Development of Allometric Equations for V Age-class Pinus koraiensis in Mt. Taehwa Plantation, Gyeonggi-do (경기도 태화산 V 영급 잣나무(Pinus koraiensis) 조림지의 지상부 바이오매스 상대생장식 개발)

  • Allometric equations for leaf, branch, stem and total above ground biomass of Pinus koraeinsis trees were developed with diameter at breast height(DBH) of trees, which were growing in a pine plantation with the stand density of 410 tree $ha^{-1}$ and the average DBH of $29.1{\pm}5.2$ cm in Mt. Taewha, Gyeonggi. Damage by Acantholyda parki reduced leaf biomass compared to other studies, however, its contribution to total biomass was minimal among parts. Comprehensive analysis revealed that constant in allometric equation for total above ground biomass (logY=a + blogX) was affected by average DBH and stand density, however, constant b was not. At the stand level, biomass for leaf, brach, stem, total above ground biomass were 6.68 Mg $ha^{-1}$, 18.82 Mg $ha^{-1}$, 101.02 Mg $ha^{-1}$, 126.53 Mg $ha^{-1}$, respectively. We developed a Korean pine stand biomass regression, which explained about 98% of variation with DBH and stand density based on comprehensive analysis.

The Effect of Lung Volume on the Size and Volume of Pulmonary Subsolid Nodules on CT: Intraindividual Comparison between Total Lung Capacity and Tidal Volume (전산화단층촬영에서 폐 반고형결절의 크기와 용적에 호흡이 미치는 영향: 개인 내 전폐용량과 일호흡량 간 비교)

  • Purpose To examine the effect of lung volume on the size and volume of pulmonary subsolid nodules (SSNs) measured on CT. Materials and Methods A total of 42 SSNs from 31 patients were included. CT examination was first performed at total lung capacity (TLC), and a section containing the nodule was additionally scanned at tidal volume (TV). The diameter and volume of each SSN, as well as the cross-sectional lung area containing the nodule, were measured. The significance of the changes in measurements between TLC and TV within the same individuals was evaluated. Results The lung area and the diameter and volume of SSNs decreased significantly at TV by 12.7 cm2, 0.5 mm, and 46.4 mm3 on average, respectively (p < 0.001), compared to those at TLC. Changes in lung area between TV and TLC were positively correlated with the change in SSN diameter (p = 0.027) and volume (p = 0.014). However, after correction (by considering the change in lung area), the changes in SSN diameter (p = 0.124) and volume (p = 0.062) were not significantly different. Conclusion SSN size and volume can be significantly affected by lung volume during CT scans of the same individuals.

  • This study was conducted to provide appropriate tending operation strategies for the natural deciduous forest, by the method of evaluating the stand quality, suggesting the removal plan for the undesirable trees, and predicting improvement cutting practice by tree quality evaluation. The results showed that average number of trees per ha was 717 stems, average DBH was 21.1cm. and average height was 13.6m. Canopy dominant species were in the order of Quercus serrata, Q. variabilis, Q. mongolica, Styrax obassia, and Ulmus davidiana var. japonica. Based on grades of four tree form factors for all tree in the study plots, we estimate the change of tree numbers. DBH and height with the improvement cutting by different tree grade. When the higher tree grade was applied to tending operation, the number of stem was decreased, but the values of DBH and height were not changed much, predicted to improve the stand quality.

