평면연삭 공정에서의 표면 거칠기 기상계측 (On-the-machine measurement of surface roughness in a surface grinding process)

  • This paper deals with an on-the-machine measurement method for roughness of ground surface by using flux ratio of scattered lights. A sensor and control unit is developed so as to e applied to surface grinding processes. The performance of the sensor is compared with that of stylus. The experimental investigation shows that not onlythe sensor has good performance as a surface roughness sensor but alsothe sensor is very useful for monitoring grinding condition in order to detect ill-conditioned grinding or dressing time.

성형용 코어면 DLC 코팅에 의한 비구면 Glass렌즈 광학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optical Properties of Aspheric Glass Lens using DLC Coated molding core)

  • 본 연구에서는 성형용 코어 가공에서 초경합금(WC, Co 0.5%)의 초정밀 가공특성을 파악하기 위하여 다이아몬드 휠의 메시, 주축 회전속도, 터빈 회전속도, 이송속도 및 연삭깊이에 따른 표면거칠기를 측정하여 최적연삭조건을 규명하였다. 규명된 최적연삭가공조건을 활용하여 페러렐 연삭법으로 초정밀 연삭가공을 수행하였다. 연삭가공은 초정밀가공기(ASP01, Nachi-Fujikoshi Co., Japan)를 사용하였다. 최종 정삭가공을 수행한 비구면 성형용 코어의 형상측정결과 형상정도(PV; ${\varphi}$ 3.0mm) 0.15${\mu}m$(비구면), 0.10${\mu}m$(평면)으로 3M급 이상의 고화질 카메라폰에 채용되고 있는 비구면 Glass렌즈 양산용 성형용 코어 규격에 만족한 결과로서 본 연구에 수행된 초정밀 가공조건 및 측정방법이 매우 유효함을 알 수 있었다. 형상정도(PV) 및 표면조도(Ra) 측정은 초정밀 자유곡면 측정기(UA3P, Panasonic Co., Japan)와 3차원 표면조도 측정기(NewView5000, Zygo Co., USA)를 각각 사용하였다. 초정밀 가공된 성형용 코어면에 이온증착법을 활용하여 DLC 코팅을 수행하였다. 코팅 전후의 성형용코어를 활용하여 Glass소재(K-BK7, Sumita Co., Japan)를 최적의 성형조건(성형온도, 압력, 냉각속도)으로 성형하였다. DLC 코팅과 성형은 DLC 코팅기(NC400, Nanotech Co., Japan)와 Glass렌즈 성형기(Nano Press-S, Sumitomo Co., Japan)을 각각 사용하였다. Fig. 1은 초정밀 연삭가공, DLC 코팅막 구조, 코팅된 성형용 코어, 그리고, 성형된 비구면Glass렌즈를 각각 나타낸다.

  • The study is concerned with the investigation of grinding factor affecting the AE Source by means of the relation between the amplitude level of AE signal and the depth of wheel engagement in surface grinding by AE method. As the result, work velocity was confirmed that the amplitude of AE signal had almost constant value in comparison with the depth of wheel engagement. But the depth of wheel engagement and the width of wheel engagement were proportional to the amplitude of AE signal. Therefore, when the AE Source was classified by 3-zone, Ws and Wf were affected by the depth of wheel engagement and that Wr was affected by the width of wheel engagement. Also, the adaptability of the AE method was studied about the detection of tool life of grinding wheel, sparkout and initial contact point.

  • Grinding process has unique characteristics compared with other machining processes. The cutting edges of the grinding wheel don't have uniformity and act differently on the workpiece at each grinding. The response surface analysis is one of various methods for optimizing and evaluating the process parameters to achieve the desired output. In this study, the effect of the grinding parameters on outcomes of the surface grinding was analyzed experimently. To predict the grinding outcomes and to select the grinding conditions before grinding, the second-order response surface models for the grinding force and the surface roughness were developed.

