다구찌 직교배열법을 이용한 포뮬러 레이스카 전륜 업라이트의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of the Front Upright of Formula Race Car Using Taguchi's Orthogonal Array)

  • Formula race car is generally recognized as a vehicle which is optimally designed for on-road race track with the regulations of race host bodies. Especially, the uprights of suspension system decisively have effects on the performance of cornering and stability of race car's driving performance, which are very important factors in the design of race car. This paper is a study of optimal upright design of F1800 grade formula race car which are normally used in professional race circuit in Korea. To design optimally the front upright of F1800 formula race car, Taguchi's orthogonal array, which is known for more useful method than full factorial design experimental method in cost and time, is used with CAE method such as FEM analysis. And the result of this paper shows that Taguchi's orthogonal array employed for this optimal design is very useful for designing the front upright of race car by minimizing its weight as well as keeping its safety factor as enough as designer wants in the view of quality, cost and delivery at the early design step.

  • F1 머신이 청취자 앞을 지나칠 때, 도플러효과에 의해 그가 느끼는 진동수에는 급격한 변화가 수반된다. 보통 도플러효과는 음원 운동의 연장선상에 청취자가 있는 상황에 대해 기술된다. 이 논문에서는 청취자가 음원 운동의 연장선으로부터 벗어나 있는 경우를 다룬다. 머신이 청취자를 지나칠 때, 주파수 변화는 이 경우 점진적 변화를 보이며, 변화에 소요되는 시간 폭은 머신의 속력에 관계된다. 본 연구에서는 청취자가 느끼는 주파수 변화를 시간 및 머신 위치의 함수로 분석한다. 또한 실제 F1 머신의 소리에 대해 주파수 분석을 하여 머신의 속력을 계산한다.

2016 포뮬러 형태의 자작자동차 설계 및 제작 (Design and Making of a Handmade Vehicle with a Formula in 2016)

  • In 2016, a handmade vehicle called to the VF-3 was designed and manufactured as a formula typed car. Prior to manufacturing and assembly, the impact attenuator was analyzed through ANSYS LS-DYNA, and the results were applied to the VF-3. The dynamical performance of the VF-3, such as the acceleration and circling simulations, was also assessed through MSC-ADAMS. The results were applied and compared after the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) competition. There was only a 0.8 s difference in the acceleration test. In order that the frame was not twisted by thermal deformation, Argon-TIG welding was used and a zig was designed. Another zig was designed to have the exact position for the hardpoints in the suspension system. Most of the parts were made with aluminum 7050 for reduced weight. The VF-3 won the third prize in the 2016 KSAE Student Handmade Vehicle competition.

포뮬러 형태의 자작자동차 설계 및 제작 (Design and Manufacture of a Hand-made Vehicle Based on a Formula)

  • A hand-made vehicle with a formula (VF-1) was designed and manufactured with the aim of realizing a lightweight and high-performance vehicle. The driver's body weight and stiffness of the frame were considered. The vehicle was equipped with a one-cylinder Exiv 250 engine with intake manifold potting for realizing weight reduction, high performance, and low cost. The suspension system for the formula was designed through the analyses and tests of vehicle motion and equipment. In a steering system, anti-Ackerman geometry was introduced to increase the transverse force during cornering. A full electric paddle shift system was adopted to decrease the braking distance. For protection against the distortion and warping of the frame, tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding technology was used.

  • Four wheel steering(4WS) systems which can control the lateral and yaw motions of vehicles by steering front and rear wheels simultaneously, have been regarded as effective for improving the stability and handing performance of vehicles. However, since the 4WS systems depend only on the lateral force of tire, they have some limitation due to the nonlinear characteristics of tire related with the saturation phenomenon of lateral force to the slip angle of tire in a near-limit-performance maneuvering range. In this study, in other to evaluate the effect of nonlinear characteristics of tire on the dynamic performance of vehicles, a new concept for driving the cornering stiffness of nonlinear tire by using the "Magic Formula" tire model is proposed. In addition, the nonlinear 4WS vehicle model is constructed based on the proposed cornering stiffness of nonlinear tire. It is noted from simulation that the nonlinear characteristics of tire affect greatly on the 4WS vehicle performance.rformance.

저가 입문용 1인승 레이스카 Tubular Space Frame의 비틀림 강성 최적설계 (Optimal Design for Torsional Stiffness of the Tubular Space Frame of a Low-Cost Single Seat Race Car)

  • 일반적으로 고성능의 레이스카나 스포츠카 시장에서 차량의 프레임 설계는 매우 중요한 기술적 요소로 작용하고 있다. 차량의 비틀림 강성은 차량의 코너링 성능에 많은 영향을 주기 때문에 레이스 차량에 있어 우수한 성능의 프레임이라는 것은 높은 비틀림 강성을 가진다는 것을 뜻한다. 본 연구에서는 입문용 포뮬러 레이스카 프레임의 최적 비틀림 강성 설계를 위하여 다구찌 직교배열표를 가진 실험계획법과 유한요소 해석 기술을 이용하였다. 이러한 기법을 통해서 얻은 결과가 초기설계단계에서 보다 14.5%의 무게를 감량함과 동시에 무게 대비 비틀림 강성 10.7%의 개선 효과를 볼 수가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 직교배열표를 가지는 실험계획법을 이용한 구조해석이 설계 초기단계에서 저가형 레이스 차량에 사용되는 Tubular space frame 설계에 매우 유용함을 나타내고 있다.
