Video Segmentation Using Audio and Image Information (오디오와 영상 정보를 이용한 비디오 세그먼테이션)

  • 본 논문에서는 영상 정보뿐만 아니라 오디오 정보를 함께 사용한 비디오 세그멘테이션에 대해 연구하였다. 대용량의 정보를 가지고 있는 비디오에 대하여 장면 경계 검출(Scene Break Detection)을 할 경우, 카메라 팬이나 장면 내에 여려 가지 다른 샷(Shot)으로 인하여 영상 정보만으로는 효과적인 검출이 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 비디오 내의 오디오 정보도 함께 사용함으로써 문제를 개선했다. 뉴스, 광고, 스포츠 등 다양한 3개 분야의 TV 프로그램으로 구성된 약 4,000개 영상 프레임과 약 30,000개의 오디오 프레임으로 구성된 비디오 데이터베이스에 대하여 실험한 결과, 영상 정보만 사용한 경우보다 우수한 성능을 확인하였다. 영상 정보 특징값으로는 칼라 히스토그램과 DC계수를 사용했고, 오디오 특징값으로는 SR(Silence ratio), VSTD(Volume standard deviation), NPR(Non pitch ratio)을 사용했다.

  • 범위 상위-k 질의는 질의 범위 내의 다차원 데이타 중 값 애트리뷰트를 기준으로 상위 k개의 레코드를 반환하는 질의로 공간 데이타베이스와 데이타 웨어하우스에서 분석을 위해 많이 사용되는 유용한 질의 형태이다. 이 논문에서는 계층 최대 R-트리의 선택적인 탐색을 통해 범위 상위-k 질의를 효과적으로 수행하는 기법을 제시한다. 질의 결과를 포함하지 않는 단말 노드를 접근하지 않고 질의를 수행할 수 있기 때문에 적은 노드 접근으로도 질의 수행이 가능하며, 질의 범위의 크기에 관계없이 거의 일정한 성능을 보인다. 두 개의 우선순위 큐를 사용하며 질의 수행 공간을 최소화 하며, In Sorted Node 기법을 통해 기존 R-트리와 같은 팬아웃을 보장할 수 있다.

  • It is widely recognized that exhaust emissions, fuel economy and engine torque are affected by engine temperature, and logic would suggest that a cooling system offering a better compromise of engine temperature would improve both overall engine performance and economy. Author measured coolant temperature of some parts and flow rate which are necessary to heat transfer in a engine. And Author determined parameters necessary for the optimum design of a thermostat to keep the best engine performance ; determined the optimum operating temperature of electric cooling fan. A summary of this study is followed. 1. Study of the effects of cooling condition to combustion character in a engine. 2. Analyze of heat transfer surrounding engine cylinders. 3. Study of the effects of cooling character to engine heat rejection, determination of the optimum collant temperature for keeping the optimum engine performance and determination of the optimum design of a thermostat for keeping that temperature.

  • 팬(fan), 펌프(pump), 블로어(blower), 전기 자동차(electric/hybrid vehicle), 전동차와 같은 다양한 분야에서 3상 전동기의 고속 운전에 대한 요구가 증대되고 있다. 일반적으로 3상 전동기가 정격 속도 이상의 고속에서 운전하기 위해서는 회전자 자속(rotor flux)의 크기를 운전 상황에 따라 감소시키는 약자속(flux weakening) 제어가 필수적이다. 유도 전동기의 회전자 자속 기준 벡터 제어 시의 약자속 운전은 자속 성분 전류의 크기를 제어하여 유도 전동기의 고속 운전을 가능하게 하는데, 이러한 전류 제어 기반의 약자속 제어는 그 구조가 복잡하고, 제어기 이득 선정에 따른 동특성(dynamic)이 영향울 받는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 개선하기 위한 순시적 약자속 제어 방법을 제안하고 3.7kW 유도 전동기를 이용한 실험을 통하여 제안된 방식의 성능을 검증한다.

  • Heat recovery ventilator(HRV) is recommended to improve indoor air quarlity (IAQ) and energy conservation in apartment houses. Recently, in Korea, HRV is produced from many manufacturers. However, there have been not so many experiences to apply HRV in apartment houses and verification on the performance such as heat exchange efficiency, carry-over rate, internal leakage, etc. have not been carried out sufficiently. So in this study, fan performance, heat exchange efficiency, air leakage, internal exhaust leakage, external leakage and sound level of HRV were examined for selected HRV models under domestic and international standard. Results of performance test, there were need to improve latent heat exchange efficiency and sound level of HRV.