  • Surface roughness is one of the most important characteristics in machining processes. This study presents probabilistic models to estimate surface roughness experimentally in multi-pass horizontal surface grinding operations from three independent distributions such as the initial surface roughness distributions of workpiece, the distributions of the wheel radius, and the distributions of distances between major active grains. To specify the model characteristics from surface roughness measurements, either the probability satisfying a given surface roughness or the range of surface roughness satisfying a given probability have been estimated while grinding conditions are fixed. Finally, the relationship between grinding conditions satisfying surface roughness range under a given probability can be established.

  • An estimation of surface roughness value is a very important and difficult issue in grinding process. The definition of the D.A.R.F(Dimensionless Average Roughness Factor) has been made including the absolute average and tile standard deviation that are the parameters of the AE(Acoustic Emission) sign. The theoretical equation of the surface roughness applying the D.A.R.F has been derived from the regressive analysis and specified with respect to the availability through the experimental approach on the machine.

평면연삭반에서 난삭재의 ELID연삭 (ELID Grinding of Hard-To-Machine Materials on Surface Grinder)

  • The grinding for hard-to-machine materials, such as ceramics, super alloys etc., has proven to be a very difficult and consuming process utilizing ordinary methods. In order to conduct high efficiency machining of such materials, grinding processes using metallic bond diamond wheels and applying electrolytic in-process dressing(ELID) have been attempted on a surface grinding machine. In this study, the effects of grinding parameters, and grit sizes have been evaluated in view of surface roughness, grinding force as well as step difference in simultaneous grinding of different materials. The study and experimental results are presented in this paper.

블랙 알루미나의 연삭가공에 관한 연구 (Study on grinding of the black alumina)

  • 반도체 시장에서 소재 개발 및 제조 공법에 대한 연구는 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 일반적으로 자동 로봇용 End Effector는 알루미나(Al2O3)와 탄화규소(SiC) 등의 세라믹이 사용되었다. 본 연구는 대량생산이 가능한 분말 성형 프레스 법을 통해 반도체 현장에서 사용되는 블랙 알루미나를 개발하였다. 그리고 알루미나와 블랙 알루미나를 자동 로봇의 End Effector에 적용될 수 있도록 평면 연삭기를 사용하여 연삭가공을 실시하였다. 연삭가공을 통해 블랙 알루미나 대한 표면 거칠기(Ra)를 비교·분석하여 최적의 절삭 조건을 확인 할 수 있었다. 알루미나 표면 거칠기는 이송 속도가 0.72mm/sec이고 회전수가 1,700 rpm에서 0.4876 ㎛로 가장 양호하였다. 블랙 알루미나 표면 거칠기는 대부분의 절삭 조건에서 0.2 ㎛이하의 정밀도를 나타내었으며, 이송 속도가 0.72mm/sec이고 회전수가 1,900 rpm에서 0.1364 ㎛로 가장 양호하였다. 블랙 알루미나의 표면 거칠기는 알루미나 보다 0.35 ㎛ ~ 0.47 ㎛ 정도 양호하였다.

평면연삭시 복합검출방법에 의한 숫돌마멸 예측 (Prediction of Wheel Wear when Surface Grinding by Dual Detection Methods)

  • An experimental study on the prediction of grinding wheel wear by dual detection methods was conducted by the laser displacement and acoustic emission(AE) system. The laser displacement sensor was located above the head of the grinding wheel and the AE sensor was set under the workpiece, where the wheel were condition can be detected. It was found that the dual detection methods by laser displacement system and AE system made it possible to predict the wheel wear. From the experiments, the root mean square(RMS) values both methods was found to be proportional to the grinding wheel wear.

  • This paper describes the automation of the surface grinder for a grinding wheel by application of programmable logic controller(PLC) with a position sensor, and a limit switch. The control system is designed to provide feeding a workpiece on the turn table and pressing it by the upper disk automatically. In this development the automation of checking the thickness of a grinding wheel is most important. In order to measure the relative displacement, the proximity sensors were employed and the sensitivities of the sensors were investicated and discussed the superiority. It has been shown by model experiment that the automation system of the surface grinder is performed satisfactory.
