Design and fabrication of a Small Microstrip Antenna consisting of Capacitors (용량을 구성한 소형 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 및 제작)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 MSA의 구조를 변형하여 S자형 변형된 MSA를 제안했다. 제안된 안테나는 전기력선 형성에 제한 반지 않도록 방사패치와 접지면을 접어 올린 우측 평행 평판사이 용량을 장하하고, 방사패치를 접어내린 좌측 평행 평판과 접지면 사이 용량을 장하한 구조로 설계 제작하였다. 설계된 안테나는 2.24GHz의 중심 주파수에서 5.7%의 대역폭을 갖고 임의의 급전점의 위치변화에 따라 대역폭과 공진 주파수의 변화를 비교하고, 용량 장하의 크기에 따라 대역폭과 통진 주파수론 비교하였다. 또한 제작된 안테나의 방사 패턴 특성은 E면과 H면의 수직·수평 편파의 특성을 측정하여 비교하였다.

Design of the Parabolic Reflector Antenna with Bended Elliptical Conductor Plate Feed (절곡된 타원형 도체평판 급전부를 갖는 포물선 반사판 안테나 설계)

  • The proposed directional pencil beam antenna consists of a waveguide feeder with bended elliptical conductor plate feed and a parabolic curved reflector. Two rectangular apertures located at the broad wall near the end of the feed waveguide inserted from behind the reflector are located at the focus of the reflector and emit electromagnetic energy with bended elliptical conductor plate. This plate is designed to reflect electromagnetic energy primarily and to face the main reflector. The two rectangular apertures located at the waveguide end have inwardly protruding tabs for impedance matching of the antenna system, the shape of the tabs is a truncated oval. The proposed parabolic reflector antenna has a diameter of 400 mm and a focal length of 134.23 mm. The antenna gain is 33.68 dBi at the center frequency of 16.5 GHz, the beam width is $3.3^{\circ}$ and the reflection loss is -15 dB. Using the HFSS-IE, simulation results are performed to validate the proposed antennas.

Analysis of Radiation Characteristics of Plate-Inserted IBBD Array Antennas (평판이 삽입된 IBBD 배열 안테나의 복사 특성 분석)

  • In this paper, the isolation of the IBBD array antenna is analyzed as functions of the element spacing and the height of the flat plate inserted between array elements for the intelligent antenna system. It is found that the isolation between array elements improves with increasing the array spacing. The array configuration with the plate between the elements is enhanced by about 13 dB more In the isolation than the one without the plate. The plate-inserted $4{\times}4$ elements IBBD array antennas are fabricated and the radiation characteristics are measured and analyzed for the various heights of the plate. It is found that the gain decreases slightly with increasing the height of plate but the shape of radiation pattern does not show a remarkable change.

  • 본 논문에서는 2GHz의 패치폭과 그라운드면의 폭이 같은 QMSA의 구조를 설계 및 제작하였고, QMSA의 구조를 변형하여 용량을 장하한 QMSA와 기생소자를 갖는 QMSA를 제안하였다. QMSA의 구조는 한 쪽 끝이 전기적으로 단락된 λ/4의 구조로 설계하였으며, 용량을 갖는 QMSA는 상측 평행 평판과 하측 평행 평판 사이의 용량을 구성시킴으로써 리턴로스와 공진주파수의 변화를 비교 평가하였다. 또한, 기생소자를 갖는 QMSA의 구조는 상측 평행 평판위에 기생소자를 가변함으로써 안테나를 소형화할 수 있었다. QMSA는 2GHz의 중심주파수를 갖고 2%의 대역폭을 갖으며, 용량의 변화와 기생소자의 길이에 따라 공진주파수의 변화를 보였다.

