A Study on the Applicability of Deep Learning Algorithm for Detection and Resolving of Occlusion Area (영상 폐색영역 검출 및 해결을 위한 딥러닝 알고리즘 적용 가능성 연구)

  • Recently, spatial information is being constructed actively based on the images obtained by drones. Because occlusion areas occur due to buildings as well as many obstacles, such as trees, pedestrians, and banners in the urban areas, an efficient way to resolve the problem is necessary. Instead of the traditional way, which replaces the occlusion area with other images obtained at different positions, various models based on deep learning were examined and compared. A comparison of a type of feature descriptor, HOG, to the machine learning-based SVM, deep learning-based DNN, CNN, and RNN showed that the CNN is used broadly to detect and classify objects. Until now, many studies have focused on the development and application of models so that it is impossible to select an optimal model. On the other hand, the upgrade of a deep learning-based detection and classification technique is expected because many researchers have attempted to upgrade the accuracy of the model as well as reduce the computation time. In that case, the procedures for generating spatial information will be changed to detect the occlusion area and replace it with simulated images automatically, and the efficiency of time, cost, and workforce will also be improved.

Neural network with occlusion-resistant and reduced parameters in stereo images (스테레오 영상에서 폐색에 강인하고 축소된 파라미터를 갖는 신경망)

  • This paper proposes a neural network that can reduce the number of parameters while reducing matching errors in occluded regions to increase the accuracy of depth maps in stereo matching. Stereo matching-based object recognition is utilized in many fields to more accurately recognize situations using images. When there are many objects in a complex image, an occluded area is generated due to overlap between objects and occlusion by background, thereby lowering the accuracy of the depth map. To solve this problem, existing research methods that create context information and combine it with the cost volume or RoIselect in the occluded area increase the complexity of neural networks, making it difficult to learn and expensive to implement. In this paper, we create a depthwise seperable neural network that enhances regional feature extraction before cost volume generation, reducing the number of parameters and proposing a neural network that is robust to occlusion errors. Compared to PSMNet, the proposed neural network reduced the number of parameters by 30%, improving 5.3% in color error and 3.6% in test loss.

  • In this paper, we propose a depth information extraction method for intermediate image synthesis. As stereo matching method, MBS(Multiple-Baseline Stereo) method has been proposed, in which the matching accuracy increases by using the multiple camera, but there are some inherent problems such as computational complexity, boundary overreach(BO) in depth map, and occlusion. So, we propose the modified version of MBS so called Multi-Resolution MBS(MR-MBS). Moreover, we also propose an adaptive occlusion area processing technique to improve the accuracy of the depth information in occlusion area.

Automatic Face Region Detection and Tracking for Robustness in Rotation using the Estimation Function (평가 함수를 사용하여 회전에 강건한 자동 얼굴 영역 검출과 추적)

  • In this paper, we proposed automatic face detection and tracking which is robustness in rotation. To detect a face image in complicated background and various illuminating conditions, we used face skin color detection. we used Harris corner detector for extract facial feature points. After that, we need to track these feature points. In traditional method, Lucas-Kanade feature tracker doesn't delete useless feature points by occlusion in current scene (face rotation or out of camera). So we proposed the estimation function, which delete useless feature points. The method of delete useless feature points is estimation value at each pyramidal level. When the face was occlusion, we deleted these feature points. This can be robustness to face rotation and out of camera. In experimental results, we assess that using estimation function is better than traditional feature tracker.

  • 효율적으로 깊이지도를 획득하기 위해 다양한 방법의 지역 기반스테레오 매칭 방법이 사용된다. 일반적인 지역기반 스테레오 매칭에 사용되는 비용값 계산 방법을 통해 깊이지도를 생성하게 되면 객체의 경계 영역이 무너지거나, 유사한 텍스쳐 정보가 연속적으로 나타나는 영역에서 부정확한 깊이값을 얻는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 깊이지도의 정확성을 높이기 위해 2가지 단계를 거쳐 최종 깊이지도를 생성한다. 처음으로, 일반적으로 사용하는 지역기반 스테레오 매칭 비용 함수와 입력 영상의 기울기를 고려한 초기 비용값을 가이드 필터를 이용하여 최적의 비용값을 찾아 초기 변위지도를 생성한다. 스테레오매칭을 수행할 경우, 시점의 차이로 인해 보이지 않는 영역에서 정확한 변위값을 찾지 못하는 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 좌영상과 우영상을 기반으로 획득한 변위지도를 사용하여 교차검사를 함으로써 폐색영역을 찾아낸다. 폐색 영역을 이웃한 화소의 값을 사용하여 채울 경우 실선과 같은 오류가 결과 영상에 나타나게 된다. 이러한 오류 영역을 제거하기 위해 마지막으로 가중치를 적용한 중간값 필터를 적용한다. 실험 결과 제안한 방법을 사용하여 획득한 깊이지도가 기존의 방법보다 정확한 깊이값을 얻는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Influence of a isolator in supersonic nozzle on thermal choking (초음속 노즐의 분리부가 열폐색에 미치는 영향)

  • This study presents numerical solutions of the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations for supersonic unsteady flow in a convergent-divergent nozzle with a isolator. The TVD scheme in generalized coordinates is employed in order to calculate the moving shock waves caused by thermal choking. We discuss on transient characteristics, unstart phenomena, fluctuations of specific thrust caused by thermal choking and effects of isolator. The adverse pressure gradient caused by heat addition brings about separation of the wall boundary layers and formation of the oblique shock wave that proceed to upstream. The proceeding speed of the oblique shock wave to upstream direction for the convergent-divergent nozzle with isolator is lower than that for the nozzle without isolator.