  • 현재 축산농가에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 곡류, 조사료 및 부산물을 활용하여 사료의 자급율을 높이는 것은 농가의 소득증대를 위하여 바람직한 일이다. 이러한 사료의 자급자족 체계를 위하여 소형이며 조작이 간편한 사료분쇄기가 요구된다. 따라서 농가에 많이 보급되어 있는 5~10 마력 (3.7-7.5 kw)의 동력경운기에 의하여 작동될 수 있는 소형 햄머타입의 사료분쇄기 시작기를 설계 제작하였다. 그리고 시작기의 성능을 분석하기 위하여 보리, 옥수수, 볏짚, 건초를 사료로 하여 시료의 공급율과 스크린의 구멍크기를 변화시켜가며 실험을 수행하였다. 이상과 같은 햄머 밀 시작기의 설계 및 성능시험을 통하여 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 시작기의 평균분쇄능력은 보리의 경우 평균입자직경이 543 마이크론일 때 $82.7kg/kw{\cdot}h$였으며, 옥수수의 경우에는 평균입자직경이 408 마이크론일 때 $132.7kg/kw{\cdot}h$였다. 2. 최대 공급율로 분쇄할 때 소요동력은 보리의 경우 1.9kw, 옥수수의 경우 5.3kw, 볏짚의 경우 1.5kw, 건초의 경우 1.6kw을 필요로 하였으며, 5-10 마력(3.7-7.5kw)의 동력경운기로 개발된 햄머 밀을 작동함에는 별 문제가 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 3. 시작기로 시료를 분쇄할 때 곡류 분쇄는 물론 조사료 분쇄도 가능한 것으로 분석되었다. 4. 시작기에 의해 시료를 분쇄했을 때 분쇄물의 평균온도 상승폭은 $7.2-10.0^{\circ}C$였다. 이러한 온도는 분쇄물의 영양소 파괴및 저장상의 안정성을 고려할 때 안전한 범위의 온도상승으로 판단되었다. 5. 원료공급율과 스크린 구멍크기가 분쇄량과 분쇄정도에 5% 수준에서 유의성 있는 영향을 미쳤다.

  • We use Memory function to examine the thermal conductivity as a function of the temperature in single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT). We determine the Umklapp, normal and SWNT-substrate phonon scattering rate from the computed inverse spin relaxation time. Thermal conductivity increased as the diameter increased when we assumed that the zigzag (10,0) transition was a more dominant phonon scattering than the (9,0) transition.

  • The influence of fuel spray characteristics on engine performance has been known as one of the major concerns to Improve fuel economy and to reduce exhaust emissions. In general, the UBHC(Unburned Hydrocarbon) emission could be reduced by decreasing the droplet size of the fuel sprays. In PFI (Port Fuel Injection) gasoline engines, the mixture of air and fuel would not be uniform under a certain condition, because the breakup and production of spray droplets are made in a short distance between the fuel injector and intake valve sheat. In this study, were investigated the transient spray characteristics and dynamic behavior of droplets from 2holes-2sprays and 4holes-2sprays type injectors used in PFI gasoline engine. Mean droplet size and optical concentration were measured by LDPA (Laser Diffraction Particle size Analyzer). The variation of droplet mean diameter and optical concentration were measured for understanding the behavior of unsteady spray.

Structure of Old Tree Community in Gabsa Valley, Kyeryongsan National Park (계룡산국립공원 갑사 계곡 노거수군집의 식생구조)

  • 본 연구는 계룡산국립공원 갑사 계곡에 위치하는 낙엽활엽노거수군집의 식생군집구조를 부석하기 위하여 18개의 Belt-transect를 설정하여 조사하였다. 노거수군집 전체면적은 $46.442\m^2$이었고, 이 중 노거수가 차지하는 면적은 $35.246\m^2$이었으며, 대표적인 현존식생은 느티나무군집, 팽나무군집, 회화나무군집, 소나무군집, 말채나무군집이었다. 노고수의 규 은 흉고직경이 50~120cm, 수고가 18~22m 이었으며, 흉고직경 70cm이상되는 수종은 소나무(1주), 느티나무(9주), 갈참나무(8주), 졸참나무(1주), 회화나무(2주), 말채나무(1주)이었고, 본 조사 대상지의 평균수령은 150년생 내외이었다. 18개 조사구에 대하여 DCA의 ordination 분석결과 소나무군집, 느타나무-낙엽활엽수군집, 검팽나무-낙엽활엽수군집, 회화나무군집, 말채나무군집, 팽나무군집으로 분리되었다. 교모측의 우점종감의 평균거리는 8~12m이었고, Shannon의 종다양도는 0.7~0.9(단위면적:$200\m^2$_이었다.X>_이었다.

