Environmental consciousness, clothing recycling behavior and interest in fashion by awareness of upcycling and purchasing behavior for upcycled fashion products of middle & high school students (중고등학생의 업사이클링 인지와 업사이클 패션제품 구매행동에 따른 환경의식, 의복재활용행동, 패션관심)

  • Purchasing behavior for upcycled fashion products was examined along with analysis on environment consciousness, clothing recycling behavior, interest in fashion and awareness of upcycling. Students from middle schools, general high schools and design high schools participated in this research from August to September in 2013. 732 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS WIN. Firstly the levels of environmental consciousness, clothing recycling behavior and interest in fashion of students were high, low and mediate respectively. Female students showed higher environmental consciousness compared to male ones and clothing recycling behavior were found to be higher in students of design high schools than those of general ones. The level of interest in fashion was found to be higher in students of general high school than those of middle school, and this was higher in design high school students than those of general ones. Secondly, more than half of students were unaware of upcycling. Female students and students of design high schools were highly aware of upcycling. Students who were aware of upcycling showed high level of environmental consciousness, clothing recycling behaviour and interest in fashion. Thirdly, students had low experiences in purchasing upcycled fashion products and the reason was lack of awareness of upcycling. The reason that students purchased upcycled fashion products was the uniqueness and design. Students who purchased upcycled fashion products showed high environmental consciousness, clothing recycling behaviour, and interest in fashion.

A Study on Image Preferences of Fashion Product According to Personality and Body-Cathexis -Focused on Middle-Aged Women between 35 and 59 Years Old- (성격과 신체만족도에 따른 패션 제품의 이미지 선호도(제 2보) -35$\sim$59세 중년 여성을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of personal characteristics and body cathexis of middle-aged women on their clothing image preferences. Data was collected using questionnaire from 35 to 59 of age living in Daegu. The questions for personal characteristics included ascendancy, responsibility, emotional stability, sociability and self-confidence. Clothing images included the noble, bold, practical and female. Data were analyzed using SAS, SPSS programs for frequency, percentage, average, correlation, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The body cathexis of middle-aged women to their own body is not so high and the satisfaction with their body parts were face features, upper limb, lower limb, torso, height, physique, weight orderly. 2. The more satisfied with their body the higher emotional stability and self-confidence. 3. The more satisfied with the face the more preferred noble, bold, female image in doffing. The more satisfied with the torso and physique the more preferred bold, female image in clothing. 4. Middle-aged women with a high ascendancy preferred bold image and, those with a high responsibility preferred a practical image. Those with a high emotional stability preferred noble, practical image. Middle-aged women having a high sociability preferred noble, male image and having a high self-confidence preferred bole, male image.

Impact of Fashion Brand Personality on Brand Preference and Purchase Intention - Comparison among Formal, Casual, Sports Brands - (패션브랜드개성이 브랜드 선호도 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향 연구 - 정장, 캐주얼, 스포츠 브랜드의 비교 -)

  • As industrial development standardizes the quality of products, people are increasingly attracted by a certain brand with intangible value. Consumers, surrounded by a variety of brand in a market, want to have relationships with specific brands reflected by their personality. Especially in fashion, brand personality is more important since products are highly involved in terms of personal emotion. The purpose of the study is to identify the dimension of overall fashion brand personality, to specify the 'Dimension of Fashion Brand Personality' according to fashion product categories (i.e., formal wear, casual wear, sports wear), and to investigate the effect of each dimension of fashion brand personality on brand preference and purchase intention. The results were as follows: Firstly, based on Aaker(1997)'s 'Big five factors' and selection fashion brand personality factors from our pretest, the fashion brand personality factors were verified as 'Fashionable/ Innovative', 'Sincere', 'Universal! Stable', 'Professional'. Secondly, according to fashion product categories, brand personality was defined as below. Brand personality for formal wear included 'Innovative/ Active', 'Stable', 'Professional', and 'Universal'. Brand personality for casual wear included 'Fashionable/ Innovative', 'Active', 'Sincere', and 'Stable'. Brand personality for sports wear included 'Innovative', 'Social', 'and 'Sincere'. Finally, overall fashion brand personality factors (' Sincere', 'Universal! Stable', 'Professional') influenced on brand preference and purchase intention. In formal wear, 'Professional' influenced on brand preference and purchase intention. In casual wear, 'Active' influenced on brand preference, but 'Fashionable' and 'Sincere' influenced on purchase intention. In sports wear, 'Sincere' influenced on brand preference and 'Innovative' influenced on purchase intention.

A Study on the Job Aptitudity of Fashion Salesperson (패션 판매원의 직무적합성에 관한 연구)

  • The importance of emotional factors like as product aesthetics, branding strategies and service quality is increasing in today's marketplace. At the point of fashion product purchases, emotional factor is mainly related to personal selling. Rasearches related to job aptitudity of fashion salesperson are necessary as their role becoming more serious. This study was designed (1) to determine factors of job aptitudity of fashion salesperson; and (2) to examine relations between job aptitudity of fashion salesperson and other variables: demographics, job statistics, fashion involvement fashion innovativeness, ongoing information searching and job satisfaction. As a result, job aptitudty of fashion salesperson was determined into six dimensions by factor analysis: product knowledge, professionalism, involvement to the present profession, marketing cooperator, customer orientation and self management. Marketing cooperator and product knowledge was relatively !ow compared to other aptitudity factors. This finding suggests that the special education programs including textile/fashion product knowledge and value of field information for fashion salesperson is needed to enhance the integrated fashion marketing. The job aptitudity of salesperson was correlated with fashion involvement, fashion innovativeness, ongoing information searching, and job satisfaction. The job aptitudity-related scales which showed significant relation to job aptitudity in this study could be used as the index to examine the job aptitudity of potential employees of fashion retail company.

