  • 고립단어 인식에서 동적 패턴 정합법은 비교적 간단한 알고리즘과 최소의 하드웨어를 요구하므로 간단한 응용분야에 효율적으로 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 동적 패턴 정합법을 이용한 기존의 고립단어 인식시스템에 기준패턴 그룹화를 이용하여 연산량을 감소시켜 저가형 프로세서에서도 고속으로 동작할 수 있게 한다.

A New Block-based Gradient Descent Search Algorithm for a Fast Block Matching (고속 블록 정합을 위한 새로운 블록 기반 경사 하강 탐색 알고리즘)

  • Since motion estimation remove the redundant data to employ the temporal correlations between adjacent frames in a video sequence, it plays an important role in digital video coding. And in the block matching algorithm, search patterns of different shapes or sizes and the distribution of motion vectors have a large impact on both the searching speed and the image quality. In this paper, we propose a new fast block matching algorithm using the small-cross search pattern and the block-based gradient descent search pattern. Our algorithm first finds the motion vectors that are close to the center of search window using the small-cross search pattern, and then quickly finds the other motion vectors that are not close to the center of search window using the block-based gradient descent search pattern. Through experiments, compared with the block-based gradient descent search algorithm(BBGDS), the proposed search algorithm improves as high as 26-40% in terms of average number of search point per motion vector estimation.

HDS Method for Fast Searching of Motion Vector (움직임 벡터의 빠른 추정을 위한 HDS기법)

  • In Block Matching Algorithm (BMA), a search pattern has a very important affect on the search time and the output quality. In this paper, we propose the HDS( Half Diamond Search) pattern based on the cross center-biased distribution property of a motion vector. At lust, the 4 points in the above, below, left, and right around the search center is calculated to decide the point of the MBD (Minimum Block Distortion). And an above point of the MBD is checked to calculate the SAD. If the SAD is less than the previous MBD, this process is repeated. Otherwise, the left and right points of MBD are calculated to decide the points that have the MBD between two points. These processes are repeated to the predicted direction for motion estimation. Experiments show that the speedup improvement of the proposed algorithm can be up to 23% while maintaining similar image quality.

  • In this paper, we propose the matching model between virtual reality and the real-world for peoples with limited mobility. The proposed matching model is consist of four parts: wearable input device-based PC control, hand-motion pattern recognition, application software, and matching between virtual reality and the real-world. To recognition mouse functions and hand-motion patterns from six-axis coordinate of wearable input device, RF communication is used. In addition, to easily control the real-world, virtual reality has been implemented with realism of the real-world. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the proposed model, and as a result, hand-motion recognition as well as virtual reality control are well performed.

  • In this paper, a high speed code synchronization circuit is proposed. for fast code synchronization, matched filler method is used for initial code acquisition with two channel correlators. Particular frequency patterns of the limited number having the information about PN code start time are composed and transmitted repeatedly to increase the probability of accurate initial synchronization. And digital frequency synthesizer is proposed. And it's performance is analyzed theoretically. The analysis show that fast frequency hopping is possible in frequency hopping system that use digital frequency synthesizer.

Multispectral Mural Underdrawing Mosaic Technique (다중스펙트럼 기반 벽화 밑그림 영상 모자익 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new accurate and robust image mosaic technique of the mural underdrawing taken from the infra-red camera, which is based on multiple image registration and adaptive blending technique. The image mosaicing methods which have been developed so far have the following deficits. It is hard to generate a high resolution image when there are regions that do not have features or intensity gradients, and there is a trade-off in overlapping region size in view of registration and blending. We consider these issues as follows. First, in order to mosaic images with neither noticeable features nor intensity gradients, we use a projected supplementary pattern and pseudo color image for features in the image pieces which are registered. Second, we search the overlapping region size with minimum blending error between two adjacent images and then apply blending technique to minimum error overlapping region. Finally, we could find our proposed method is more effective and efficient for image mosaicing than conventional mosaic techniques and also is more adequate for the application of infra-red mural underdrawing mosaicing. Experimental results show the accuracy and robustness of the algorithm

