A Study on the Relational Matching Method for Road Pavement Markings in Aerial Images (항공사진에 나타난 도로 노면표식을 위한 관계형 매칭 기법에 관한 연구)

  • To obtain the 3-D coordinates of the urban roads from aerial images, the accurate matching technique in road areas is required. In this paper, we suggest the relational matching method that is performed by comparison of relationships of road pavement markings after they are extracted from aerial images using geometric properties and spatial relationships of the pavement markings. Relational matching requires not only high level description of features but also the solution for inexact matching problems. In addition, it needs a lot of tests for the reliable final result. In this research, we described features as calculating geometric properties of the pavement markings, suggested the solution for inextact matching problems, and performed tests to decide whether the result is acceptable or not, which use the property that road areas are flat. In order to evaluate the accuracy of matching, we made a visual evaluation and compared the result of this technique with those measured by analytical photogrammetry.

  • This paper proposes a novel technique of marker-based 2D-3D registration to combine 3D information obtained from preoperative CT images into 2D image obtained from intraoperative x-ray fluoroscopy image. Our method is divided into preoperative and intraoperative procedures. In preoperative procedure, we generate CT-derived DRRs using graphics hardware and detect markers automatically. In intraoperative procedure, we propose a hierarchical two- step registration to reduce a degree of freedom from 6-DOP to 2-DOF which is composed of in-plane registration using principal axis method and out-plane registration using minimal error searching method in spherical coordinate. For experimentation, we use cardiac phantom datasets with confirmation markers and evaluate our method in the aspects of visual inspection, accuracy and processing time. As experimental results, our method keeps accuracy and aligns very fast by reducing real-time computations.

ULTRASTRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF TOOTH PULP AFFERENTS TERMINALS IN THE MEDULLARY DORSAL HORN OF THE RAT (치수유래 구심성 신경섬유의 삼차신경 감각핵군에서의 연접특성)

  • Little is known about processing mechanism of pain sensation of the oral cavity at the 1st synapse of trigeminal sensory nuclei. Serial ultrathin sections of tooth pulp afferent terminals, identified by the transganglionic transport of 1% wheatgerm agglutinin conjugated horseradish peroxidase, were investigated with electron microscope. Quantitative ultrastructural analysis was performed on digitizing tablet connected to Macintoshi personal computer (software; NIH Image 1.60, NIH, Bethesda, MD). Labeled boutons could be classified into two types by the shapes of containing vesicles : S bouton, which contained mainly spherical vesicles (Dia. 45-55 nm) and few large dense cored vesicles (Dia, 80-120nm), and LDCV bouton, which contained spherical vesicles as well as large number of large dense cored vesicles. Most of the parameters on the ultrastructural characteristic and synaptic organization of labeled boutons were similar between S and LDCV boutons, except shapes of containing vesicles. Majority of the labeled boutons showed simple synaptic arrangement. The labeled boutons were frequency presynaptic to dendritic spine, and to a lesser extent, dendritic shaft. They rarely synapsed with soma and adjacent proximal dendrite. A small proportion of labeled boutons made synaptic contacts with presynaptic, pleomorphic vesicles containing endings and synaptic triad. Morphometric parameters of labeled boutons including volume and surface area, total apposed area, mitochondrial volume, active zone area, vesicle number and density showed wide variation and these were not significantly different between S and LDCV boutons. The present study revealed characteristic features on ultrastructure and synaptic connection of pulpal afferents which may involved in transmission of oral pain sensation.

  • XML(extensible Markup Language)이 1996년 등장한 이후, 기존의 정보를 XML 기반으로 나타내기 위한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 언어자원(language Resource)과 관련된 분야는 80년대부터 그 연구가 있었으나, XML의 등장 이후, 보다 다양하고 특화된 영역의 정보를 구조화하기 위한 연구결과가 최근 소개되기 시작하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 분야 중 전자사전을 표식(markup)하는 XML기반 표준언어인 LEXml(Presentation/Representation of Entries in Dictionaries: LEXml)에 대하여 살펴보고, 기존에 XML로 구축된 전자사전을 LEXml로 변환하여, 그 구조의 확장성과 유효성을 검증할 것이다. 기반자료로써 2000년도에 구축된 MultiDICO의 불어 정보를 이용하였다. 이를 위해 MultiDICO의 XML문서 구조와 LEXml 구조 사이의 각 요소(element)별 대응표를 만들었으며, 이를 바탕으로 XSL(Extensible Style sheet Language)를 작성하였다. 본 연구결과 LEXml이 기존에 구축된 전자사전들을 표식하는데 어려움이 없을 뿐만 아니라, 기계가독성을 높일 수 있는 구조적 유연성이 매우 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

The Determination of Turnover Rate and Pool Size of Acetate in the Goat Rumen by The Isotope Dilution Method (동위원소희석법에 의한 염소위의 Acetate 함량 및 흡수율의 측정)

