  • xDSL은 국내에서 가장 보편적인 초고속 액세스기술로서 전송속도와 전송거리 측면에서 지속적인 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 그 발전방향은 크게 두 갈래로 나누어지는데 ADSL을 기반으로 한 차세대 ADSL과 VDSL이라는 새로운 기술이 그것이다. 현재 차세대 ADSL 분야에서는 ADSL2, ADSL2+ 및 ADSL2++ 등의 표준화가 활발히 진행되고 있으며, VDSL은 라인코드에 대한 열띤 경쟁이 벌어지고 있다. 본 고에서는 이와 같이 다양한 xDSL 기술에 대해 기술적 특성 및 표준화 동향을 알아보고 향후 전망 및 발전전략에 대해 살펴보았다. 국내의 경우 차세대 ADSL을 건너뛰고 이미 VDSL 서비스 단계에 진입했기 때문에 VDSL 기술에 대한 국내 기술기반을 조속히 확보해야 할 필요성이 매우 높다. 따라서 국제표준화 추세에 부합하는 신속한 VDSL 표준 마련이 필요하다.

  • 근래에는 특히 정보통신 분야와 관련된 표준화 활동이 강화되고 있고, 여기에 표준화와 상충되는 성격을 갖고 있는 지적재산권과의 조화 문제가 하나의 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 표준화기구들은 표준화와 지적재산권의 조화를 위하여 지적재산권정책을 마련해 두고 있다. 이러한 지적재산권정책의 한 부문으로서 본 논문은 ITU의 저작권정책 수립 동향을 분석한 것이다. ITU 저작권정책 수립의 동기가 된 것은 매우 특정적인 기술 분야의 사건으로 말미암은 것으로서 ITU의 표준기술문서인 권고안에 컴퓨터프로그램의 소스코드를 공개할 수 밖에 없는 상황에 따른 것이다. 이에 대하여 특허권과 저작권의 근본적인 특성 차이로 인한 논란 가운데에서도 현재는 ITU의 특허정책의 기조에 맞춰진 독립적인 저작권정책을 수립하는 활동을 진행시키고 있다. 본 논문은 저작권정책의 수립을 놓고 논의되었던 여러 가지 의견들을 종합.분석함으로써 특허정책과는 다른 저작권정책이 갖는 특수성에 대하여 이해하고, 결과적으로 현재 작성되어 계속 검토되고 있는 저작권정책 초안의 내용을 분석하여 소개한다.

  • 지난 세번에 걸쳐 소개하던 실체인증기법을 중단하고 이번호 부터는 해쉬함수 국제표준을 소개한다. 국내에서도 표준화 노력이 진행되고 있는 해쉬함수는 임의의 길이의 비트스트링을 정해진 길이의 출력인 해쉬코드로 변환시키는 함수로서 디지탈서명, 인증. 키 분배등의 많은 적용사례를 갖고 있다. 해쉬함수의 표준화 과제는 1984년 디지탈서명 국제표준화 과제중 한 part로 시작했다가 1989년 독립된 과제가 되었다 그 당시에는 2개의 part(Part 1 : General. Part 2 : Hash-functions using an n-bit block cipher algorithm)로 시작되었다가 나중에 2개의 part (Part 3 : Dedicated hash-functions, Part 4 : Hash-functions using modular arithmetic)가 추가되었다. 이 과제는 1991년 CD(Committee Draft), 1992년 DIS(Draft for International Standard)가 되었고. 1993년에 IS(International Standard)가 되었고 1998년 1차 검토가 있을 예정이다.

  • Software internationalization, the process of making software easier to localize for specific languages, has deep implications when applied to speech technology, where the goal of the task lies in the very essence of the particular language. A greatdeal of work and fine-tuning has gone into language processing software based on ASCII or a single language, say English, thus making a port to different languages difficult. The inherent identity of a language manifests itself in its lexicon, where its character set, phoneme set, pronunciation rules are revealed. We propose a decomposition of the lexicon building process, into four discrete and sequential steps. For preprocessing to build a lexical model, we translate from specific language code to unicode. (step 1) Transliterating code points from Unicode. (step 2) Phonetically standardizing rules. (step 3) Implementing grapheme to phoneme rules. (step 4) Implementing phonological processes.

