Flow Characteristics of a Small Engine Intake Port (소형엔진 흡기포트의 유동특성)

  • 본 연구은 해석적인 접근을 통하여 소형엔진 흡기포트 설계인자의 변화에 따른 유량계수를 고찰하였다. 기존모델을 Valve Lift별 유량계수들을 해석하였으며 그 중 유량계수가 일정해지는 구간의 Valve Lift를 기준으로 설계인자 변화에 따른 성능해석을 수행하였다. 결론적으로, 흡기포트 유량계수를 결정하는 중요한 인자는 포트각도와 유선형상임을 확인하였고 이들 값의 최적화를 수행하였다. 흡기포트의 유량계수를 결정하는 설계인자로는 포트각도, 흡기포트의 유선형상, Port Height_Guide, Flange 면적이 있다. 포트각도의 상승이 유량계수를 상승시키지만 그에 따른 굴절 및 Dead Volume의 발생으로 오히려 유량계수 측면에서는 불리한 조건이 되기도 한다. 급격한 형상변화 부분에서 박리현상이 발생되는데 이에 유동을 위한 곡률을 적용하여 급격한 형상변화를 줄여 박리형상을 감쇄시키고, Dead Volume 삭제하여 원활한 유동특성을 만들 수 있다.

  • 본 연구에서는 MR 유체를 특징으로 하는 대시포트형 마운트를 제안하고, 자극 형상의 변화가 MR유체 마운트의 감쇠력에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 제안된 MR유체 마운트의 코어부에 발생하는 자기 특성에 대하여 살펴보기 위하여 자극(Magnetic pole)의 유효길이와 코어 중심부의 구조를 달리하여 대시포트를 제작하였다. 등가자기회로를 이용한 대략적인 계산방법에 의한 결과 자극의 유효길이가 증가할수록 자기저항은 감소하는 경향을 나타내지만, 그 밖의 설계인자들의 영향은 작게 나타났다. 상용해석프로그램을 이용하여 등가자기회로 결과와 비교를 하였으며, 대시포트 마운트를 제작하여 자극의 유효길이 변화에 대한 감쇠력의 변화를 실험적으로 비교하였다.

  • Performance optimization of a small engine intake port has been studied through computational and experimental approach. Port angle, flange area and port shape are very important design parameters affecting performance of an intake port. Especially, radius of curvature of intake port inner surface has major effect on the flow coefficient of an intake port. As increasing port angle and flange area, flow coefficient is increased because pressure distribution and pressure gradient in the intake port are improved. Even though computational results over-predict maximum 8% compared with experimental result, they describe the tendency of flow coefficient according to the design parameters. Optimized intake port shows about 4.5% improved flow performance.

  • An Intake Port of SI engines plays a key role on improving engine performance by maximizing full load volumetric efficiency or by optimizing in-cylinder air motion. However, designing an intake port has been usually performed based on port experts' experience and know-how, which means that analytical analyses are relatively insufficient. In this paper, port design parameters which decide an overall port shape were defined in order to correlate them relevantly with flow test results accumulated so far. Test species were composed of all twenty eight SI engines which cover major engine displacements from 1,000cc to 4,000cc. First, they were tested on a steady state flow test rig to find out their flow coefficients. Secondly, those flow coefficients were analyzed based on the port design parameters measured from the engines. The most effective parameters were port height, valve head diameter, and the ratio of port size and cylinder bore diameter. The final correlation equation could predict flow coefficients within 2% deviation.

  • 소형엔진의 성능을 결정하는 흡기시스템 중 흡기포트는 매우 중요한 설계인자이다. 본 연구는 흡기포트에 대한 성능실험 및 CFD(Computaional Fluid Dynamics) 해석을 통하여 흡기 성능을 파악하고, 이러한 일련의 실험과정을 학습하여 제품의 성능 평가 절차를 정립하고 성능을 개선하는데 그 목적이 있다. 흡기 성능평가를 위해 리그를 구성하여 실험과 해석을 진행하였으며 이를 통하여 공기유량계수 값을 획득하였다. 공기유량계수 값은 밸브 리프트 변화에 따른 표준 밸브리프트로 환산한 값을 사용하였다. 실험적 연구를 통하여 기존 소형엔진 흡기 포트의 평가에 대한 기준을 제시하였고, 이는 소형엔진 흡기포트 설계 후 성능 평가를 위한 중요한 지표로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The transprot layer protocol for distrubuted multimedia applications in high speed network should gurantee the Quality of Serivce(QoS)requested by uwer.,The QoS Parmenters can be divied into two calssifications:those depend on the speed of a network such as bandiwidth,end-to-end transmission delay and throughput;and net- woek independent parameters such as various typed of group communications, retransmission method based on multimeda characteristic,acceptable packet wrror rate and transmission priority.In this proposed protocol,we divided user's QoS into performance redated parmeters and non-performance related parameters.The perform- ance-related paramenters are mapped into ATM traddic paramenters by the Distributed QoS Manger(DQM),the QoS manager,and the non-performance redlted paramenters are supported by the Distributed Multimedia Trans-port protocol(DMTP),a high-performance group transport protocol.Especially,becaues the DMTP is designed with considering the IP protocol,it can be efficiently used as an underlying protocol not onlu in ATM,but also in Ethernet,Token ring and FDDI LAN.

  • This research proposed a dashpot type mount design using MR fluids, and derived governing equation of the proposed design considering the design parameters of the mount and the Bingham characteristics of MR fluids, which affect the damping forces of the dashpot MR fluid mount. In odor to observe the change of magnetic properties which occurs from the solenoid, the effective length of the magnetic pole and the structure of core are selected as design parameters. The magnetic field quality is calculated in compliance with an equivalent magnetic circuit method. When the effective length of pole increases, the magnetic resistance of the pole of the MR mount decreased, and the magnetic flux density is increased. The result which uses a commercial business software and the result in compliance with equivalent magnetic circuit method shows the tendency which is similar.

  • 본논문에서는 Hidden Markov Model 에 기초한 실시간 고립 단어 인식 시스템에서의 Viterbi 알 고리듬을 위한 전용 VLSI 구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 듀얼포트 레지스터 파일로 입출력 부하를 줄이고 가산-최소/최대 연산부의 병렬 연산 구조를 이용하여 실시간 동작이 가능하도록 설계되었다. 모 델 인자와 상태 변수의 값에 태그들을 덧붙임으로써 이 구조는 대표적인 HMM 구조들을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다.

  • A gerotor can be manufactured in a miniature size because it has a high discharge per cycle and a simple structure. Gerotors are widely used for the lubrication oil of an engine and as the hydraulic source of an automatic transmission. Recently, improvements in fuel efficiency and noise reduction have come to the fore in the automobile industry, and it has been necessary for better fuel efficiency to continuously improve the flow rate and noise of internal gear pumps through the optimal design of the gerotor and port shape. In this study, gerotors were generated based on the equations derived for a lobe shape with multiple profiles (ellipse 1-elliptical involute-ellipse 2). The ranges of the design parameters were considered to prevent a cusp and loop. In addition, the optimal lobe shape was obtained by determining the influence of the lobe shape on the performances (flow rate, irregularity, etc.), according to the values of the design parameters.

  • The parameters which can affect the performance of small thruster were verified by experiments. The loss of catalyst through the port for pressure sensor was prevented by chamber wall mesh. There was no performance decrease due to chamber wall mesh, and stable supply of propellant is the key of stability of the thruster. However, sudden pressure drop in the chamber can decrease the performance instantly. Therefore, the sudden pressure drop should be eliminated as much as possible. The cross type distributor showed more stable performance than circular type, and structural strength is also stronger.
