Developing an Instrument to Evaluate Habitual Physical Activity Level of Elementary School-aged Children in Large Populations: A Preliminary Study (초등학생의 일상적 신체활동 측정 도구 개발을 위한 예비조사)

  • Objectives: This study is an explorative study for developing an instrument to measure habitual physical activity level of school-aged children. Methods: HPAQ-S consists of 41 items and a self-reported 5-day recall instrument designed to assess habitual physical activity level for school-aged children. For the validity and reliability test, a sample consisted of 28 children, aged 10-11 years old. Results: 41 question items showed an acceptable internal consistency (cronbach's alpha=.89). A significant positive correlation with the pedometer results (r=.69, p<.001) and with Borg's questionnaire (r=.76, p<.001) support the validity of HPAQ-S. Conclusion: HPAQ-S may be more useful for measuring habitual physical activity level of elementary school-aged children in large populations.

Design of Validation System for a Crypto-Algorithm Implementation (암호 알고리즘 구현 적합성 평가 시스템 설계)

  • Conventional researches of standard tool validating cryptographic algorithm have been studied for the internet environment, for the mobile internet. It is important to develop the validation tool for establishment of interoperability and convenience of users in the information systems. Therefore, this paper presents the validation tool of Elliptic Curve Cryptography algorithm that can test if following X9.62 technology standard specification. The validation tool can be applied all information securities using DES, SEED, AES, SHA-1/256/384/512, RSA-OAEP V2.0, V2.1, ECDSA, ECKCDSA, ECDH, etc. Moreover, we can enhance the precision of validation through several experiments and perform the validation tool in the online environment.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 기존 CT 검사 도구를 확인하여 한계를 파악하고, CT 기반 역량의 의미를 밝히고 이를 통해 올바른 CT 검사도구 개발의 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 그래서 이 연구로 CT 기반 스킬을 통해 CT 역량을 검사할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 이 연구의 결론으로 CT 역량을 검사하는 것은 CT 기반 역량을 검사하는 것으로 CT 기반 하드스킬을 밝혀내어 이를 평가 요소로 적용한다면, 기존 검사도구의 한계를 극복하는 묘책이 될 것으로 판단되었다. 이 연구의 후속으로 CT 기반의 하드 스킬을 찾아 CT 기반 역량을 명확히 규명하고, 이를 바탕으로 검사도구를 개발하여 검증하고자 한다.

Current Status and Actual Conditions of the Use of Occupational Therapy Evaluation Tools in Relation to the Type of Therapy Institution (국내 아동작업치료 기관별 평가도구 사용 현황 및 실태에 관한 연구)

  • Objective : This study aimed to investigate the current status and actual use of assessment tools by institutions in the field of occupational therapy with children in Korea. Methods : The study was conducted with 67 occupational therapists working with children in Korea. To investigate the use of evaluation tools by area, knowledge of the evaluation tools, and desire to participate in further education, the questionnaires used in studies by Lee, Hong, and Park (2018) and Kim (2015) were modified and supplemented according to the child evaluation tools currently in usein institutions in Korea. For data collection, we distributed Google questionnaires to child occupational therapists for 3 weeks using convenience sampling. Excel was used to analyze the use of the evaluation tools according to institution. Technical statistics and frequency analyses were used to verify the general characteristics, evaluation-related information, status of evaluation tool use, knowledge levels relating to evaluation tools, and desire to participate in education. A t-test was used for the evaluation tool status. Results : Welfare centers used the most evaluation tools, with an average of 11.1, followed by university hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, clinics, and daycare centers. There were differences in the choice of tools used, hospital with the Jebsen-Taylor hand function test and the Wee-FIM (Functional Independence Measure) being the most frequently applied. Centers, daycare centers, and welfare center the Sensory Profile test and clinical observation were also used often. Regarding the level of knowledge of evaluation tools and the desire to participate further in education, 30 (44.8%) of the respondents had not completed their education, and 42 (62.7%) rated their knowledge level as generally low. When asked about the importance of using a manual to guide them in their use of evaluation tools, 66 (98.6%) answered positively, and 66 (98.6%) answered that they needed specialized training in the use of evaluation tools. Conclusion : This study makes it possible to understand the use and status of evaluation tools as used by different institutions in Korea in the field of child occupational therapy It is anticipated that it will provide the basis for introducing existing evaluation tools and preparing new evaluation tools to be used in this field in Korea.

