Behavior of arch slab in the shallow tunnel constructed perpendicular to slope by semi-cut-and-cover method (편경사지에 굴착한 반개착식 천층터널에서 아치슬래브의 거동)

  • Recently, the number of shallow tunnel construction increases to improve the structural safety and environment-friendliness. In semi-cut-and-cover Method, ground is excavated to the crown arch level and arch slab is set to backfill before the excavation of lower face. In this study, laboratory model tests was performed to clarify the behavior of the arch slab constructed perpendicular to the slope. Results show that Arch slab is affected by perpendicular to the slope and bedrocks. Negative moment at the upper part of the arch slab at hillside and positive moment at the upper part at the other side are generated as perpendicular to the slope increases. Reaction load at the hillside support was larger than that at the other side.

  • NATM 터널에 작용하는 토압(이완하중)의 크기는 지형조건, 지질조건등에 따라 다르므로 정량적으로 산정하기에는 다소 어려움이 있으며, 실무적으로 Terzaghi(1946)가 제안한 암반의 이완하중을 적용하고 있다. Terzaghi 암반이완하중은 지형상 저토피, 편경사등을 고려하기에는 다소 무리가 있고 특히, 설계시 시공중 공용후 터널에 편토압이 작용한다고 예측하는 것은 더욱 어렵다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 저토피 편경사지형에서 터널의 문제점 보강대책방안에 대하여 종합 검토하였으며, 실제 지형상 저토피, 편경사를 이루나 암질이 양호하다고 판단되어 아칭 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것으로 예상되는 터널이 굴착과정중 설계시 추정된 지반조건과 상이하여 터널지보재(숏크리트)의 균열 및 이상 변위가 발생된 터널에서 보강대책방안으로 인버트폐합을 실시하여 안정된 터널굴착을 할 수 있었던 사례를 소개하고 저토피 편경사 지형에서 NATM 터널의 설계 시공시 유의사항에 대하여 검토하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a new method using the GPS-INS integrated system which measures the superelevation of a curved yoad rapidly and safely Also, using the CPS-INS integrated system. this Paper is to analyze the expected accuracy of the superelevation on the roads which are already opened for traffic. The superelevation of the roads which are already opened for traffic often changes by roads rehabilitation work such as resurfacing of Pavement and rutting However, it is difficult to measure 1,he changes of road geometry because or the high cost and the safety problem. If the measurement of superelevation using GPS-INS integrated system is used instead of existing conventional surveying method, the superelevation of road is expected to be measured accurately(under 0.4% RMSE) just by driving without interfering the traffic Therefore, the application of the GPS-INS integrated system is expected to be useful tool for measuring the superelevation of the roads.

  • 자연하천의 만곡부에서는 원심력에 의하여 수위상승 이나 침식 등으로 제방이 파괴되고 월류되어 홍수피해가 빈번하게 발생된다. 그러므로 자연하천의 만곡부는 하천정비 및 안정하도의 유지관리를 위해 매우 중요한 하도구간중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 하도 만곡부의 흐름특성 연구를 위하여 만곡 유입부 형상에 따라 $90^{\circ}$만곡부의 실험수로에 대한 유속, 편수위 및 편경사의 변화특성을 검토하였다. 분석결과 먼저, 만곡정도에 관계없이 유량이 증가할수록 만곡부의 최대 최소 유속차 또한 증가하는 것으로 검토되었다. 다음으로 유입부 형상이 $90^{\circ}$인 지점에서 최대 횡방향 수면경사가 발생하였으며 직선하도에 비하여 최대 8% 정도 기울어진 것으로 검토되었다. 본 연구의 결과에서 검토된 만곡 하천의 수리특성과 편경사의 경향 등을 하천정비 또는 실시계획수립에 반영한다면 치수적으로 안전하고 보다 친환경적인 하천계획이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Analysis on the Driving Safety and Investment Effect using Severity Model of Fatal Traffic Accidents (대형교통사고 심각도 모형에 의한 주행안전성 및 투자효과 분석)

  • In this study, we discuss a fatal accident severity model obtained from the analysis of 112 crash sites collected since 2000, and the resulting relationship between fatal accidents and roadway geometry design. From the 720 times computer simulations for improving driving safety, we then reached the following conclusions:. First, the result of cross and frequency-analyses on the car accident sites showed that 43.7% of the accidents occurred on the curved roads, 60.7% on the vertical curve section, 57.2% on the roadways with radius of curvature of 0 to 24m, 83.9% on the roads with superelevation of 0.1 to 2.0% and 49.1% on the one-way 2-lane roads; vehicle types involved are passenger vehicles (33.0%), trucks (20.5%) and buses (14.3%) in order of frequency. The results also show that the superelevation is the most influencing factor for the fatal accidents. Second, employing the Ordered Probit Model (OPM), we developed a severity model for fatal accidents being a function of on various road conditions so as to the damages can be predicted. The proposed model possibly assists the practitioners to predict dangerous roadway segments, and to take appropriate measures in advance. Third, computer simulation runs show that providing adequate superelevation on the segment where a fatal accident occurred could reduce similar fatal accidents by at least 85%. This result indicates that the regulations specified in the Rule for Road Structure and Facility Standard (description and guidelines) should be enhanced to include more specific requirement for providing the superelevation.

  • Road infrastructure has increased explosively due to economic development after industrialization and at present road infrastructure is being changed and increased by construction of new roads and maintenance and expansion of existing roads. Such road infrastructure should support safe driving. Road management plays an important role in safe driving. The purpose of this dissertation is to verify predictability of dangerous sections by analyzing road geometrical structure such as surface irregularity and superelevation for some sections in Central Inland Expressway by MMS and present ways of managing roads using MMS. Having analyzed surface irregularity of roads by using MMS, it was found that over 50 percent of all eight sections, targets of this study need betterments and for superelevation, over 50 percent of two sections goes against superelevation standard. Targets of this study are sections that accidents occurred frequently based on history of past accidents and predictability of dangerous sections can be verified through analysis of road geometrical structure using MMS. Using MMS data created by construction of high definition maps which are being undergone for all roads and methods proposed by this study will help investigate dangerous sections efficiently according to road environment. A result of MMS can be used for maintenance of road furniture.

A Study for Measuring of Cross Slope Using Instrument Vehicle with Multiple Sensors (센서를 장착한 차량을 이용한 도로 횡단경사 측정에 관한 연구)

  • This research introduces the method to measure cross-slope using Road Safety Survey and Analysis Vehicle(RoSSAV) with multiple sensors. Cross-slope is an important element like horizontal alignment and vertical alignment in evaluating safety of the roads. In many cases, cross-slope is different from drawings due to frequent overlays. It is extremely difficult to measure cross slope at the roads which has huge traffic volume. Therefore, the algorithm, which can be used when driving the RoSSAV with CPS/INS and Laser Scanner sensors was developed for measuring the cross-slop. Also, in order to examine the algorithm, the superelevation was measured by Laser Scanner and GPS/INS system during travelling and the result was verified by statistical verification.

  • A two-lane highway has a high rate of head-on collisions, sideswipe collisions, crashes with an fixed object. This study was to analyze the weakness of a cross section and a horizontal curve in a two-lane highway and find countermeasures to improve the traffic operations and safety. This study evaluated the effectiveness of widening, curve flattening and superelevation, verified it with a case study and assessed the economical efficiency. This study selected the difference between tangent section operating speeds and curve section operating speeds as an evaluation index of horizontal curve section in a two-lane highway. The results indicated that curve flattening is the best way to improve the traffic safety in a two-lane highway. This study has implication that it provides the quantitative effects of curve flattening. Also directions for future study were discussed.
