Indirect tensile strength(IDT) test and resilient modulus(Mr) test were performed to evaluate experimental performance characteristics for the conventional and crumb rubber-modified(CRM) asphalt concrete using dry and wet processes asphalt. The IDT test was conducted under three temperatures(5, 10, 20$^{\circ}C$). According to the test results, it was shown that indirect tensile strength of CRM asphalt concrete was lower than that of the conventional one. However, toughness and maximum vortical strain of the CRM asphalt concrete were higher than those of the conventional one. The results of Mr test were presented that Mr of CRM asphalt concrete was higher than that of the conventional one. In addition, it was revealed that the overall laboratory performance characteristics of the wet-processed CRM asphalt concrete was better than those of the dry-processed one.
A recycling agent has been manufactured on the basis of the chemical composition of reclaimed asphalt binders and virgin asphalt binders. The chemical compositions of reclaimed asphalt binders extracted from reclaimed asphalt pavements have been analyzed according to the ASTM method and the results were compared to those of virgin asphalt binder AP-3. Reclaimed asphalt binders have shown that asphaltenes was increased whereas saturates, naphthene aromatics, and polar aromatics fractions were decreased. A recycling agent made of aromatic compounds, in which its chemical composition is similar to the aromatics fraction in asphalt binders, has been produced to reduce the amount of asphaltenes in reclaimed asphalt hinders. The evaluation of the recycling agent produced was performed by testing ductility, rolling and ball softening point, penetration at $25^{\circ}C$ and viscosity at $60^{\circ}C$. It was found that, by adding the recycling agent 20% by weight to the reclaimed asphalt binders, the physical properties of reclaimed asphalt binders was recovered to the level of virgin asphalt binder AP-3.
Wheel tracking and ravelling tests were conducted on the hot mix crumb rubber modified asphalt concrete usmg waste tire t to evaluate the mechanical prope$\pi$ies in comparison with conventional asphalt concrete. According to the test results, the m modified product, lias superior to the conventional one by 50% in the resistance of permanent deformation and by 15% in the m resistance of dmability. The experimental results should recommend thut the waste tir$\xi$ is positively recycled for asphak concrete.

Recently the quantities of waste asphalt concrete at construction sites have increased greatly, but the maintenance and final disposal is very difficult problem. Therefore, we were faced with a worsening environmental problem brought about illegal measures. One of the most effective recycling method is cold recycling. This method will satisfy treatment and recycling of construction wastes. Also it is very important question in the preservation of environmental and natural resources. So, in this paper, we dealt cold recycling modified asphalt mixtures using emulsified asphalt to concern the effect of adding reclaimed asphalt concrete 30, 40, 50% and using SBR Latex for modified asphalt mixtures.
In this study, discharged nylon fibers were added to asphalt concretes to be compared with fatigue life and analyzed in economic point of view. A four point bending fatigue test was conducted, and as a result, nylon fiber reinforced asphalt concretes that showed a 10percent increase in fatigue life compared to ordinary asphalt concrete. The economic analysis confirmed that the maintenance cost was decreased by 540 million won throughout the analyzing period. It is thought discharged nylon fiber reinforced asphalt will cause more economic and social effects than was shown by life cycle cost analysis.
Asphalt sealants for the crack repair of asphalt concrete road were prepared using waste lubricant oil in this work. The waste lubricant oil was compounded with asphalt(AP-5), SBS triblock copolymer, a tackifying agent(petroleum resin), and antioxidants. Cone penetration, softening point, ductility, elongation by tensile adhesion, and resilience of asphalt sealant compounds were measured. Cone penetration of asphalt sealant compounds increased with the increase of waste lubricant oil content while their softening point, ductility, and resilience decreased. By the addition of talc as an extender, softening point and resilience of asphalt sealants increased, but cone penetration, ductility, and elongation by tensile adhesion of those decreased with the proportion of talc content. The most economic asphalt sealant which could pass an ASTM specification could be manufactured by the big decrement of petroleum resin content.
The objective of this research is to evaluate engineering properties of recycled aggregates, slag as coarse & fine aggregate and waste foundry sand(WFS) as fine aggregate, in hot mix asphalt(HMA). In this research, soundness, gradation and particle analysis, abrasion, specific gravity and absorption test were carried out. The optimum asphalt binder content(OAC) for various HMA combinations of recycled aggregate was determined by Marshall Mix Design. The ranges determined is between 7.2% and 7.5%. Indirect tensile test, resilient modulus test, creep test were carried out for characterization of rutting behavior of various combination of HMA. Judging from the limited tests, the HMA with recycled aggregates is not as good rutting resistance as the HMA with common aggregates. After finishing the Wheel tracking test, the application or feasibility for the use of recycled aggregate as asphalt paving material will be determined.
Reclaimed aggregates through waste asphalt are produced and utilized for waste resource utilization. This study conducts quality tests and performance evaluations for mixtures with Rejuvenator applied to reclaimed asphalt concrete. Through quality testing and performance evaluation, the study investigates whether there is any problem in using reclaimed asphalt concrete by replacing general hox mix asphalt. As a result, the values of ordinary hot mix asphalt are similar to those of reclaimed asphalt, suggesting that the substitution does not create critical engineering issues. Using reclaimed asphalt concrete has the advantages of increasing economic efficiency and utilizing waste resources.
