Development of Axial Flow Pump Design with Double-Circular-Arc Blade Profile (이중원호익형을 이용한 축류펌프의 설계)

  • 본 연구에서는 상용코드 FLUENT를 통한 수치모사 결과를 바탕으로 개발한 이중 원호익형의 성능상관식을 축류펌프의 설계에 적용하여 보았다. 일반적으로 익형의 설계는 크게 두 단계를 거치게 된다. 먼저 반경방향의 평형과 설계조건을 만족하는 임펠러와 디퓨저의 입구와 출구의 속도 삼각형을 얻고, 다음으로 적당한 익형을 선택하여 기하학적 형상을 결정하는 과정으로 이루어져 있다.

Axial Thrust Measurement of Fuel Pump for 75-ton Class Rocket Engine (75톤급 로켓엔진용 연료펌프의 축추력 측정)

  • An effective control of the axial thrust of a turbopump is one of the critical issues for obtaining its operational stability. Axial thrusts of the fuel pump for the 75-ton class rocket engine under development were measured with water as a test propellant at a room temperature. According to the test results, the axial thrust of the fuel pump seemed to satisfy the axial force condition of its bearing. Also, the thrust was increased as a whole when the flowrate of the pump was decreased. Furthermore it was found that the thrust and the leakage flowate were modified when the gaps between the floating ring seals and the impeller were changed.

  • 마모씨일과 발란스디스크에서의 로마킨효과가 3600rpm에서 운전되는 14단 터빈펌프의 동특성에 미치는 영향을 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 14단 터빈펌프 시제품 해석을 위한 유한요소 모델링 및 해석결과는 실험적 모드해석을 통하여 5% 이내의 오차로 검증되었다. 2. 마모링 및 밸런스 디스크의 로마킨효과를 고려하였을 때 시제품 펌프의 위험속도는 그렇지 않았을 때에 비하여 1차의 경우 약 50% 상승하나 고차의 경우는 그 영향이 미미하였다. 그런데 1차 위험속도가 운전속도와 밀접한 관련이 있으므로 설계시 로마킨효과는 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 3. 마모링 및 밸런스디스크의 설계변경에 의하여 시제품 펌프의 강성을 변화시킬 경우 위험속도가 크게 변화하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 이용하면 펌프의 심각한 구조변경 없이도 씨일의 적절한 설계에 의하여 임펠러 깃등의 고조화성분을 포함한 유해한 진동을 회피하는 동특성 설계가 가능하다. 향후 계속 연구사업으로서 씨일의 동특성 해석코드 개발 및 Wet Test를 통하여 본 연구결과를 검증하고 그 결과를 다단 터빈 펌프의 동특성 설게에 적용하여 고압 다단 터빈 펌프의 독자적 개발에 활용코자 한다.

  • A fuel pump for a turbopump system has been designed under an international co-work program. The liquid methane fuel pump has an inducer, in front of centrifugal impeller blades, to improve cavitation performance. The three dimensional viscous flow in the fuel pump was investigated through numerical computation. An arrangement of the inducer and impeller has yielded a strong interaction between inducer and impeller blades. The performance of the pump was evaluated from the calculated results. A parametric study was performed for various design variables, and it could oner a database for design parameters to design a fuel pump. A modified design of a fuel pump was proposed by KIMM to improve pump performance.

The effect of subzero treatment and gas nitration on SKD11 (SKD11합금의 심냉처리와 질화처리에 대한 영향)

  • SKD11은 자이로 펌프의 로타와 붓싱 재질로 사용되는데, 자이로펌프는 임펠러의 회전이 없고 원판의 기울기 운동으로 흡입과 토출을 반복하는 고압용적식 펌프이다. 이 펌프의 내구성을 향상시키기 위하여 우수한 내압성과 내마모성을 갖는 재질선정이 요구한다. 따라서 현재 가장 널리 사용되고있는 SKD11에 심냉처리를 통하여 미세조직의 개선을 수행하였고, 가스질화처리에 의한 표면경화로 내압성과 내마모성을 증가시키고자 하였다. SKD11의 미세조직 변화를 조사하기 위하여 광학현미경과 X-선 회절기를 사용하여 미세조직 관찰과 상변화를 조사하였으며, Rockwell 경도기틀 사용하여 각 변수에 따른 경도변화를 조사하였다. 연구 결과 기지조직은 모두 마르텐사이트로 나타났으며, 이 이외에 각각의 조건에 따라 크롬탄화물, PFZ, 잔류오스테나이트가 확인되었다. SKD11을 액화질소로 냉각한 후 500℃에서의 템퍼링으로 가장 큰 경도값을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 가스질화처리에 의하여 표면경도를 크게 증가시킬 수 있었다.

  • The hydraulic performance analysis of a pump system composed of an inducer and impeller for the application on turbopumps has been performed using three-dimensional Wavier-Stokes equations. A simple mixing-plane method and a full interaction method are used to simulate inducer/impeller interactions. The computations adopting two methods show almost similar results due to the weak interaction between the inducer and impeller since the inducer outlet blade angle is rather small. But, because the inducer and the impeller are closely spaced near the shroud region at the interface, flow angles at the impeller inlet show different results between two methods. Thus, the full interaction method predicted about $2\%$ higher pump performance than the mixing-plane method. And the effects of prewhirl at the impeller inlet are also investigated. As the inlet flow angle is increased, the head rise and the efficiency are decreased. The computational results are compared with experimental ones. The computational results at the design point show good agreements with experimental data. But the computation was found to under-predict the head rise at high mass flow rates compared to the experiment, further study must be followed in terms of the computation and experiment.

  • Propellent should be pressurized inside the turbopump to gain high thrust in a projectile. Turbopump is composed of an inducer, which prevents impeller performance deterioration, and an impeller. Several types of cavitation occur inside the inducer, numerous experiments and CFD simulations are conducted. Though, an inducer takes only small portion of total head of the pump and the following impeller determines whole turbopump performance. In addition, low inlet pressure makes the flow to be cavitated not only at the inducer, but also at the impeller in real cases. Therefore, flow through an inducer and an impeller should considered simultaneously. In this study, LOX pump composed of an inducer and an impeller is analyzed by using commercial CFD code ANSYS CFX 13.0. Non-cavitating flow with high inlet pressure and cavitating flow with low inlet pressure are both simulated and head, suction performances are shown. Evolution of the flow and the cavitation by reducing cavitation number and effect of cavitation on pump performance are studied.

Numerical Study on the Erosion Tendency of Centrifugal Slurry Pump Impeller for Thermal Power Plants (화력발전소용 원심 슬러리 펌프 임펠러의 침식경향 해석적 연구)

  • Centrifugal pumps are typically used in many slurry industries to transport solid materials. Solid particles in the slurry frequently shock the walls inside the pump, significantly abrading the flow path. Wear damage causes replacement of the pump components, which wastes manpower and time. Therefore, previous studies have been conducted on factors to improve efficiency and life time. This study identifies trends in pumps supplying lime to desulfurized devices from thermal power plants. The shear stress transport(SST) model is used to determine the erosion trend of the centrifugal pump that transfers lime slurry. The purpose of this study is to identify efficiency and erosion trends by selecting three of the various impeller design elements. The three impeller blade design variables mentioned above represent the inlet draft angle and blade angle of leading edge(L.E) and trailing edge(T.E). The maximum value of the erosion density rate tends to be similar to the Input power.
