A Study on the Analysis of Cycle Ratio Using Fractal Dimension in Al 2024-T3 (프랙탈 차원을 이용항 AL 2024-T3 합금의 피로수명비 해석에 관한 연구)

  • Surface micro-crack grows along intergranular or transgranular region of crystal grains. But if it meets the barrier such as sessile dislocation and precipitates it loses straightness and deflects. Investigators had many difficulties in estimating fatigue life of smooth specimen because of the random distribution growth and coalescence of surface micro-cracks. The path of surface micro-crack has irregularity due to nonhomogeneous microstructure. Euclidian geometry can't quantify the shape of surface micro-crack but fractal geometry can. Therefore in this paper fractal dimension is measured at various stage of cycle ratio and estimated cycle ratio in 2024-T3 aluminium, alloy.

Carbon Sphere/Fe3O4 Nanocomposite for Li/air Batteries (리튬/공기 이차전지용 카본미소구체/Fe3O4 나노복합체)

  • In this article, we report the fabrication and characterization of carbon sphere/$Fe_3O_4$ nanocomposite for Li/air batteries. $Fe_3O_4$ nanoparticles are dispersed homogeneously on the surface of carbon spheres in an attempt to enhance the low conductivity of oxide catalyst ($Fe_3O_4$). The carbon sphere/$Fe_3O_4$ nanocomposite could offer wide surface area of $Fe_3O_4$ and increased carbon/catalyst contact area, which lead to enhanced catalytic activity. The electrode employing carbon sphere/$Fe_3O_4$ nanocomposite presented relatively low overpotential and stable cyclic performance compared with the electrode employing carbon sphere.

  • We have synthesized uniform nanometer sized magnetite particles using chemical coprecipitation technique through a sonochemical method with surfactant such as oleic acid. Magnetite phase nanoparticles could be observed from X-ray diffraction. Magnetite nanoparticles is surface phase morphology and biopolymer-microspheres for Application Medical. Magnetite nanoparticles coated biopolymer. Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) was used to image the coated nanoparticles. Magnetic colloid suspensions containing particles with sodium oleate, chitosan and $\beta$-glucan have been prepared. The morphology of the magnetic biopolymer microsphere particles were characterized using optical microscope. Magnetic hysteresis measurement were performed using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer at room temperature to investigate the magnetic properties of the biopolymer microspheres and magnetite coated biopolymer including magnetite nanoparticles. Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging was used to investigate biopolymer coated nanoparticles and biopolymer microspheres.

  • The capacitance for three-dimensional (3D) VLSI interconnection line is calculated. Capacitance is obtained by solving integral equation that is the product of Green's function and surface charge density. Surface charge density is assumed that constant in each subarea, and subarea is devided by rectangular size in interconnetion surfaces. Up to date, so this integral method using Green's function is calculated by Fourier integral transformation, that it cannot help making an error. In this paper, it is proposed to use direct integration instead of Fourier integral method. And we proved accuracy of this paper in comparision with conventional results.

Substrate Effect on the Electrochemical Properties of $LiCoO_2$ Thin-Film Cathode for Li Microbattery (리튬 미소전지용 $LiCoO_2$ 박막양극의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 기판의 영향)

  • In order to investigate the substrate effect on the electrochemical properties of thin-film electrode, $LiCoO_2$ was deposited onto the alumina, chemically etched-Si and flat-Si substrates. After annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ in $O_2$ for 30min, the film deposited on the alumina consisted of large particles with several cracks, whereas the film deposited on the flat-Si substrate was composed of very small and uniform particles. The films deposited on the flat-Si showed improved electrochemical properties such as peak potential divergence and rate-capability, over those deposited on the alumina and chemically etched-Si substrate, which can be attributed to the differences of the particle size surface morphology, and the electrical resistance of the current collector.
