A Study on the Chinese Semiconductor Industry (중국의 반도체 산업)

  • 반도체는 전자시스템의 제어 운용, 정보저장의 기능을 수행하는 핵심부품으로서 휴대폰, 자동차 등 주력산업의 경쟁력을 좌우할 정도로 파급효과가 크다. 중국은 전세계 전자장비 생산이 중국으로 이전되고 있고 중국 내수시장의 급속한 성장에 따라 반도체 산업이 고도성장을 기록하고 있다. 이미 세계 반도체 시장에서 최대의 소비국으로 자리잡고 있고, 파운드리 분야와 팹리스 분야에서 강점을 보이고 있다. 본 고에서는 중국의 반도체 산업을 중국 정부의 반도체 정책, 산업동향 및 특성, 반도체기업 현황을 중심으로 분석하고 우리에게 주는 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

  • This paper is analyzing the SoC policy of major nations as the U.S, Japan, Europe, Taiwan, China and draw the suggestions for the development of semiconductor industry in Korea. SoC is the non-memory semiconductor to support and put into action the function of system. SoC is big market over the 200billion dollars and have a huge potential for new IT convergence market. Developed countries as the US, Japan, and Europe have enforced the industrial competitiveness by company investment and Taiwan supported the SoC Industry by government fund. Korea is No.1 superpower in DRAM semiconductor, but very weak in SoC Industry. We should secure the competitiveness of SoC Industry by the development of core technology, planning the growth policy, and building the cooperative model to leap the SoC power nation.

  • The Next-generation IT technology has been evolving from single technique to another which has merged, converging characteristics. The government categorized the 5 essential technologies to secure competitiveness in designing system semiconductors as smart motor vehicle info-tainment platform, smart TV multimedia system, smart phone analog interface technique, smart convergence digital communication and RF techniques, and advanced power management for smart devices. Also, it designated smart phone, smart TV, smart motor vehicle, and smart pad as the key industries. Such core techniques will become the key technologies of semiconductor design to secure the competitiveness of the next generation smart devices and the techniques can be transferred to fab-less design companies. In this contribution, we analyze the issues and the problems of the SoC design trends for smart motor vehicle info-tainment platforms.

  • 본 연구는 IT SoC 산업기반조성사업의 경제적 성과를 분석했다. 1단계로 창업보육기업 CEO와의 전수 인터뷰를 포함한 기업 서베이를 통하여 팹리스 중소 벤처기업의 매출액 기여효과를 추정했고, 2단계로 산업연관분석을 적용하여 생산유발효과를 추정했다. 3단계로 추정 결과를 비용과 비교한 결과, 동 사업은 예산 대비 6.3배의 경제적 성과를 거둔 것으로 나타났다. 동 사업의 경제적 성과가 높게 나온 것은 기술수준과 자금력이 취약한 중소 벤처기업들에게 각종 인프라를 조성해 주었기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

A Feasibility Study on the Research Infrastructure Project of System Semi-Conductor Industry (시스템 반도체산업 기반조성사업의 타당성 분석 연구)

  • The High-price development & testing tools and IP infratstructures are required for the development of system semi-conductors, but SMEs have not ability to prepare for them. Recently in terms of the miniaturization and the advancement of semiconductor process, the cost of the semi-conductor development have shown the rising tendency and the market-based design tools used are requied to be upgraded due to the advancement in the environment and technology. On the contray, many other contries such as Taiwan, Japan, China, and User are supporting this system semi-conductor industry. Korean government is trying to build the research infrastructure for system semi-conductor industry that aims to reduce the costs of the design infrastructure investment, to support the companies of system semi-conductor development and to incubate the fab-less start-ups. This study analyzes the feasibility of the project, by using the AHP analysis and the results shows that this project is considered feasible because the AHP overall score is evaluated as 0.840, the overall score is greater than or equal to 0.55.

A Study on the Core Competency of Specialized Company for Semiconductor Design of Korea (한국반도체 설계전문기업의 핵심경쟁력 역량에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of competitiveness of semiconductor design firms of Korea. The categories of competitiveness are divided into product development, accumulated technology, market-related competencies, human resources, and management system. The sample of 73 semiconductor design companies were used, and the analysis data were gathered by parallel with the questionnaire and the surveyor visited. For respondents, importance of competitiveness factor was prioritized using nominal scale and the competitiveness of each item is expressed based on 100 points. It was confirmed that there was a difference between the order of importance and the actual level of core competence. The ranking of the importance of core competencies is in the order of product development, technical capability, market-related competencies, human resources, and management system. However, in terms of actual competitiveness in each category, human resources were the best, followed by the management level. The product development and technology competencies were in order. The market-related competitiveness was found to be the most urgently raised. In order to increase the market related competitiveness, a new customer base must be developed and the information acquisition capability of the customer, and the ability to analyze their data needs to be improved.
