한중콘크리트에 있어서 폐부동액을 이용한 내한제의 효율성에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Effectiveness of Anti-freeze Agent Using Waste Coolant in Cold Weather Concreting)

  • In this paper, tests are carried out in order to investigate the validities of anti-freeze agent, which is developed using waste coolant and existing anti-freeze agent through previous study, under various W/C and contents. According to test results, adequate dosage of developed anti-freeze agent shows positive performance in slump, air content and chloride contents in the mixture of 40% and 50% of W/C, accelerates setting time and drops the freezing temperature of concrete. Meanwhile, in the region of 30% of W/C, followings can be indicated that increasing the contents of anti-freeze agent leads to reduce fluidity, rapid setting and excessive chloride contents. Improved strength gain is shown when anti-freeze agent is used with in 8%.

  • It has been increasingly proving in interest of environment pollution around the world. so, recycling of waste resources are seriously taken into consideration. Great deal of coolant for the car have been wasted for along time. due to the end of life time of them. Therefore, validities of wasted coolant as an agent for concrete are described in this paper. Mechanical properties of concrete using coolant wastes is investigated. As contents of coolant wastes increase, slump and slump flow decrease, while air content show reverse tendency. setting time shows to be accelerated with increase of waste contents. As for the effect of low curing temperature, low curing temperature increase compressive strength with increase of coolant waste. Application of coolant waste to cold weather concrete is considered to achieve favorable effects.

  • In this paper applicabilities of coolant wastes are an admixture, which are produced from cooling line of the cars and industrial engines, to concrete under cold climate are investigated. According to the test results, as the contents f coolant wastes increase, setting time of cement mortar is shown to be delayed. However, when coolants wastes are overadded, it appears to be fast. In case of compressive strength, It tends to decline as the contents of coolant waste increase. Under low curing temperature, compressive strength of cement mortar containing coolant wasted with the increase of the contents of coolants wastes.
