Monitoring the Sugar Content and Intake in School Meals from Incheon and Chuncheon (인천, 춘천 지역 학교급식 메뉴의 당 함량 및 당 섭취량 실태조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the content and consumption of total sugar from school lunches at Incheon and Chuncheon. The samples were collected from eight elementary schools and eight middle schools in Incheon and Chuncheon for 15 days. The analysis of total sugar content was performed for 1334 main dishes, side dishes, and desserts, which were supplied by elementary and middle school foodservices. Total sugar content was extracted from various types of food with 50% ethanol after defatting. We simultaneously analyzed sugars such as fructose, glucose, sucrose, maltose, and lactose by a high performance liquid chromatography with refractive index detector. The average lunch intake for elementary school and middle school students was $372.6{\pm}72.2g$ and $449.2{\pm}81.1g$, respectively. The total sugar content in desserts was $7.21{\pm}6.32g/100g$, $1.69{\pm}2.44g/100g$ in side dishes, and $0.32{\pm}0.77g/100g$ in main dishes. Among side dishes, fried foods, stir-fried foods, and sauces contained the highest amounts of total sugar. The total sugar intake was $4.63{\pm}5.11g$ in desserts, $0.64{\pm}1.01g$ in side dishes, and $0.55{\pm}1.48g$ in main dishes. Main and side dishes with a high total sugar intake included cooked rice with seasoning, fried foods, stir-fried foods, and preserved foods. The average total sugar intake per meal for elementary school, middle school, and all students was $4.03{\pm}3.67g$, $6.97{\pm}6.59g$, and $5.50{\pm}5.53g$, respectively. We have provided useful information to decrease the intake of total sugar in school lunches. It is recommended that total sugar intake be continuously monitored.

  • This paper presents an analysis of the instability phenomenon on motorways, with the aim of arriving at the definition of a control strategy suitable for keeping the flow stable. By using some results of the motorway reliability theory, a relationship and some flow characteristics is obtained, which shows that the existence of a reliability threshold critical for flow stability. The macroscopic flow characteristics corresponding to this threshold are very different in different situations, so that this control of flow stability requires the analysis of speed and density microscopic process surveyed on a cross section of the motorway carriage ways to be controlled. A method is presented, based on integrated moving average(IMA) analysis in real time of these processes, by which it is possible to detect the approach of instability before its effects become manifest, and to single out the proper control strategy in different situations.

  • 위성 및 드론을 이용한 원격탐사 기술이 발전하고 다양한 산출물이 나타남에 따라 수자원 및 하천관리 분야에서 원격탐사기술 활용의 폭이 넓어지고 있다. 원격탐사 영상에서 획득할 수 있는 기본적인 가시영상 이외에도 적외영상, 초분광영상, 수위정보, 레이더 반사도 등을 활용하여 하천정보를 추정하려는 시도가 이루어져왔다. 본 연구에서는 원격탐사 영상에서 획득한 하폭을 기반으로 수리학적 하천유량산정을 기법을 적용하기 위해 등류 및 부등류 해석이 가능한 알고리즘과 프로그램을 개발하였다. 등류해석을 위해 GUI 기반 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 특정 하폭에서의 하천유량을 신속하게 계산할 수 있도록 단면 특성분석 모듈과 운동파 방정식 기반의 Manning 유속공식이 적용되도록 구성하였다. 또한, 부등류해석을 위해 스크립트기반의 프로그램을 개발하였다. 부등류 해석 프로그램에는 하천유량을 경계조건으로 수위를 계산하는 일반적인 부등류 수면곡선식의 해석절차를 하폭기반 원격하천 유량 산정 목적에 맞게 재구성하여 원격탐사기술로 획득한 하폭을 경계조건으로 하천 유량을 시산하는 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 본 프로그램을 활용하여 한국건설기술연구원 하천실험센터에서 드론을 이용한 등류/부등류 실험결과를 해석하였으며, 등류 흐름조건에서는 두 가지 해석방법 각각 14.3%, 14.7%의 유사한 평균상대오차를 나타내었고 부등류 흐름조건에서는 등류해석은 62.6%, 부등류해석은 15.8%의 평균상대오차를 나타내었다. 실규모하천에서의 원격하천유량 산정을 위해서는 등류기반 해석방법에 비해 비균일 하천단면에서의 부등류 현상을 모의할 수 있는 하폭기반 부등류 수면곡선의 시산 알고리즘이 유리한 것으로 판단된다.