  • ITB(Interstage Turbine Burner) is a kind of afterburner locating between HPT(High Pressure Turbine) and LPT(Low Pressure Turbine). The objective of this study is to use the engine's design parameters as input parameters to obtain engine's performance parameters, such as specific thrust and its thrust specific fuel consumption. This study analyzes the performance of Turbofan engines with ITB and compares the performance between Turbofan engines with ITB and Turbofan engines without ITB. Results of this study can verify the advantages of Turbofan engine with ITB in term of thrust, efficiency.

Cold Test and Internal Flow Analysis of Semi-Freejet Type High Altitude Environment Simulation Test Facility for the High-Speed Vehicle (초고속 비행체를 위한 준 자유흐름식 고공환경 모사시험설비의 상온시험 및 내부유동 해석)

  • In this study, the cold test and the numerical analysis were carried out according to the shape parameters of the test model in order to confirm the operation range of high altitude environment simulation test facility for the supersonic vehicle. The blockage ratio, angle and length ratio were considered as the design parameters. The blockage rate is expected to be limited in the region of more than 40% due to the normal shock and expansion fan. It was confirmed that the angle of model should be selected at the size of 45 degrees or less due to the influence of the strong shock wave. There was no difference in performance between the lengths of 8 times the model diameter. Finally, we obtained the performance database according to the shape parameters of the conical test model and confirmed the operable range of the semi-freejet type high altitude environment simulation test facility.

  • This paper describes the localization development of an axial fan for KM-SAM multi-function radar. The multi-function radar, which is constantly affected by the external environment, is a key instrument for detecting and tracking low and medium altitude threat targets. Operating this equipment smoothly requires a fan for controlling the internal temperature and humidity. Presently, all such fans are imported. To solve these problems, localization development research was proposed. The development of localization includes analysis of requirements through review of related technical reports such as original equipment and system equipment specification, prototype design, and verification of design requirement through performance test and environmental test. The study results are described. The blower consisted of an axial fan with guide vanes and the motor was designed to generate a maximum airflow of 970 CFM and a wind pressure of 4.8 IWG. Six prototypes were manufactured for performance evaluation. In addition, for reliable data acquisition, AC power supply, fan performance tester and data acquisition equipment were designed and tested. All prototypes were verified as having design requirements equal to or better than those of imports.

The study on performance evaluation of heat resistance and smoke control system using air-curtain system in tunnel (터널용 에어커튼 시스템의 내열 및 제연 성능 평가 연구)

  • Tunnel is a semi-closed structure similar to underground space where the smoke generated from fire fills the space fast while escaping from the space slow. Because of such characteristics, when the fire breaks out by traffic accident, the vehicles are jammed making it difficult for the people to evacuate from the scene as well as for the fire engine to gain access to the scene. For such reasons, tunnels are globally categorized into some disaster classes for differentiated facilities and operation approaches. In Korea, less than a 1 km-long tunnel accounts for 80.0% and such a short tunnel which is categorized into Class III is not required to have smoke control system. In this study, a full-scale fire test was conducted in a bid to apply air curtain system using heat-resistant sirocco fan to a less than 1 km-long tunnel. To that end, heat resistance test to verify the normal operation at $250^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes was conducted. Consequently, despite of rapid rising-temperature and increasing-carbon dioxide inside the air curtain (direction of fire in tunnel), initial condition was found to have been sustained outside the air curtain (opposite direction of fire in tunnel).

A Proposal of Remaining Useful Life Prediction Model for Turbofan Engine based on k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN을 활용한 터보팬 엔진의 잔여 유효 수명 예측 모델 제안)

  • The maintenance industry is mainly progressing based on condition-based maintenance after corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance. In condition-based maintenance, maintenance is performed at the optimum time based on the condition of equipment. In order to find the optimal maintenance point, it is important to accurately understand the condition of the equipment, especially the remaining useful life. Thus, using simulation data (C-MAPSS), a prediction model is proposed to predict the remaining useful life of a turbofan engine. For the modeling process, a C-MAPSS dataset was preprocessed, transformed, and predicted. Data pre-processing was performed through piecewise RUL, moving average filters, and standardization. The remaining useful life was predicted using principal component analysis and the k-NN method. In order to derive the optimal performance, the number of principal components and the number of neighbor data for the k-NN method were determined through 5-fold cross validation. The validity of the prediction results was analyzed through a scoring function while considering the usefulness of prior prediction and the incompatibility of post prediction. In addition, the usefulness of the RUL prediction model was proven through comparison with the prediction performance of other neural network-based algorithms.