  • UML is used for standardized design, but it has a problem to reuse classified and standardize design information to reuse existing design information. In this paper, the plan to solve these problems design the HYREPnIYbrid REPository) using pattemize design information, and to express together specific property of standardized design information and non standardized design information. It save standardized design information in public area, and non design information in private area. And to express saved design information in repository, UML 1.3 of OMG is used and explained the relationship of the object. Therefore, we designed hybrid repository to express standardized design information and non standardized design information using inheritance concept to remove over adding of pattemized design information.

  • In this study, the application was developed for the simulation of functional electrical stimulation. It functions to calculate the electrical energy which is transmitted to the patient, to visualize the electrical stimulation waveform, Therapy, Burst and Pulse section as setup of time period requested. The application was verified by comparing the oscilloscope and the graph of the application. XML schema was developed to utilize the contents of simulation which consist of the standard codes that are identified by OID. Using the application, medical experts will be able to research and share the contents of simulation.

  • Various input data required for water quality modeling have considerable impacts on modeling results and relevant analysis due to the absence of data standardization and lack of data accuracy. With this in mind, this study mainly focused on the designing Korean Reach File for more effective water quality modeling through the supply of database composed with accurate hydraulic and hydrologic data. The Korean Reach File is the hydraulic database with the locational information of individual reaches, and each reach represents the stream reach of homogeneous hydraulic characteristics. In detail, it has reach code designating each stream reach, and topological information including catalog unit, segment, marker and index. It was also designed considering linkage of existing codes such as stream name and stream code. The devised reach code was implemented to Kyungan River at the City of Gwangju of Kyunggi Province and the results showed that the reach code could effectively support the input database integrating basic numerous data required for water quality modeling based on a criterion as well as easier linkage and utilization with existing database. In addition, more systematic water quality management was enabled through the linkage of existing data such as treatment facilities, pollutant data, and management institutes using the reach codes defined for each stream section. In the future, more efforts need to be made to adopt the reach code as the national standard data thereby enabling utilization of numerous relevant database through the assigning of reach code to individual stream reaches nationwide.

  • Data quality management is extremely important. In this study, we proposed data standardization for effective quality management of enterprise-owned data about distributed goods and validated its effectiveness by case study. For the standardization of data, we designed data category and data dictionary. Additionally, we categorized data and identified its attributes for data category design, and we developed design process for data dictionary and built the dictionary of word, term, domain and code for data dictionary design. And then we proposed output documents which have to be written for data standardization. Proposed data standardization approach is validated its efficiency by quantitative and qualitative measurement. and as a result the data quality of the data standardization improved 24% and the data quality of the consistency of the data dictionary improved 7%.

  • In this paper. we propose a fast search algorithm for nearest neighbor vector quantization (NNVQ). The proposed algorithm rejects those codewords which can not be the nearest codeword and reduces the search range of codebook. Hence it reduces computational time and complexity in encoding process, while it provides the same SD performance as the conventional full search algorithm. We apply the proposed algorithm to the adaptive multi-rate (AMR) speech coder and a general vector quantizer designed by LBG. algorithm. Simulation results show effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The national R&D information of ministries which define shared information related to national R&D projects has been derived. Among them, 21 percent are code items which can provide important standards to classify information and put out S&T statistics. Therefore, it is necessary to standardize the code items that are differently defined and managed by each research management specialized organization. For this, the National Science & Technology Information System(NTIS) intends to provide a clear code standard for the national R&D information of ministries by defining the NTIS Standard Code. In this study, we also describe the classification service to manage the NTIS Standard Code, National Standard Science and Technology Classification Codes which have been used for national R&D projects's survey and analysis as a unified way.