  • 본실험의 목적은 탄산기에 방사성동위원소 C14를 표식한 sodium acetate ($CH_3$C14 OONA)를 사용하여 염소의 위내에 존재하는 acetate 의 위벽으로부터의 흡수율과 위의 acetate의 평균함량을 측정하는데 있다. C14 로 표식된 sodium acetate(specific activity 1.35$\times$108 cpm./g.)를 급사 3 시간후의 염소의 위내에 주입하고 주입 2분후부터 약 2분간격으로 위 내용물을 추울하여 column chromatograpy를 이용하여 acetate를 분리정량한 후 그의 specific activity를 측정하였다. 주입후 3 분경까지는 위내에 존재하는 acetate에 의한 표식 acetate의 희석으로 말미암아 specific activity 는 급격히 감소되어 갔고 3 분후부터는 감소도가 비교적 완만하였으나 역시 계속적으로 감소되어갔다. 희석완료후의 이 specific activity 감소는 위벽을 통한 acetate를 흡수와 위 내용물로부터의 acetate 생성으로 인한 것으로서, 이 감소율로부터 acetate의 위벽흡수속도를 추정할 수 있다. 상기 specific activity의 감소 graph 로부터 추정된 위내 acetate의 량은 본실험의 제조건하에서 약 30 g이었으며 위내 acetate 의 specific activity가 1/2 로 감소되는데 요하는 평균 시간은 약 4 분이었다. 이는 위내에 존재하는 acetate량의 약 절반은 4 분동안에 위벽을 통과함을 의미한다.

  • To investigate the molecular biological marker in insect cells, BmN-4 and Sf-0 cells were analysed by SDS-PAGE and random amplification of polymorphic DNA. The results showed that the patterns of total cell protein and random amplification of polymorphic DNA were distinguished between BmN-4 and Sf-9 cells, suggesting that the unique major bands were useful as molecular biological marker in BmN-4 and Sf-9 cells.

  • This paper reviews the use of parasites as 'biological tags' for studying stock analysis of salmonid fishes. Numerous definitions of stock concepts exist, but most of them essentially define a group of fish as having similar biological characteristics and being self-reproducing as stocks. It is important to manage fish stocks for human consumption and sustainable production and especially for salmonid fishes. Because these fry are considered as each country's property, it is necessary to identify and discriminate each fish stock in the open sea. Methods of separating fish stocks are very diverse. Artificial tags, parasites, otoliths scales and genetic characters have been used for stock analysis and each method has advantages and disadvantages. Of these parasites can be good biological tags because they are applied by nature at no cost. Parasites can be infected with susceptible host fishes when they enter into certain areas. Then if they move to the outside and are caught researchers can infer that the fish had been in the endemic area for a period of time during their life. Hence the host fish can be considered as naturally 'tagged' by parasites. However, if they do not pass the parasites-endemic. area, they will harbour no parasites. Therefore, researchers can discriminate each fish stocks and trace their migration routes with these biological tags. In this paper, several examples on the use of parasites as biological tags for studying salmonids, as well as other species, are listed. The advantages and limitations of parasites as biological tags are also discussed. Chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), the main salmonid species migrating to Korea, is distributed all around the North Pacific. Korean chum salmon are generally thought to move to the Sea of Okhotsk, the western North Pacific and the Bering Sea. However, there is no clear information on the distribution and migration pathways of Korean chum salmon, and no markers exist for separating them from others yet. Recent Korean chum salmon stock analysis including parasites information are mentioned.

Comparision of Hepatitis B Virus Markers in the Serum and the Cerebrospinal Fluid (혈청과 뇌척수액에서 B형 간염 바이러스 표식자 존재의 비교)

  • We investigated HBV markers in serum and cerebrospinal fluid of 50 subjects with neurologic disorders or other disorders, who visited Dept. of neurology, college of medicine, Yeungnam University, from April-1 to August-31 1994 and were performed cerebrospinal fluid analysis to investigate the detection rate of HBV markers in cerebrospinal fluid and the possibility of neurologic disorders associated with HBV infection. The results were as follows. The positivity of HBsAg and HBV prevalence rate in serum were 6(12.0%) and 37(74.0%). The number of patient with HBsAg, only anti-HBV and no markers were 6(12.0%), 31(62.0%) and 13(26.0%), respectively. The positivity of HBsAg and HBV prevalence rate in cerebrospinal fluid were 3(6%) and 18(36.0%). The number of patient with HBsAg, only anti-HBV and no markers were 6(100.0%), 12(38.7%) and 0(0.0%) respectively. The number of patient with virus associated diseases(VAD) and non virus associated diseases(NVAD) were 26(52%) and 24(48%). The HBV prevalence rate in serum of VAD and NVAD groups were 88.5% and 58.3% (p<0.05). The HBV prevalence rate in CSF of VAD and NVAD groups were 53.8% and 16.7%(P<0.05). The HBV prevalence rate in serum and CSF of VAD and NVAD groups were 60.9% and 28.6%. Aa a conclusion, the HBV markers in the CSF were partially detected at the presence of the HBV markers in serum. The prevalance rate of HBV in the CSF was increased at the HBsAg positive in the serum and the serum and the CSF was significantly increased at the VAD group than the NVAD group.
