Many former industrial cities such as Cleveland, Ohio are trying to transform their identities from blue-collar manufacturing centers to white-collar professional hubs. As a result, the re-use of land previously occupied by industrial firms has been on the rise as an important sustainable land-use strategy in the United States. Ohio's Cuyahoga County offers a Brownfield Redevelopment Fund to overcome the environmental barriers inherent in re-use in order to obtain full use of underutilized properties in the county. This study estimates externality effects of brownfield redevelopment projects (BRPs) on nearby housing sales prices in Cuyahoga County. Typical hedonic regression models that employ "difference-in-difference" techniques are used to compare proximal housing sale prices before and after the completion of BRPs.

L-Thyroxine possessing a chiral center, the naturally occurring thyroid hormone has been used for the treatment of thyroid dysfunctions and marketed as levothyroxine (L-thyroxine) sodium salt. In this study, after extraction of levothyroxine tablet as a pre-treatment process, direct enantiomer separation of thyroxine on crown ether derived chiral columns for determination of optical purity was performed using reversed mobile phase with acid additive. The chromatographic method developed in this study was applied in the determination of optical purity of several current domestic and foreign commercialized levothyroxine tablets. Optical purity values of these commercialized L-thyroxine sodium tablets except one were higher than 99 percents.

In this paper, the front radiuses of curvature of spherical spectacle lenses in the cosmetic and optical point of view are investigated and are calculated using Zinken-Sommer condition. The optical power of all spherical spectacle lens shows good quality at the test using autometic lensmeter. However the front radiuses of curvature of spherical spectacle lenses are quite different depending on the lens companies. The front radius of curvature of those lenses is larger than that calculated using Zinken-Sommer condition. We know that the front radius of curvature of commercial spectacle lens is emphasized more cosmetic aspect than optical point of view.

Yoqurt products are known to be effective for enhancing health and preventing diseases such as cancers. Such effects are generally believed to be due to actions of polysacchmides in yoqurt products. In this study we have determined compositions of monosaccharides in hydrolysates of commercial yoqrtrt products as the first step of understanding structures of polysaccharides. The yoqtrrt products were ttltracentrifuged, filtered, hydrolyzed in 1M sulfuric acid and neutralized. A portion of the solution was taken and evaporated to dryness, denvatized with TMSI (trimethly- silylimidazole) and analyzed by GC/MS. We found that the monosaccharides were fructose, glucose, and galactose. Their compositions were variant among several yoqtrrt products.

에너지 관련 자원 가격의 급등으로 전력 생산 비용이 증가하여 세계 여러 나라의 전력 회사들이 재정적인 어려움에 직면하고 있다. 이러한 전력 생산 비용과 판매가격의 왜곡을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 여러 방법이 모색되고 있다. 제안된 여러 방법 중 스마트 미터링 시스템은 에너지 소비자의 에너지 소비 패턴을 변화시키고 자율적인 에너지 절감을 유도하는 효과가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 세계 여러 나라에서 이 시스템 도입을 검토하고 있으며 우리나라에서도 이 시스템의 보급을 위해 2008년 실효성 검증을 위한 실증 연구 과제를 추진하였다. 본 논문에서는 2008년 수행한 스마트 미터링 시스템 실증 과제에서 개발된 한국형 스마트 미터링 시스템을 소개하고 실증을 통해 에너지 정보 표시 장치의 에너지 절감 효과를 검증한다. 실증 연구는 2008년 12월부터 2009년 2월까지 약 2개월동안 청주와 서울에서 77가구를 대상으로 수행되었다. 본 논문에는 실증을 통해 얻어진 에너지 절감 효과와 참가자들을 대상으로 한 설문 조사의 결과에 대해 소개한다.

유도전동기(이하 $''$모터$''$라 한다)는 기본 원리가 19세기말에 발명된 이래 100년 이상의 역사를 갖고 있으며 그 동안 제조업의 기간동력으로 성장하여 왔고, 재료의 진보(코어, 전선, 절연 등)와 설계기술$\cdot$해석기술$\cdot$제조기술의 개발로 각 특성의 향상, 소형$\cdot$경량화, 고성능화가 도모되어 왔다. 그러나 최근의 지구온난화를 포함한 환경보호와 화석에너지 고갈위기감으로 에너지절약 움직임이 가속화되고 있어, 모터에 대해서도 고효율화의 요구가 높아가고 있다. 미국이나 캐나다에서는 규격이나 법률에 의한 모터의 효율규제가 실시되어, 특히 1997년 10월 24일에 시행된 미국에너지정책법(EPAct)은 미국 국내에서 제조$\cdot$판매 또는 해외로부터 수입되는 모터단체(단체)나 기계에 조립되어 있는 모터도 미국에너지정책법에서 규정하고 있는 효율기준치를 충족하지 못할 경우에는 벌칙이 부과되는 엄격한 실정이다. 일본에서는 종래 고효율모터의 효율기준치는 일본전기공업회 기술자료 제137호(성에너지를 위한 전동기의 선정과 운용)에 따르고 있었으나 미국에너지정책법을 기초로 새로히 일본공업규격(JIS C 4212)이 2000년 7월에 제정되었다. 미쓰비시(삼릉)전기는 일본의 JIS 규격과 EPAct법 양쪽의 효율기준치를 만족하는 고효율모터를 시리즈화하고 또한 미국에너지성의 적합증명번호(CC넘버)를 일본 국내 메이커로서는 처음으로 취득하였기에 다음에 고효율모터와 모터의 고효율화 기술에 대하여 소개한다.