Distribution Pattern of Polychaete Worms on the Continental Shelf and Slope of the East Sea (Southwestern Sea of Japan), Korea (한국 동해 대륙붕 및 대륙사면에서의 다모류 분포)

  • This study was carried out to obtain some informations on the species composition and distribution pattern of Polychate community on the continental shelf and slope area in the East Sea. Fauna samples were collected from three sampling cruises in April of 1985, and April and October of 1987. Total 112 polychaete taxa included in 36 families were collected. Dominant species in the study area were Chaetozone setosa, Aglaophamus malmgreni, Ampharete arctica Terebellides horikoshii, Tharyx sp., and Magelona pacifica. Northern and cold water species were major contributors of polychaete communities in this study area. Dominant species showed their specific depth ranges from shelf area to upper slope and middle slope depth. The overall density was 300 indiv./m$\^$2/ and species richness was around 12 species/0.2m$\^$2/. Significant changes in mean polychaete density and species richness along depth gradient were found approximately at 600 m or deeper depth. Among physical factors, water depth, temperature and clay content, mean grain size were significantly correlated with the mean density of dominant species.

Investigation on Prediction Methods for a Rotor Averaged Inflow in Forward Flight (전진비행하는 회전익기 로터의 평균 유입류 예측기법 연구)

  • Prediction methods for a rotor averaged inflow in forward flight are investigated in this study. The investigated methods are Drees linear inflow model, Mangler & Squire model and free vortex wake(FVW) method. Predictions have been performed for a four-blade rotor operating at three different advance ratios i.e. 0.15, 0.23 and 0.30, at which experimental data are available. According to results, Drees model has a limitation for the inflow non-uniformity prediction due to an inherent linear characteristics. Mangler & Squire model has a reasonable accuracy except the disk edge region. KARI FVW method has very good accuracy and has better accuracy than the other FVW method especially in inboard region. However, there are some discrepancies in retreating side due to the dynamic stall effect and in near hub region due to the fuselage upwash effect.

  • 본 연구는 DEVS를 기반으로 개발된 교통류 시뮬레이션 시스템인 $\ulcorner$I$^3$D$^2$ 교통류 시뮬레이션 시스템$\lrcorner$(이하 I$^3$D$^2$)의 검증을 그 목적으로 한다. I$^3$D$^2$는 본 연구진이 DEVS를 기반으로 개발한 범용 시뮬레이션 도구로써, 이미 서울시 강남 신호교차로와 내부순환로를 대상으로 하여 개발된 내용을 발표한 바 있다. I$^3$D$^2$는 헌재 단속류에서의 최적신호 생성 및 대기행렬 예측 문제, 그리고 연속류 시설의 용량 산정 문제등을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다. 하지만 아직 문헌자료나 현장 데이터를 토대로 한 충분한 검증이 수행되지 못한 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 문헌자료를 토대로, I$^3$D$^2$를 검증한다. 이를 위하여 고속도로 또는 도시고속도로와 같은 연속 교통류의 대표적인 효과척도인 $\ulcorner$교통량 - 밀도 - 평균주행속도 (시간)$\lrcorner$ 간의 상관관계를 이용하여 미국 HCM과 우리나라의 도로용량편람에 정의되어 있는 기준을 토대로 I$^3$D$^2$ 검증을 수행하였다. 모델링은 서울시 올림픽대로의 양화대교 - 성산대교 - 가양대교 구간을 대상으로 했으며, 검증은 교통량에 따라 크게 3가지 교통류 상태(random, intermediate, constant)를 기준으로 시뮬레이션이 각각의 교통상태에서 예측한 평균주행시간의 정확도를 측정하면서 수행하였다. 검증 결과 random 상태에서는 문헌자료에 부합되는 예측결과를 보여주었으나, intermediate와 constant 상태에서는 문헌보다 다소 낮은 속도를 보여주었다 이러한 속도차는 추후 현장 데이터를 수집하여 보다 실질적인 검증을 통하여 조정되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Useful Insects : Study on Behavior of Fruits Feeding and Ovipositional Characterization of Its Adult in Pylocoelia rufa (유용곤충 산업화를 위한 늦반딧불이 유충의 과일류에 대한 섭식행동과 성충의 산란특성 연구)

  • This study was conducted at rearing room to investigate the feeding behavior of fruits in the firefly (Pylocoelia rufa) larvae and the ovipositional characteristics of the adults. As a result, the pear, apple, melon, persimmon, mandarin, grape and peach were shown the feeding behavior of larvae the average 6.40, 3.25, 2.50, 2.20, 2.00, 1.40 and 1.25, respectively. However, the larvae were not shown at all feeding behavior to banana. The hours feeding behavior of firefly larvae was primarily from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am. In addition, the time at which the voracious feeding behavior was until 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm. The 6:00 pm began whisking all the larvae are hiding in the shelter. In the case of the firefly larvae fed only the edible snail, the adults were oviposition an average $49{\pm}6$ eggs. At that time larva stage, adults of the firefly eating the pears, apples, melon and eat edible snail at the same time there were oviposition the $53{\pm}7$ on average. In the case of fruits, the pears, apples, and melons has been considered worthy to take the firefly larva fed with the current land snails.