Fast Block Matching Algorithm based on Multiple Local Search Considering the Deviation of Matching Error between Regions (정합오차의 영역간 편차를 고려한 다중 국소 탐색기반 고속 블록 정합 알고리듬)

  • 고정된 패턴을 사용하는 기존의 고속 블록기반 움직임 추정법에서는 국소 최소해로 고립될 가능성이 있을 뿐만 아니라, 여러 움직임이 공존하는 움직임 경계에서 정확한 움직임의 추정이 어렵다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 탐색점의 수를 줄이는 동시에 국소 최소해로의 고립을 피하기 위하여 탐색 후보영역을 적용한 다중 국소 탐색법(multiple local search method : MLSM)을 제안한다. 또한, 블록 내의 움직임 영역별 정합오차의 최소편차를 고려하는 새로운 정합함수를 제안함으로써 움직임 경계에서 움직임 벡터추정의 부정확성과 움직임 보상영상에서의 화질저하문제를 개선하고자 한다. 실험결과, 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법에 비해 움직임 경계에서의 추정에서 우수한 결과를 보였으며, PSNR에 대해서도 전역탐색법과 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 움직임 보상결과, 움직임 경계부근에서의 향상된 화질을 얻을 수 있었다.

Fast Motion Estimation Using Efficient Selection of Initial Search Position (초기 탐색 위치의 효율적 선택에 의한 고속 움직임 추정)

  • 본 논문에서는 효과적으로 선택된 초기 탐색 위치를 이용한 움직임 추정의 고속 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에서는 2$\times$2화소 블록 평균으로 부표본화 영상에서 움직임 벡터를 얻어 원영상 비율로 확대하고, 주위 블록의 움직임으로부터 예측 움직임 벡터를 구하여, 이 중에서 정합오차가 작은 것을 초기 탐색 위치로 선택한다. 그리고 선택된 초기 탐색 위치를 중심으로 회전 탐색을 시작하여, 연속 소거 알고리즘으로 탐색할 후보 블록을 선택하고, 부분 정합 왜곡 소거법을 사용하여 블록간 정합오차 계산량을 줄이면서, 고속으로 움직임 벡터를 추정한다. 알고리즘의 실제 적용에 있어서는 선택된 초기 탐색 위치를 중심으로 회전 탐색 패턴의 탐색 범위를 조절하거나, 매크로 블록 당 복잡도를 제한하여 계산량을 줄일 수 있다. 실험 결과, 제안된 알고리즘은 전역탐색 블록정합 알고리즘에 대하여 0.2dB 이하의 미소한 평균 PSNR 저하만을 발생하면서, FBMA 복잡도의 3% 이하의 평균 복잡도를 소요하였다. 이것은 3단계 탐색법에 대하여 40% 이하의 계산량이다. 그리고 실험 영상들의 각 프레임에 대해서도 비슷한 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we proposed multi-resolution search method based on edge information that can be search a partial input pattern and detect a difference of minute shape information in effectively. The proposed method utilizes the small shape differences among objects as much as possible to distinguish an object from similar shaped objects. It consists of the GHT based candidate generation and top-down candidate verfication. The test results show that it can retrieve the correct object even with a part of object in reasonable time.

  • Content-based video copy detection is a complementary approach to watermarking. As opposed to watermarking, which relies on inserting a distinct pattern into the video stream, video copy detection techniques match content-based signatures to detect copies of video. Existing typical content-based copy detection schemes have relied on image matching which is based on key frame detection. This paper proposes a motion directional histogram, which is quantized and accumulated the direction of motion, for video copy detection. The video clip is represented by a motion directional histogram as a 1-dimensional graph. This method is suitable for real time indexing and counting the TV CF verification that is high motion video clips.