  • Due to increase of interest in web accessibility and recognition of its necessity, a variety of accessibility indicators and automatic assessment tools have been developed, but previous literature indicated various problems about these indicators and tools. Thus, this research proposes and verifies the assessment model for accessibility of a frame content by considering web standards which develop the same web page for every client environment.

  • While both functional verification and performance evaluation of a system are necessary for the development of effective and reliable communication systems, they have been usually performed individually through functional modeling with formal language tools and performance modeling with professional network performance evaluation tools, respectively. However, separate and duplicated modeling of a system may cause increase of the cost and inconsistency between the models. In order to overcome this problem, this paper proposes an integrated design technique that estimates the performance of a communication protocol designed in SDL with SDL-OPNET co-simulation. The proposed technique presents how to design a co-simulation system with the environment functions of Tau and the external system module of OPNET. InRes protocol was used as an example to show the applicability and usefulness of the proposed technique.

Development of an Instrument to Measure Scientific Problem-Finding Ability for Scientifically-Gifted Student (과학 영재 학생들의 과학적 문제발견 능력을 측정하기 위한 도구 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable instrument for measuring scientific problem-finding ability for the scientifically-gifted student. On the basis of an operational definition of scientific problem-finding ability, this instrument consists of five sections(appropriateness, flexibility, originality, elaboration, and valuation) which are designed for measuring the ability of the scientifically-gifted. This instrument was checked the validity of content and evaluation criteria by the five experienced specialists in science education, and then was administered to 38 students of science high school. Because the validity of content and evaluation criteria, construct validity, inter-rater reliability, item difficulty, and item discrimination are suitable for the criteria of good test, this developed instrument in this study is considered valid and reliable.

A Study on the Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of COVID-19 Stress Scale for Nursing Students (간호대학생을 위한 COVID-19 스트레스 측정도구의 신뢰도 및 타당도 검증 연구)

  • This study was conducted to verify the reliability and validity of the tool after translating the COVID-19 related healthcare student stress scale (CHSSS) developed by Baghcheghi et al. into Korean. A survey was conducted on 211 nursing college students enrolled in two universities located in Gyeongsang Province, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs. As a result of factor analysis, three factors and 21 questions were derived, and the explanatory power of the tool was 67.4% and the reliability was .93. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the model was found to be acceptable, and the Korean version of CHSSS was verified as an available tool. It is expected that it can be used as basic data for evaluating COVID-19 stress of nursing students using the Korean version of CHSSS and developing programs for stress management.

Advanced development of the core competency diagnosis tool for college students for future-oriented competency education: Focusing on the case of Y University (미래지향적 역량교육을 위한 전문대학생 핵심역량 진단 도구 고도화 개발: Y대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to advanced and develop a core competency diagnosis tool that junior college students must have in order to implement competency-oriented education to nurture talents required by the future society, and to verify its validity and reliability. To this end, the existing diagnostic tools were analyzed and preliminary questions were derived through analysis of prior research, collecting opinions of members, FGI, and expert advice. A total of 46 items were derived, which were verified as content validity. Afterwards, a preliminary survey was conducted targeting 380 applicants among current students. To verify the validity of the construct, an exploratory factor analysis was performed using AMOS 18.0. As a result, 30 final questions composed of 6 core competencies were derived. The core competency diagnosis tool is expected to be actively used as a future-oriented competency education execution, evaluation, and quality management tool by diagnosing the competencies of current students.
