Behavior of Punch Deformation in Precision Shearing Process Using Press Die (금형을 이용한 정밀전단가공에서 펀치의 변형거동)

  • Uneven clearances in the left and right sides of a press die cause deformation of the punch in precision shearing process. This deformation results from the compression stress and bending moment from shearing force in vertical direction and from the side force in horizontal direction acting to the punch, In this study the behavior of punch deformation is investigated in order to clarify the deformation state of the punch by using strain gauge deformation to shearing force side force bending moment radius of curvature and shear plane of the punch. Also we presented the calculation method of deformation size for the punch.

  • An inverse method is presented to obtain material's flow properties by using small punch test. This procedure employs, as the objective function of inverse analysis, the balance of measured load-di splacement response and calculated one during deformation. In order to guarantee convergence to global minimum, simulated annealing method was adopted to optimize the current objective function. In addition, artificial neural network was used to predict the load-displacement response under given material parameters which is the most time consuming and limits applications of global optimization methods to these kinds of problems. By implementing the simulated annealing for optimization along with calculating load-displacement curve by neural network, material parameters were identified irrespective of initial values within very short time for simulated test data. We also tested the present method for error-containing experimental data and showed that the flow properties of material were well predicted.

  • The small punch test have been developed to evaluate the material strength of the power plant components. This small punch test specimen is very small than the conventional strength test specimens. Korea Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI) have been applying this test to assess accurately the life of thermal power plant and enhancing the reliability. The small punch test for gas turbine blades is under development. It's possible to compare the relative strength among the same materials having different operation histories. In this paper, the strength reductions of gas turbine materials are investigated by the small punch tests. All materials shows the almost same strength and deformation with the allowable deviation. At the same test temperature, the damaged material has the maximum load value. The strength reduction is not shown in this small punch test results.

  • Restriking is a shaping method added to the processed products to get higher precision and accuracy in the press die process. This method is frequently used in bending works and drawing works. The purpose of this research is to develop a design for rectangular drawing die punch and die block form which enables drawing formation and restriking in one set.

  • The effect of the numbers of processing on the punch and surface roughness of die block in the W-EDM, which is frequently used to manufacture parts of press die is studied. W-EDM equipment (Sodic A500H), the application of which has increased for its precision, is used in the process three times. To inspect the roughness of the three-time-processed dimension of the punch and the die, the surface roughness measuring instrument (System 5000 of Federal) is used.

  • 대망의 밀레니엄 시대를 맞아 희망과 약동이 가득 차야 할 산업계 분위기가 최근 말이 아니다. 올해 들어 지난 2년여 동안의 시장부진을 탈피하고 새로운 시장활성화의 전기가 마련되리라 기대가 되었으나 상반기를 마감한 시점에 있어 결과는 참혹하다할 정도로 부진한 시장 양상을 면치 못하고 있다. 상반기만을 놓고 볼때 올해의 시장상황은 근 $7{\~}8$년 사이에 있어 최악이다. 당초 전년대비 $10{\%}$이상의 성장을 낙관했던 산업계는 의외의 카운터 펀치를 맞고 펀치 드링크 상태에서 헤어나지 못하고 있다. 어떻게 보면 믿기 힘든 충격적인 상황. 시장이 왜 이 지경에 이르렀는지 산업계는 그 원인을 심층분석하고 하루빨리 시장돌파구를 마련해야 할 중요한 시점에 서 있다. 금호에서는 현재의 부진한 시장양상을 극복하고 새로운 시장활성화의 계기를 마련할 수 방안을 집중 모색해 보는 시간을 마련했다.

  • This paper proposes a vision-based inspection algorithm for a punch which is used when forming the head of the small screws. To maintain good quality of punch, the precise inspection of its dimension and the depth of the punch head is important. A CCD camera and an illumination dome light are used to measure its dimensions. And a structured line laser is also used to measure the depth of the punch head. Resolution and visible area depend on setup between laser and camera which is determined using CAD-based simulation. The proposed method is successfully evaluated using experiment on #2 punch.

  • 음극전기분해법을 이용하여 고강도 DP강과 TRIP강에 수소를 강제 주입시켜, 시험편 내 수소량을 정량적으로 분석하였고, 표면하 미소경도분포 측정과 소형펀치시험 및 파단면 관찰을 통하여 수소주입량에 따른 고강도 박강판재의 수소침투 및 수소취화거동을 평가하고자 하였다. DP강은 강도가 클수록 높은 수소량으로 조사되었고, TRIP강은 DP강에 비해 주입된 수소량이 적은 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 미소경도분포 및 소형펀치시험에서도 DP강은 TRIP강에 비해 수소취성에 민감성이 높은 것으로 평가되었다.

  • Hydrogen embrittlement of a pipe is an important factor in hydrogen transport. To characterize hydrogen embrittlement, tensile and fracture toughness tests should be conducted. However, in the case of hydrogen-embrittled materials, it is difficult to perform tests in hydrogen environment, particularly at low temperatures. It would be useful to develop a methodology to predict the fracture toughness of hydrogen-embrittled materials at low temperatures using more efficient tests. In this study, the fracture toughness of API X52 steels in hydrogen at low temperatures is predicted from numerical simulation using coupled finite element (FE) damage analyses with FE diffusion analysis, calibrated by analyzing small punch test data.
