CBN과 WA숫돌에 의한 연삭에서 연삭력과 표면거칠기 특성 (Characteristics of Grinding Force and Surface Roughness by CBN and WA Wheel)

  • In this study an experimental investigation was conducted to find the grinding characteristics of ceramics, STD11 and STS304 materials. The grinding force and the microscopic observation of the workpieces were obtained in surface grinding. Grinding characteristics of ceramics were inspected through the microscopic examination the cutting force, and the surface roughness. It has been found that the finding force of ceramics is relatively low as compared to that of steels and that CBN wheel has an excellent performance. The surface roughness was measured according to the feedrate and the depth of out.

  • In this study, the variation of surface roughness was tested in surface grinding for the three working materials SM45C, heat-treated SM45C, and gray cat iron. IT was performed for the various grinding wheels with two grain size #60, #100, and three grade I, O, R and various grinding depths and feeds, The fractural grinding depths which were obtained when the grinding wheels were destructed in surface grinding works, were examined and compared with the calculated value sug-gested in this study, The results showed that the surface roughness was decreased by decreasing grinding depth, and feed, and increasing grain size and grades. The fracture grinding depths were increased by increasing grain size, grade and feed.

비철금속의 선삭에서 절삭각과 이송량이 표면거칠기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study of Surface Roughness by Feedrate and Cutting Angle at Turning of Non-iron Metal)

  • In the present industry, there is not only the cutting of iron metal, but also the cutting of alloy aluminum, brass and plastic to wood(Paulownia). A variety of material is used and these industry is made need of the cutting material but lots of experiments processing is not enough at the moment. At this point, our team processed the basic experiment about influencing of Feedrate and Backrake angle of bite concerned to manufacture in the turning of non-iron metal. Generally speaking, we recognized that there was occurrence of increase of Surface Roughness with increasing of cutting angle in the non-iron metal, but in the cutting of wood we knew, there was special change with change of cutting angle

  • In this study the runout of spindle is selected as a parameter through which we could measure the machinability of machine and the quality of products. We experimented the effects of runout on surface roughness in high-speed ball-end milling by cutting HP4M workpiece in various cutting condition. It was founs that sunout makes a directive effects on surface roughness and the frequensy type of runout is more or loss similar with that of surface roughness. So the predcition of surface roughness could be possible through measuring the spindle runout.

  • This paper describes a detailed experimental Investigation of heat transfer In a reciprocating rectangular channel fitted with rib structures with particular reference to the design of a piston for marine propulsive diesel engine. The parametric test matrix involves Reynolds number, reciprocating frequency, and reciprocating radius, respectively, in the ranges, $1,000\;{\~}\;6,000,\;1.7\;{\~}\;2.5\;Hz,\;and\;7\;{\~}\;15cm$ with four different rib arrangements. The rib arrangements have considerable influences on the heat transfer in the reciprocating channel due to the modified vortex flow structure. The experimental data confirm that the increases in the heat transfer can be seen in order of Case (a), Case (d), Case (c), and Case (b)

  • The high speed machining has been widely applied to manufacture dies and machine elements in industrial field. Especially, 5-axis milling has been employed to produce a wide range of turbine blades, impellers and complex molds. In this study, the machining characteristics of injection molds were investigated according to tool tilting angles in 5-axis milling. The cutting force and surface roughness were investigated with various tool tilting angles. When the tool tilting angle was over than 10 degree, the characteristics of cutting force and surface roughness were improved in machining of Al alloy.

  • This paper presents a neural network approach to estimate the surface roughness by considering the relationship between the polishing operation parameters and the surface roughness. The neural network model predicts the post-machining surface roughness by using several factors such as pre-machining surface roughness, pressure, feed rate, spindle speed, and the number of polishing as inputs. In this paper, the several neural network models are implemented to estimate the surface roughness by using actual experimental data. The experimental results show that the neural network approach is more appropriate to represent the polishing characteristics of mold and die compared with the results obtained by the approach using exponential function.

  • It was already proven experimentally that the laminated grinding wheel is superior to the general grinding wheel in the productivity of grinding. However, it can't be guaranteed when the workpiece material is cemented carbide. Because of its extreme hardness, the grinding wheels made up of super-abrasives are used for grinding it. So, to investigate the performance in extremely hard materials grinding using super-abrasive grinding wheels, the surface roughness characteristics of cemented carbide ground by the laminated diamond wheels are studied experimentally. Through this study, it is found that the similar surface roughness characteristics, those were found in the studies on the laminated aluminum oxide wheels, are still available.

  • This paper deals wi th the establishment of the method of non-contact surface roughness measurement by developed system. One of the most Important factor of determinating quality of a produced manufacture is surface roughness The tendency of manufacturing method is changing from small amount manufactures / high-volume production to large amount manufactures / low volume production, and the study of reducing time for surface roughness measurement has been actively investigated The non-contact surface roughness method by using laser which is different from contact method has been only used to the polished surface, so new surface roughness measurement method was adopted by virtue of Fraunhofer diffraction in the periodic surface for on-the-machine. in this paper, we establish the method of non-contact surface roughness measurement which can reduce measuring time in the periodic surface

  • In this paper, a double artificial neural network (ANN) approach and the efficient machining database building scheme are presented for the prediction of surface roughness in high-speed machining. In this approach, 4 machining parameters and used for the prediction of cutting force components, and the combinations of 4 parameters and the predicted cutting force components are finally used for the prediction of surface roughness. The experimental results comparing the these results with the predicted values using simple 4 input nodes have been also investigated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