  • Maxillectomy is performed to remove the tumor in the palate, maxillary sinus, buccal mucosa or nasal cavity. The resection range depends on the size and the extent of the tumor and it affects speech production or cause nasal regurgitation during feeding. Obturator can occlude an opening such as an oro-nasal fistula and protect the defect area. Successful reconstrucion of the patient's oral cavity who have gone over the maxillectomy is a difficult task. The condition and number of teeth, the remaining support area, and the extent of the defect area have a great influence on manufacturing the obturator. If these factors are disadvantageous, the prognosis of the prosthesis is uncertain. The final obturator must have a sufficient retention in the patient's oral cavity and must not irritate the surrounding tissue and support area where the resection was performed.In this case, a 55 year old female went through the maxillectomy and the only 3 teeth remained. And the retention of the maxillary prosthesis seems to be poor. So that, we fabricated the closed hollow obturator which has reduced weight compared to the conventional obturator. Consequently the closed hollow obturator can give better sealing and the adaptation.

Human Body Tracking and Pose Estimation Using CamShift Based on Kalman Filter and Weighted Search Windows (칼만 필터와 가중탐색영역 CAMShift를 이용한 휴먼 바디 트래킹 및 자세추정)

  • In this paper, we propose Modified Multi CAMShift Algorithm based on Kalman filter and Weighted Search Windows(KWMCAMShift) that extracts skin color area and tracks several human body parts for real-time human tracking system. We propose modified CAMShift algorithm that generates background model, extracts skin area of hands and head, and tracks the body parts. Kalman filter stabilizes tracking search window of skin area due to changing skin area in consecutive frames. Each occlusion areas is avoided by using weighted window of non-search areas and main-search area. And shadows are eliminated from background model and intensity of shadow. The proposed KWMCAMShift algorithm can estimate human pose in real-time and achieves 96.82% accuracy even in the case of occlusions.

  • 최근 MPEG(moving picture experts group)에서 표준화를 진행하고 있는 3차원 비디오 시스템은 다시점 영상과 깊이영상을 동시에 이용하여 사용자가 임의의 시점을 선택하거나 스테레오스코픽 장치와 같은 3차원 영상 재생장 치를 동해 3차원 영상을 제공하는 차세대 방송 시스템이다 제한된 시점수를 이용하여 보다 많은 시점의 영상을 제공하려면 중간시점의 영상을 보간하는 장치가 필수적이다. 이 시스템의 입력정보인 깊이값을 이용하면 시점이동을 쉽게 할 수 있는데, 보간한 영상의 화질은 이 깊이값의 정확도에 따라 결정된다. 깊이맵은 대개 컴퓨터 비전을 기반으로 한 스테레오 정합기술을 이용 획득하는데, 객체의 경계와 같은 깊이값 불연속 영역에서 주로 깊이값 오류가 발생하게 된다. 이런 오류는 생성한 중간영상의 배경에 원치 않는 잡음을 발생시킨다. 기존의 방법에서는 측정한 깊이법의 객체 경계와 영상의 객체 경계가 일치한다는 가정으로 중간영상을 합성했다. 그러나 실제로는 깊이값 측정 과정에서 두 가지 경계가 일치하지 않아 전경의 일부분이 배경으로 합성되어 잡음을 발생하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 깊이맵을 기반으로 중간시점의 영상을 보간할 때 발생하는 경계 잡음을 처리하는 방법을 제안한다. 중간영상을 합성할 때 비폐색 영역을 합성한 후 경계 잡음이 발생할 수 있는 영역을 비폐색 영역을 따라 구별한 다음, 잡음이 없는 참조 영상을 이용함으로써 경계 잡음을 처리할 수 있다. 실험 결과를 통해 배경 잡음이 사라진 자연스러운 합성영상을 생성했다.

  • A sensor and measuring system were implemented to measure two signals that uroflow and urophonography during urination for diagnose the lower urinary tract symptom. The implemented system was composed of the uroflow sensor using the load-cell, the urophonography measurement sensor so as stethoscope type, pre-processing part for sensors signal detection, amplifier and filter, system control parts and PC measurement program. A simulator of the lower urinary system that is experimental equipment implemented for evaluate the implemented system. The two signals were measured using implemented system and analyzed these signal by means of time domain and frequency domain for extraction of the characteristic parameter the most influence of effect according to occlusion of the lower urinary system. Furthermore two signals were measured and analyzed with the subject of 5 healthy adult for clinical application possibility of the implemented system. As a result, the most influence bandwidth of effect according to occlusion of the lower urinary system is $253\sim282Hz$ of the urophonography signal.
