금형 내부 압력 최소화를 위한 자동차 인스트루먼트 패널의 게이트 위치 최적화 (Gate Locations Optimization of an Automotive Instrument Panel for Minimizing Cavity Pressure)

  • Cavity pressure, an important factor in injection molding process, should be minimized to enhance injection molding quality. In this study, we decided the locations of valve gates to minimize the maximum cavity pressure. To solve this problem, we integrated MAPS-3D (Mold Analysis and Plastic Solution-3Dimension), a commercial injection molding analysis CAE tool, using the file parsing method of PIAnO (Process Integration, Automation and Optimization) as a commercial process integration and design optimization tool. In order to reduce the computational time for obtaining the optimal design solution, we performed an approximate optimization using a meta-model that replaced expensive computer simulations. To generate the meta-model, computer simulations were performed at the design points selected using the optimal Latin hypercube design as an experimental design. Then, we used micro genetic algorithm equipped in PIAnO to obtain the optimal design solution. Using the proposed design approach, the maximum cavity pressure was reduced by 17.3% compared to the initial one, which clearly showed the validity of the proposed design approach.

SQP법을 이용한 최적선형개발에 대한 연구 (Study for the Development of an Optimum Hull Form using SQP)

  • 본 연구에서는 최적화기법과 전산유체역학의 기술을 이용하여 저항의 관점에서 최적의 형상을 가지는 선형을 개발하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 최적화기법으로는 SQP(sequential quadratic programming)을 사용하였으며, 목적함수인 저항을 구하기 위하여 먼저 조파저항은 비선형 자유수면 경계조건을 고려한 선체주위 포텐셜유동을 계산할 수 있는 수치해석기법인 상 방향 패널이동법을 사용하였고, 선체에 미치는 전 저항을 구하기 위하여 ITTC 1957년 모형선-실선상관곡선을 이용하였다. 선형최적화 과정 중의 선체의 변경이나 계산 격자의 생성은 NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline)기법을 사용하여 구현하였다. 이와 같은 방법을 사용하여 개발된 선형최적화 기법의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 선형이 비교적 잘 알려진 건형인 Wigley선형과 Series 60(CB=0.6)선형에 대하여 설계속도 Fn=0.316에서 선형최적화를 위한 수치해석을 수행하고 그 결과를 초기선형과 서로 비교하였다.

  • Though multi-panel structures lined with a poroelastic material have been widely used to reduce sound transmission in various fields, most of the previous works to design them were conducted by repeated analyses or experiments based on initially given configurations or sequences. Therefore, it was difficult to obtain the optimal sequence of multi-panel structures lined with a poroelastic material yielding superior sound isolation capability. In this work, we propose a new design method to sequence a multi-panel structure lined with a poroelastic material having maximized sound transmission loss. Being formulated as a one-dimensional topology optimization problem for a given target frequency, the optimal sequencing of panel-poroelastic layers is systematically carried out in an iterative manner. In this method, a panel layer is expressed as a limiting case of a poroelastic layer to facilitate the optimization process. This means that main material properties of a poroelastic material are treated as Interpolated functions of design variables. The designed sequences of panel-poroelastic layers were shown to be significantly affected by the target frequencies; more panel layers were used at higher target frequencies. The sound transmission loss of the system was calculated by the transfer matrix derived from Biot's theory.

  • 최근 TV 대응 LCD 제품의 본격적인 양산과 더불어 LCD TV 의 색재현성에 대한 해결과제가 큰 문제로 대두되고 있으며, CRT 급 색재현성의 확보는 LCD TV 의 고급화를 위한 또 하나의 개발 방향이 되고 있다. 그러나, CF(Color Filter)만을 이용한 색재현성의 개선은 근본적으로 한계를 가지고 있으며, 패널 투과율의 저하로 이어져 또다시 고휘도 사양의 BL(Back Light)에 대한 요구가 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 CF(Color Filter)만에 의한 색재현성의 개선이 아닌 BL 광원 자체의 스펙트럼 최적화를 통해서 CRT 급 색재현성의 확보를 통한 고부가가치 상품개발의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 램프형광체의 RED 와 Green-Blue 영역에서의 Intensity 향상을 통해서 기존의 CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)과는 다른 특성을 광원에 부가하여, 기본의 LCD 패널을 그대로 이용한 경우에도 색재현성을 약 11% 개선하였다.