  • This study designed and fabricated a multi-purpose planar antenna for base stations that are accessible to DCS, WiBro, and ISM. The proposed antenna was designed into an open loop form from the existing monopole structure. The capacitance of the multi-purpose antenna was increased by the coupling of open parts. This makes the use of MMIC and LTCC convenient and the antenna is smaller and has a larger gain than existing antennas. The resonance distance and bandwidth can be adjusted by changing the open gap and the height of the loop of the antenna. The bandwidth of the designed antenna satisfies DCS, IMT-2000, WiBro, Bluetooth, wireless LAN and ISM bands based on VSWR 2. The entire frequency bandwidth is $58.75\%$ of $1.575GHz\~2.985GHz(1.41GHz)$. Also, the radiation pattern of the antenna displayed co-polarization and cross-polarization characteristics at 1.6GHz, 2.3GHz and 2.8GHz.

The Propagation Characteristics of Electromagnetic Waves in accordance with electrode shapes at VHF Band Using an Antenna (안테나를 이용한 VHF대역에서 전극형태에 따른 방사전자파의 전파특성)

  • In this paper, electromagnetic waves radiated from discharge at three-type electrodes(needle-plane, plane-plane and sphere-plane electrode) using AC power source in air are measured and the peculiar patterns of their spectra are reported. The radiated electromagnetic waves were measured in bandwidth of VHF(30-230[MHz]) using a biconical antenna and a spectrum analyzer. When the discharge onset voltage range, high electric field intensity is shown in frequency band of 45, 70, 80[MHz] in case of needle-plane electrode configuration and 40[MHz] in case of plane-plane and sphere-plane electrodes configuration. However, when the breakdown voltage range, the frequency spectrum distribution of radiated electromagnetic waves appear different in the whole frequency range according to the shapes of electrode.

A Design of Wide band Dual Folded Microstrip Antennas (광대역 이중 폴디드 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a single plane wide band microstrip antenna for integrated circuit as MMIC and LTCC is designed and fabricated. A new configuration for a wide band microstrip antenna with omni-directional pattern is proposed. This antenna consists of two rectangular folded dipoles, which are fed by a coplanar waveguide(CPW). It was effected stabilization ground that a signal plane of CPW feed have been limited ground plane. Therefore, a ground plane of folded structure should be extended outside folded antenna in this research. The characteristics of the proposed antenna were analyzed by using an FDTD methods. The return loss and radiation patterns were simulated and measured. The proposed antenna is get 120MHz bandwidth of PCS band and 250MHz bandwidth of IMT2000 band, used ISM band.

  • In this paper, a new planar folded UHF band RFID reader antenna is suggested. For the antenna suggested in this paper, 4 PIFA (Planar Inverted F Antenna) micro-strip structures are adopted. The size is $50mm{\times}50mm{\times}6.2mm$. The gain of the antenna is 1.1 dBi, the VSWR is 1.2:1, and the efficiency is 63.3 %. The radiation pattern is designed as upper direction. Identification distance for the RFID tags is improved by minimizing hand effects with properly integrating 4 PIFAs.

  • In this paper, we proposed the internal antenna on PCB(Planar Circuit Board) for achieving WWAN(Wireless Wide Area Network) operation in the laptop computer. The proposed antenna has a metal structure instead of printed pattern on PCB to improve the antenna characteristics for GSM850/900 bands. Compared to PCB embedded antenna without metal structure, the proposed antenna occupies similar area of $74{\times}11{\times}0.5\;mm^3$ with before and the bandwidth of the proposed one for GSM850/900 bands is increased 13 MHz than before. Further we confirmed that the proposed antenna has higher radiation gain of -4.45~-2.29 dBi for GSM850/900 bands than PCB embedded antenna without metal structure.

  • 안테나를 소형화하면 안테나의 복사효율이 저하되고, 대역폭이 좁아지며, 안테나 이득이 작아진다는 사실은 잘 알려져 있다. 그러나 이런 전기적 성능저하에도 불구하고 최근 무선통신 시스템의 소형화와 고성능화에 따라 안테나의 소형화 및 광대역화가 끊임없이 요구되고 있다. 여기서는 이런 요구에 부응하기 위하여 소형 안테나의 종류와 소형화시 나타나는 문제점을 확인하고 선형 안테나와 평판 안테나를 중심으로 소형화 및 광대역화 기법을 소개하고 고찰하였다.