Investigation of microbial contamination in meal kit products purchased via online shopping (온라인에서 구매한 밀키트 제품의 미생물 오염도 조사)

  • In this study, the delivery conditions and microbial contamination in Mille-feuille Nabe and fresh spring roll meal kits purchased online were assessed. The average surface temperature on the product arrival was 14.4℃. The average number of total aerobic bacteria and coliforms in Mille-feuille Nabe was 3.27 log CFU/g and 1.27 log CFU/g, respectively, in meat, and 6.66 log CFU/g and 2.94 log CFU/g, respectively, in vegetables. The average number of total aerobic bacteria and coliforms in fresh spring rolls was 3.82 log CFU/g and 1.93 log CFU/g in meat, and 5.62 log CFU/g and 3.31 log CFU/g in vegetables, respectively. Escherichia coli was detected in bok choy and perilla leaves, with an average of 0.86 log CFU/g. Salmonella spp. and E. coli O157:H7 were not detected in any of the samples; however, Listeria monocytogenes was detected in all three beef samples. Therefore, before consuming meal kits, sufficient washing and heating are recommended to prevent occurrences of food poisoning.

Risk Assessment of Lead and Cadmium through Mushrooms (버섯류 중 납, 카드뮴 위해성 평가)

  • The present study was carried out in order to assess the dietary exposure as well as the risk for lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) exposure through mushrooms among the Korean population. Various samples (n=536) covering 17 kinds of mushrooms were collected from retail outlets and markets in Korea. The contents of Pb were 0.005 (King oyster)-0.026 (Matsutake) mg/kg in raw mushrooms and 0.014 (Oyster)-16.411 (Manna lichen) mg/kg in dry mushrooms, respectively. The contents of Cd were 0.002 (Enoki)-0.205 (Hericium erinaciium) mg/kg in raw mushrooms and 0.021 (Vegetable worms)-2.650 (Agaricus blazei Muill) mg/kg in dry mushrooms, respectively. The mean dietary exposure of Pb for the general population was $0.053{\mu}g/day$, taking 0.03% of provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI). The mean dietary exposure of Cd for the general population was $0.168{\mu}g/day$, corresponding to 0.37% of provisional tolerable monthly intake (PTMI). Therefore, the level of the overall dietary exposure to heavy metals through mushroom for the Korean population was far below the recommended JECFA levels, indicating little possibility of concern.

Contents and Estimated Intakes of Trans Fatty Acids in Korean Diet (한국인의 식품 중 트란스 지방산의 함량과 섭취량 추정)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the fundamental information for establishing the database needed to estimate total intakes of trans fatty acids in Korea. The amounts of trans fatty acids contained in 164 samples including 25 samples of margarines, 21 samples of shortenings, 19 samples of vegetable salad and cooking oils, 53 samples of confectionery products, 18 samples of bakery products, 19 samples of dairy products, and 9 samples of animal fats and meats were analyzed by capillary gas liquid chromatography. The average amounts of trans fatty acids in those foods were calculated and expressed as gram per one serving. Then, the average daily intakes of trans fatty acids per capita were estimated using the analyzed amounts of trans fatty acids and the amount of yearly production for those foods. The amounts of trans fatty acids per 100 g of lipids were $2.11{\sim}33.83%$ (14.66% on average) in margarines, $1.47{\sim}44.48%$ (14.21% on average) in shortenings, $0.18{\sim}3.82$ (1.54% on average) in vegetable salad and cooking oils, $0{\sim}45.81%$ (10.92% on average) in confectionery products, $0{\sim}18.32%$ (7.87% on average) in bakery products, $0.90{\sim}4.54%$ (2.27% on average) in dairy products, and $0.61{\sim}6.07%$ (2.24% on average) in animal fats and meats. Major isomers of trans fatty acid in the sample foods were $C_{18:1}$ and $C_{18:2}$. As a result, the korean average daily intake of trans fatty acids in korea was estimated to be 2.3 g per capita. The amounts of trans fatty acids consumed from each selected food were as follows: 0.35 g from margarines, 0.57 g from shortenings, 0.11 g from vegetable salad and cooking oils, 0.65 g from confectionery products, 0.07 g from bakery products, 0.14 g from dairy products and 0.21 g from animal fats and meats.
