The physicochemical characteristics of manufactured RPF by industrial combustibility waste (사업장 가연성폐기물로 제조된 RPF의 물리화학적 특성)

  • Industrial combustible waste is very valuable source for refuse derived solid fuel since its heating value is usually over 3,000kcal/kg. Especially, synthetic high molecular compound which is high of productivity and heating value is used as raw material in many cases. Film type plastic has been widely used for producing RPF because their shaping is easy and they has high heating value. On the other hand, the possibility of various type of waste as a source for RPF in this study. It has been found that resin compound drived and tire derived solid fuel showed more than 6,000kcal/kg of heating value. But the heating value decreased by adding paper and wood waste.

A Study on the Characteristics of Combustion and Manufacturing Process on Refuse-derived Fuel by Mixing Different Ratios with Organic and Combustible Wastes (유기성폐기물 고체연료화를 위한 연소 및 제조과정의 특성연구)

  • To investigate the feasibility of refuse derived fuels (RDFs) combined of sewage sludge and combustible wastes such as substitutive fuels instead of a stone coal, several different RDFs made with different mixtures of sewage sludge and combustible wastes were analyzed by various experiments. The combustion characteristics for the RDFs were investigated by analyzing fuel gases, and heating values were also measured by a bomb calorimeter. The fundamental properties such as moisture contents, ratios of combustible materials, amounts of ashes, heavy metals, ratios of each chemical elements and heating values were analyzed in accordance with mixing ratios of wt(%) for researching the characteristics of the RDFs. $RDF_{k-1}$ was made of mixing materials which were dried sewage sludge, food wastes and combustible wastes. $RDF_{k-2}$ was made of mixing materials which were peat-moss, tar and sewage sludge. Combustion experiments were carried out at the optimal conditions which were m=2 under air-fuel condition and $850^{\circ}C$. The retention times in the combustor were set at 5, 10 and 15minutes. 50 g of RDFs was put in the combustor for each experiments. The ranges for heating values of $RDF_{k-1}$ with different mixing ratios were from 6,900 kcal/kg to 8120 kcal/kg. The ranges for heating values of $RDF_{k-2}$ with different mixing ratios were from 4,014 kcal/kg to 8,050 kcal/kg. As a result of this study, the heating values, moisture contents, components of chemical elements and mixing ratios of the materials in RDFs had big effects on the efficiency of the combustion. In $RDF_{k-1}$, the higher amounts of combustible wastes in the mixtures, the higher heating values, concentrations of $C_xH_y$ and amounts of ashes were produced. In $RDF_{k-2}$, the higher tar amounts in the mixtures caused the higher heating values, amounts of ashes, concentrations of CO gas and CxHy.

  • Corrosion products are released to the primary coolant in the corrosion process of structural materials. They are deposited on fuel surfaces and activated on exposure to a neutron flux with formation of radionuclides that can become incorporated into out-of-core surface films. To get a clear understanding of activated crud formation process, the specific activity and core residence time of fuel cruds was calculated as a function of exposure time to the core neutron flux on the assumption that parent nuclide is being deposited continuously. Fuel cruds were sampled in the fuel scraping campaign from Hanul Unit 1 Cycle 17 and analyzed for elemental concentration and radioisotope activity.

  • Social Acceptance is important to decide policy of spent nuclear fuel management. The idea of a public sphere as a receptacle of dynamic process is the core in this discussion. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept, participants, the conflict-structure and agreeable conditions of a public sphere. A public sphere means in this paper, mechanism and systems that various stakeholders' and public's participation with spontaneous will can affect decision-making process. For good designing and implementing a public sphere, it is necessary to analysis and cope with political, foreign and security, economic, sociocultural environments, the law and systems around spent nuclear fuel management.

  • 고체연료의 연료특성을 완전히 파악하기는 어렵다. 하지만 기존의 알고있는 자료를 이용해서 고체연료의 연소특성을 예측할 수 있을 것이다. 그래서, 이미 어느 정도 알려져 있는 미분탄의 연소특성을 이용하여 폐기물의 연소특성을 예측하기 위해서 새로운 열중량 분석장치를 개발하게 되었으며, 여기에서는 그 개발절차 및 기초실험 결과를 실었다. 기초실험 결과 미소질량일 경우와 약간의 차이가 발견되었다. 그러나 그 개형은 기존의 자료들과 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 보여진다.

  • 최근에 국내에서 활발히 보급되기 시작한 폐기물 고형연료(Refuse-Derived Fuel : RDF)에 적합한 HCl 배출 저감설비의 개발에 필요한 기본적인 자료를 확보하기 위한 첫 번째 단계로서 RDF 연소시의 HCl 생성 및 저감 특성에 대한 실험실적인 기초 실험을 수행하였다. 개당 무게가 $2{\sim}3\;g$ 정도인 RDF 시료는 실험실적 방법으로 제조하였고, Ca 계통의 흡수제를 선택하여 RDF 중의 Cl 함량 및 원료 조성에 따른 HCl 배출농도 및 흡수제 사용량, Ca/Cl 몰비에 따른 HCl 제거효율, 연소 조건별 생성물질, 반응온도별 HCl 배출농도 및 회재의 Cl 함량, 흡수제별 HCl 저감효율 변화 등을 살펴보았다. 또한 40 kg/hr과 200 kg/hr의 용량을 가진 RDF 연소용 실험설비에서 측정된 HCl 배출농도, RDF의 Cl 함량, 회재 종류별 Cl 함량 분포 등을 기초실험 결과와 비교분석하였다.

  • Numerical study was investigated to obtain the database for developing a fast pyrolysis power boiler by waste fuel. The studies with various conditions were performed using ANSYS FLUENT. Also, the fuel properties was experimentally analyzed to utilize the input parameters for numerical analysis, that were proximate and ultimate analysis, reaction kinetics included pyrolysis and combustion. The results showed that temperature, combustion and exhausted gases was changed with heating value of fuel and feeding rate. Finally, the stable operating condition by analyzing results was proposed.

  • This paper investigates the dehydration and RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) production of organic wastes, livestock manure and sewerage sludge with pressurized hydrothermal treatment process. The renewable technology for the organic wastes must involve short treatment time required, reusable energy source, anti-odor and viruses, low cost for the treatment, and well-fertilization. The pressurized hydrothermal treatment process promotes to evaporate moisture in the waste after being shortly treated in a reactor, which uses steam and heat supplied by an external boiler. By the pressurized steam, the cell walls of the waste break and effectively release the internal moisture. Then, the dried waste can be mixed with waste vinyls to produce RDF with a higher heating value as high as 6,700 kcal/kg.

  • RDF(Refuse-Derived Fuel) is a fuel of pelletized form made of combustible solid wastes and can not only be used as alternative energy to fossil fuel but also solve troubles in thermal uses of incinerator. As the first stage for obtaining elementary data required to develop criteria of raw materials appropriate to RDF combustion facilities actively spread recently in Korea, preliminary experiments were conducted on CO, SOx, NOx and HCl production and reduction characteristics in combustion of RDF. RDF samples weighing 2~3 g per a sample were manufactured in a lab-scale way and combustion tests of RDF were carried out in electric furnace with quartz tube of 50 mm inside diameter.