  • 계룡산국립공원 연천봉고개(해발 700m)를 중심으로 남향사면인 시원사~원천봉고개와 북향사면인 갑사~연천봉고개를 대상으로 사면방향과 해발고에 따른 교목층과 아교목층의 산림구조를 조사분석하였다. 남향사면은 북향사면에 비하여 교목측의 밀도는 높은 반면 평균흉고직경은 작았다. 특수한 지형인 주능선부에 위치하는 정부를 제외하며, 해발고가 높아짐에 따라 교목층과 아교목층 전체의 평균흉고직경과 흉고단면적인 남향사면에서는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 북향사면은 남향사면에 비하여 교목층과 아교목층 전체의 동다양도와 균재고가 높았다. 남향사면에서 해발고가 높아짐에 따라 중요치가 증가하는 수종은 느티나무, 졸참나무, 까지박달, 신갈나무등이었으며, 중요치가 감소하는 수종은 굴참나무, 서어나무, 때죽나무 등이었다. 북향사면의 경우 해발고가 높아짐에 따라 중요치가 증가하는 수종은 까치박달, 쪽동백나무 등이며, 중요치가 감소하는 수종은 때죽나무, 졸참나무 등이었다. Cluster 분석결과 남향사면중, 하부의 굴참나무-낙엽활엽수군집지, 남향사면 상부와 북향사면상, 중의 신갈나무-낙엽활엽수군집, 북향사면 하부와 정부의 신갈나무-소나무군집 등 3개 군집으로 구분되었다. 굴참나무, 산벚나무, 밤나무 등 3개 수종간에는 유의적인 정의 상관이 있었으며, 유의적인 정의 상관을 보인 굴참나무, 산벚나무, 밤나무 등 3개 수종은 당당풍과 유의적인 부의 상관이 있었다.

  • Aluminum, which is a metal fuel contained in the composite solid propellant, is not ignited and burned on the combustion surface by the oxide film, and it partially melts and coalesces with surrounding aluminum particles. For the evaluation and design of the propellant performance, modeling was performed to predict the size and distribution of agglomerated particles, and the size and distribution of agglomerates were compared and verified through experiment. The predicted values showed the tendency to decrease with pressure as in the experiment, but the error increased as the pressure increased. The agglomerated particle distribution graph showed a difference in the volume fraction although the diameter at the peak was the same.

Effect of Gravel Size on Shear Behavior of Sand with Dispersed Gravels (모래 지반 내에 포함된 자갈의 크기가 전단거동에 미치는 영향)

  • A large number of small particles may surround large gravels which are non-contact and dispersed within the ground. The strength of such soil may be influenced by the mechanical properties of a few coarse gravels. A specimen or gravel size can impact the shear characteristics of sand with dispersed gravels. In this study, the size of gravel and specimen varies and its effect on shear characteristics of a granular soil was evaluated. Five sizes of gravels with 7, 12, 15, 18, and 22 mm were used repeatedly and inserted in the middle of each compacted layer. A specimen consists of five or ten equal layers depending on gravel size, which is 5 cm or 10 cm in diameter and 10 cm or 20 cm in height. An embedded gravel ratio by weight is 3% and constant for all cases with gravel. After consolidation, a series of undrained triaxial compression tests under three confining pressures was performed on sand with dispersed gravels. The maximum deviator stress of a specimen with 10 cm in diameter was at average 30% higher than that with 5 cm in diameter and increased up to 90% for a specimen with gravel. When a gravel size of 7 and 12 mm used, the maximum deviator stress of a specimen with 10 cm in diameter was higher than that of one without gravel, whereas the maximum deviator stress of a specimen with 5 cm was higher or lower than that without gravel. The gravel size and specimen diameter influenced the undrained behavior of sand. The maximum deviator stress of a specimen with gravel either increased or decreased compared to that without gravel, depending on the ratio of gravel size to specimen diameter, 1/5.
