A Study of Enhancing Reliability for Determining the Resistance to Surface Wetting by Imaging Process (이미징 기반의 발수도 판별을 통한 측정 신뢰도 향상에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose useful suggestions for enhancing reliability to determine the resistance against surface wetting, KS K 0590, by an imaging process. We validated the standard spray test rating chart for determining quantification standard using JAVA script-based imaging process program. All of the acquired images were processed with the image software, Image J (NIH, Nethesda, MD, USA). The study results are as follows. We established the surface area measurement-based quantitative criteria for determining resistance to surface wetting. The standard spray test rating chart was converted into a numerical standard which leads easy-to-determine ratings. We also validated the procedure for imaging treatment by analyzing quantitative data. We introduced the fluorescence image for determining ratings by enabling threshold settings and binary image conversion as an optimal imaging process. It is expected that imaging-based determination for resistant to surface wetting will serve as an accurate and reliable method for KS K 0590.

Low-cost Impedance Technique for Structural Health Monitoring (임피던스 기반 저비용 구조물 건전성 모니터링 기법)

  • This paper presents a method for detecting damage to a structure at low cost using its impedance. The impedance technique is a typical method to detect local damage for structural health monitoring. This is a common technique for estimating damage by monitoring the electro-mechanical admittance signal of the structure. To apply this technique, an expensive impedance analyzer is generally used. On the other hand, it is necessary to develop a low-cost variant to effectively disseminate the technique. In this study, a method based on the transfer impedance using a function generator and digital multimeter, which are generally used in the laboratory instead of an impedance analyzer, was developed. That is, this technique estimates the damage by comparing the damage index using the amplitude ratio of the output voltage measured in the healthy and damaged state. A transfer impedance test was carried out on a steel specimen. By comparing the damage index, the presence of damage could be assessed reasonably. This study is a basic investigation of an impedance-based low-cost damage detection method that can be used effectively for structural health monitoring if supplemented with future research to estimate the damage location and severity.

  • 지하 배관 구조물은 국가 주요 자원의 수송망을 책임지는 핵심적인 기능을 수행하는 시설물로써, 배관구조물의 노후화와 부식, 균열, 조인트 풀림 등의 손상으로 인한 누출사고 발생 시 막대한 사회 경제적 손실을 초래할 우려가 있다. 특히, 지중배관 및 노출배관 경우에는, 현장 작업상황이 지속적으로 변화하고 있는 상황에서 24시간 안전관리에 대한 감시체계가 미흡한 것이 현실이다. 고가의 센서설치 및 배관의 유지관리 비용 등의 문제를 극복하려는 센서개발 연구 및 센서로부터 취득된 계측데이터를 현장에서 분석하여 실시간으로 배관의 이상상태를 판정하여 원격으로 그 판정결과를 알려주는 유비쿼터스 원격감시기법에 대한 연구 및 기술개발이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 USN 기술을 활용한 배관안전진단 기술을 소개하고 임피던스 기반의 자가 감지 기법을 활용한 다양한 구조의 배관에 대해 진단 연구를 수행 하였다.

  • This paper presents a sampling based demodulation method of PJM signal and a hardware structure to implement the proposed demodulator. The proposed method, using matched filters in the discrete time domain, can make decisions on 4 different sampled signals caused by MFM encoding. We mathematically derive the BER of the proposed demodulation method and prove its validity through simulation results.

  • 경험적으로 방법에 의존해온 대형 진동햄머다짐의 영향심도를 평가하고자 수치해석적인 기법을 사용하였다. 수치해석적인 기법을 사용하였다. 수치해석에 사용한 프로그램은 범용 유한요소 해석프로그램인 ABAQUS이며, 인천 신공항 매립지에서 시험 시공한 대형 진동햄머다짐의 자료와 수치해석한 결과의 비교를 통해 검증하였다. 수치해성에 사용한 물성은 현장시험과 실내시험을통해 구하였으며 영향깊이는 지반이 동적 하중에 변형할 때 소산하는 소성변형율에너지량의 분포를 판정하였다. 수치해석결과 소성변형율에너지 소산량의 시간에 따른 변화로부터 다짐의 영향깊이 및 수평영향거리를 추정할 수 있었다. 소성변형율에너지 수렴시의 외부에너지를 Menard의 경험식에 적용할 경우 영향깊이를 판정할 수 있음을 알았다. 따라서 Menardtlr으로부터 영향깊이를 다짐하는데 필요한 최소한의 에너지를 구할수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Variations in relevance assessments and evaluation of the performance of full-text retrieval system (상이한 적합성 판정과 전문검색시스템의 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the extent to which variations in relevance assessments affect the evaluation of the performance of full-text retrieval system. Four sets of relevance judgments obtained by examining the full-text of documents were used to test the retrieval effectiveness. There was no noticeable difference in retrieval performance among the four relevance judgment sets. It implies that a variety of definitions of relevance has no effect on the evaluation of the performance of the full-text retrieval system. Furth r retrieval experiments on this topic incorporating relevance feedback, which is one of the sophisticated retrieval techniques using relevance information, are suggested.

A Film-Defect Inspection System Using Image Segmentation and Template Matching Techniques (영상 세그멘테이션 및 템플리트 매칭 기술을 응용한 필름 결함 검출 시스템)

  • In this paper, we design and implement the Film Defect Inspection System (FDIS) that detects film defects and determines their types which can be used for producing polarized films of TFT-LCD. The proposed system is designed to detect film defects from polarized film images using image segmentation techniques and to determine defect types through the image analysis of detected defects. To determine defect types, we extract features such as shape and texture of defects, and compare those features with corresponding features of referential images stored in a template database. Experimental results using FDIS show that the proposed system detects all defects of test images effectively (Precision 1.0, Recall 1.0) and efficiently (within 0.64 second in average), and achieves the considerably high correctness in determining defect types (Precision 0.96 and Recall 0.95 in average). In addition, our system shows the high robustness for rotated transformation of images, achieving Precision 0.95 and Recall 0.89 in average.

  • In this paper, a CFNC (Complex Field Network Coding) scheme is presented, which focuses on improving transmission efficiency by reducing time slots that are needed to exchange data frames. Conventional CFNC scheme has the advantage of minimizing the number of time slots required for information exchanges. However, there exists serious performance deterioration because the transmit signals are interfered with each other. Moreover, when CFNC scheme is applied, the estimation and compensation performance of fine frequency offset severely deteriorates due to the multiple frequency offsets in received signal of relay node. In order to overcome these critical problems, we propose an improved CFNC scheme with modified maximum likelihood decision method which uses uplink transmit diversity. Also, we propose an enhanced fine frequency offset estimation method and a corresponding compensation method to deal with the multiple frequency offsets. Corresponding simulation results verify that the proposed methods are able to effectively solve the problems of CFNC scheme.

  • 발전효율은 증기발생용 수질 보일러의 구조 및 재질 등 여러가지가 있겠으나 그중 연료의 연소효율이 가장 중요하여 이것과 관련한 성상 및 연료현상에 대하여 기술하고 또한 국내에서는 이를 성능시험에 대한 제도적 장치 및 기법이 확립되어 있지 않아 성능 기준의 판정이 곤란한 실정이므로 측정 방법도 간단히 부연하였다.