Software globalization is the supporting process of adapting computer software to different country and culture. Most efforts for software globalization have been focused on the development of software implementation techniques or tools. However, global software sold worldwide has different requirements implied by different contexts, and the difference of requirements may derive different architectural design. In this paper, we define such architectural design knowledge as knowledge models and propose a method for developing and using the knowledge models for software globalization. Also we use set-top box middleware systems for digital data broadcast to validate the applicability of the proposed models and methods.

(사)한국포장협회(회장 신동호)는 지난해 9월 1일부터 총 92개 회원사를 대상으로 '회원사 실태조사'를 추진했다. 회원사의 매출규모를 비롯해 재직 인원, 연구개발 및 품질관리 실태, 또 내수 및 대외 수출 활동 현황, 경쟁력 여부 등을 조사 분석한 후 2017년 5월 '2016년도 (사)한국포장협회 회원사 실태조사 결과 보고서'를 발표했다. 이 보고서는 연포장 가공, 필름 및 시트, 알루미늄박, 그라비어잉크, 제판, 인쇄기계 및 부품, 기타 부자재 생산 및 판매를 조사 분석하여 신뢰성 있는 통계자료를 만드는데 초점을 맞춰 실시했다. 협회 관계자는 "조사사업을 통해 협회 회원사가 국내 패키징산업에서 차지하고 있는 비중을 파악하고, 국내 및 외국 바이어들에게 우리협회 회원사의 생산능력과 생산기술 등을 소개하는 자료로 활용할 뿐만 아니라 도출된 통계 자료를 바탕으로 패키징산업에 대한 대정부 지원을 유도하고, 협회가 추진하고 있는 해외수출사업의 지원 자료를 위한 기초 자료를 만들 계획"이라고 소개했다. 또한 "이 보고서는 회원사는 물론 패키징업계가 공유해 과잉투자, 과당경쟁방지에도 활용할 예정"이라고 말했다. (사)한국포장협회는 2년마다 전 협회 회원사를 대상으로 실태조사사업을 실시하고 그 결과를 발표하고 있다. 다음에 '2016년도 (사)한국포장협회 회원사 실태조사 결과보고서'의 주요 내용을 살펴보도록 한다.

국내에서는 전력산업의 규제가 점차 완화되면서 전력시장은 새로운 틀이 형성되어지고 있다. 전력시장의 구조개편후 각 전력회사들은 그들의 판매수익을 높이기 위하여 행동하게 될 것이다. 즉 그들의 부하를 적절하게 조절함으로써 한계비용이 평균비용보다 낮게 유지되도록 하여 이윤극대화를 추구해 나갈 것이다. 따라서 전력회사들은 수요측의 관리가 과거 어느 때 보다 필요하게 될 것이며, 어떻게 하면 부하곡선의 피크치를 억제할 것인지 생각하게 된다. 이러한 것을 해결하기 위해 전력회사들은 그들의 소비자 대부분을 수요관리 프로그램에 참여시키 부하관리를 할 것이며 이를 통해 피크치 부하를 억제시켜 한계비용을 줄이려할 것이다. 소비자들을 수요관리 프로그램에 참여토록 유도하기 위하여 전력회사는 여러 가지 인센티브를 제공하게 되는데, 소비자들은 이러한 인센티브를 받아 프로그램에 참여할 것인지를 선택하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 전력회사가 수요관리 프로그램을 실행할 때 어떤 효과를 얻게 되고 참여자들이 느끼는 순이익은 어떻게 될지를 고려하게 될 것이다. 이러한 것들은 전력회사 입장에서는 수요관리 프로그램을 실행하는 것이 그들에게 이익을 가져다 줄 것인지를 말해주며 소비자들은 그들의 프로그램에 지속적으로 참여할 것인지를 선택하게 될 것이다.

Using Arduino with a pressure sensor to create an interest in modern health care program is aimed. Currently, Korea is estimated that there are 4.2 million people in total incontinence. Through the convergence of Bio Technology and InformationTechnology these patients it is easy and simple to induce urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction treatment, etc., and to prevent the most effective pelvic floor muscle exercises (Kegel exercises below). The Kegel medical equipments which are currently sold in the market make users exercise by giving electrical stimulations compulsively. Users need to take off their bottoms and take the Femcon therapy in a closed room. This causes various restrictions of time, space and hygiene. This thesis designs a Kegel medical equipment which combines BT and IT, free form restraint in regard to space and hygiene, without the need to take off bottoms.