  • 본 연구에서는 천연염색 실크직물의 배색 시스템을 활용하여 배색 감성에 기반한 패션의류 제품을 개발하고자 하는 목적으로 천연염색 업계에서 즉시 활용 가능한 국내외 시판용 천연염재를 대상으로 균일화된 기계화 염색 공정을 통해 의류용 실크직물에 다양한 천연염색 색채를 발현한 후 대표 단색군을 선별하여 동일톤과 유사톤의 원리를 이용한 3배색 데이터 베이스를 구축하였다. 나아가 현대적이면서 한국적인 텍스타일 모티브를 개발하여 3배색 데이터를 적용한 배색 디자인을 제시하고, 이들 모티브와 배색 디자인이 적용된 패션 의류 아이템들을 제작하여 천연염색을 활용한 실크직물의 배색 감성을 적용한 현대적 하이-프리미엄 패션의류제품을 제안하였다.

  • 끊임없이 발전하는 기술은 4차 산업혁명시대를 열게하는 중심이 되었으며 세상의 모든 것을 변화시켜가고 있다. 최근에는 혁신적이고 고도화된 IT 기술이 완전히 다른 분야와 유기적으로 융합하여 새로운 가치를 만들어 가고 있다. 특히 패션 분야에서는 이와 같은 선도적인 기술을 바탕으로 패션, 그 이상의 기능을 담당하는 '스마트패션'의 시대를 맞이하고 있다. 패션에서의 새로운 산업 분야로 자리매김하고 있는 스마트패션에 대한 사용자의 요구가 증대하고 새로운 제품을 출시하고자 하는 기업의 시도가 계속되고 있으나 학교 현장에서는 이에 대한 적절한 교육과정이 부재한 상태이다. 특히 IT 엔지니어와 패션 디자이너와의 협업의 경험이 전무할뿐만 아니라 제품을 설계하고 제작해 나가는 과정에 대한 개념이 서로 완전히 상이하여 융합의 시도가 단지 시도로 그치고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 IT와 패션 전공 학생들이 함께 참여할 수 있는 융합 교과 과정을 설계함으로써 미래의 산업사회 요구에 선제적으로 대응하고자 한다. 이를 통해 상이한 전공을 가지고 있는 두 전공 학생들에게 타 전공에 대한 지식을 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 동시에 융합에 대한 경험을 충분히 제공함으로써 미래 시장으로의 선도 진입과 역할 수행의 적합성을 이루어 낼 수 있도록 한다.

Understanding MZ Generation's Perceptions and Preferences for Eco-Friendly Consumption and Upcycled Souvenirs

  • This study aims to explore the perceptions of MZ's on eco-friendly consumption and their preferences for eco-friendly souvenirs. The top reasons for buying upcycling products include design, price, differentiation, and environmentalism, with design having the most influence on product purchase. Design is also a top consideration when buying upcycling souvenirs. Regarding environmental issues, they were most aware of the seriousness of environmental pollution and thought that recycling of fashion products was necessary. When it comes to eco-friendly fashion purchasing behaviors, the most common choice is to buy clothes that will last longer than those that are in fashion. Upcycling products are more likely to be purchased when there is a concern for the environment or an interest in eco-friendly products. In addition, those who have purchased upcycling products are more likely to be aware of and interested in eco-friendly fashion products and recycling of fashion products. Women are more likely than men to be concerned about environmental issues, and women are also more likely to be aware of upcycling souvenirs. In future research, it would be useful to study the relationship between upcycling products, environmental issues, consumer behavior, and upcycling souvenirs.

Influence of Consumer Self-confidence and Self-confidence in Fashion Coordination on Attitude toward Secondhand Fashion Goods and Purchase Intention of Secondhand Fashion Goods (소비자 자신감과 패션연출 자신감이 중고패션제품에 대한 태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the influence of consumer self-confidence and self-confidence in fashion coordination on the attitude toward secondhand fashion goods and the purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. Questionnaire data from 346 university students were analyzed and the results were summarized as follows. First, there were five factor solutions in consumer self-confidence: information acquisition, personal outcomes decision making, social outcomes decision making, consideration-set information, persuasion knowledge. Second, information acquisition, social outcomes decision making, and consideration-set information had significant effects on self-confidence in fashion coordination, while personal outcomes decision making and persuasion knowledge had no effect on self-confidence in fashion coordination. Third, self-confidence in fashion coordination had a significant effect on attitude toward secondhand fashion goods however, it had no effect on purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. Fourth, attitude toward secondhand fashion goods had a significant effect on the purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. The results show diverse implications for marketers and managers of secondhand fashion goods.