태양광패널 온도제어를 위한 PCM시스템 최적화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study for optimizing the thermal regulating system with phase change material on the photovoltaic panel)

  • The experimental study is performed to investigate the optimum design of the system dissipating properly heat from the in-situ solar panel installed on site. For this purpose, six 12-Watts panels, which are set at the different conditions of the solar panels contained phase change material, changing the array of the aluminum fin and honeycomb at the back of the panel, are tested. PCM, which has $44^{\circ}C$ melting point, is chosen in this study. In order to enhance the thermal heat from the absorbed heat in PCM, finned aluminum plate is placed. Furthermore, Aluminum honeycomb is imbedded in the back container to find if it would improve the thermal conductivity of PCM. As a result, the solar panel, which is combined with honeycomb and outward fins with PCM instead of placing the fine inward, is showing the best performance in terms of controling panel temperature and efficiency.

상변환물질을 활용한 태양광 패널 표면온도 제어효과 및 최적화 시스템 (Temperature Control for PV Panel Absorbing Heat by Phase Change Material and its Estimation)

  • The experimental study was conducted to optimize the system dissipating properly heat from the in-situ solar panel installed on the roof. For this purpose, six 12-Watt panels, which were consisted of the different design conditions such as containing phase change material(PCM), changing the array of the aluminum fin and honeycomb at the back of the panel, were tested. PCM, which had $44^{\circ}C$ melting point, was chosen in this study. In order to enhance absorbing and expelling heatin PCM, profiled aluminum fin was placed either inward oroutward from the panel. Furthermore, Aluminum honeycomb is imbedded in the back container to find if it would improve the thermal conductivity of PCM. During the experiment, there were ranged to $26^{\circ}C\sim32^{\circ}C$ for outdoor temperature and $700W/m^2\sim1000W/m^2$ for irradiance. As a result, the solar panel, combined with honeycomb and outward fins with PCM instead of placing the fins inward, is showing the best performance in terms of controling panel temperature and its efficiency.

가상현실 기반 사용자 참여형 타공패널 파사드 설계 방법론 (User-Participated Design Method for Perforated Metal Facades using Virtual Reality)

  • Perforated metal sheets are used as panels of facades for controlling environmental factors while ensuring user's visibility. Despite their functional potentials, only a specific direction of facades or an orientation of a building was considered in the relevant studies. This study proposed a design methodology for the perforated panel facades that reflects the location on the facades and the user's requirements. The optimization of quantitative and qualitative performance is achieved through communication between designers and users in a VR system. In optimizing quantitative performances, designers use machine learning techniques such as clustering and genetic algorithm to allocate optimal panels on the facades. In optimizing qualitative performances, through the VR system, users intervene in evaluating performances whose preferences are depending on them. The experiment using the office project showed that designers were able to make decisions based on clustering using GMM to optimize multiple quantitative performances. The gap between the target and final performance could be narrowed by limiting the types of perforated panels considering mass customization. In assessing visibility as a qualitative performance, users were able to participate in the design process using the VR system.

철도차량 차체용 더블 스킨 알루미늄 압출 패널의 감쇠특성 (Damping Characterization of the Double-skin Aluminum Extruded Panels for Rolling Stock Carbody)

  • 철도차량 차체 설계시 음압레벨에 따른 소음해석을 통한 차체 패널의 감쇠특성을 최적화하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문은 철도차량 차체용 알루미늄 더블스킨 압출패널의 진동감쇠특성 해석을 통한 철도차량 차체의 구조소음 해석에 관한 연구이다. 주파수응답 가진시험을 통하여 측정된 기계적 모빌리티 값인 포인트 모빌리티, 트랜스퍼 모빌리티, 모달 모빌리티와 단순음원이론을 사용하여 정규화된 음압을 계산하였다. 도포용 감쇠재의 감쇠값을 라미네이티드 쉘요소에 사용하여 유한요소해석을 수행함으로써, 감쇠처리에 의한 소음감소수준 예측을 하였다. 또한 실제 차량 구조와 유사한 고정경계조건의 감쇠특성해석을 통하여 열차주행시 발생하는 진동의 영향을 크게 받는 언더프레임과 같은 부위에 일정 두께의 감쇠재 코팅이 진동 및 소음억제에 큰 효과가 있을 것으로 사료된다.
