A study on the rain attenuation prediction model using effective permittivity (실효유전율을 이용한 강우감쇠 예측 모델에 관한 연구)

  • We calculated the wave attenuation due to rain using the effective permittivity of the air with raindrops. The effective permittivity depends on the complex permittivity of rain drop and the fractional volume occupied by the raindrops. We calculate the complex permittivity of rain drop and the raindrops' volume using Marshall-Palmer Rain drop size distribution. The rain attenuation calculated by effective permittivity is compared with the results of ITU rain attenuation model, and the two rain attenuation models have a very close agreement. The effetive permittivity model underestimates the rain attenuation under 50 GHz, and overestimate at the frequencies under 50 GHz copmpared with the ITU model.

Characterization of Fracture Roughness in Coarse.medium.fine Grained Granite (암반 불연속면의 거칠기 특성 - 조.중.세립질 화강암을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose of this study is to quantitatively characterize the fracture roughness which was measured with a confocal laser scanning microscope. The roughness discrete data measured by confocal laser microscope were analyzed by spectral analysis and fast Fourier transform (FFT).The roughness data by used noise reduction filter were applied for fractal analysis to describe roughness features quantitatively. Artificial fractures created by Brazilian test on granites were used to measure fracture roughness under the confocal laser scanning microscope. Measurements were performed along three scan lines on each fracture surface. 36 scan lines were determined on 12 specimens in total. Features of roughness showed that coarse and medium grained granites tend to more rough features than those of fine grained granites. Continuous analog data of roughness is possible to described as discrete data of measure roughness with a fixed interval under the confocal laser microscope. Results of FFT with the measured data showed the highest values on the second harmonics. Distribution of average amplitude of second harmonics was observed 0.9853 in coarse grained granite, 1.0792 in medium grained granite and 0.6794 in fine grained granite. This indicates that the larger roughness has the higher energy of harmonics as the result of fractal analysis in low frequency zone.

A Blind Watermarking for 3-D Mesh Sequence Using Temporal Wavelet Transform of Vertex Norms (꼭지점 좌표 벡터 크기값의 시간축 웨이블릿 변환을 이용한 3차원 메쉬 시퀀스의 블라인드 워터마킹)

  • In this paper, we present a watermarking method for 3-D mesh sequences. The main idea is to transform vertex norm with the identical connectivity index along temporal axis using wavelet transform and modify the distribution of wavelet coefficients in temporally high (or middle) frequency frames according to watermark bit to be embedded. All vertices are divided into groups, namely bin, using the distribution of coefficients in low frequency frames. As the vertices with the identical connectivity index over whole frames belong to one bin, their wavelet coefficients are also assigned into the same bin. Then, the watermark is embedded into the wavelet coefficients of vertex norm. Due to the use of the distribution, our method can retrieve the hidden watermark without any information about original mesh sequences in the process of watermark detection. Through simulations, we show that the proposed is flirty robust against various attacks that are probably concerned in copyright protection of 3-D mesh sequences.

  • All spacecraft components shall be checked for compatibility with vacuum using CVCM and TML in advance. CVCM and TML of the PZT-5 piezoelectric vibrator has to be less than 0.1% and 1.0% respectively. Also, it has less than $500ng/cm^2/hr$ of TQCM for vacuum bake-out test using high temperature and high vacuum. Thus, the piezoelectric vibrator may be employed in the vacuum environments. Finally, it can be confirmed that the characteristics change of the piezoelectric vibrator is less than 1% under vacuum environments. Also, the temperature dependency of the characteristics in the PZT-5 piezoelectric vibrator with the lateral mode was investigated in the range of $-100^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$ using the thermal vacuum chamber to utilize the vibrator to the aerospace industries. As the results, at room temperature, the resonant and anti-resonant frequencies had the minimum value, whereas, the dielectric constant increased linearly from about 2500 to 7500 in the given temperature range. The mechanical loss decreased linearly from 0.08 to 0.03.

A study on the sharing between NGSO/MSS service link and existing fixed-service microwave system (NGSO / MSS 서비스링크와 기존 고정서비스 마이크로웨이브 시스템간의 주파수 공유에 관한 연구)

  • This paper examined the feasibility of adding a new NGSO/MSS(Non-Geostationary orbit/Mobile satellite service) service link to a frequency band which is already allocated to fixed-service microwave(M/W) system. To achieve this goal, the NGSO/MSS handset performance under the influence of the M/W multiple stations and the influence of handsets on the M/W station were both analyzed. Sharing criterions were also obtained by means of coordination contour in the former case, and handset capacity in the latter case. As the results, it was proven that sharing was feasible only when the vertical distance between handset and trendline was above 4 km except front and back points of M/W antenna bore sight under influence of 9 hops(the distance between hops = 50 km) M/W system on the NGSO/MSS handset, and only when the capacity of handset was below $7.0\times10^{-14}$ handsets/ $m^{2}$ under influence of handsets on the M/W station.

  • 최근 기계장치로부터 발생하는 소음을 감소시키는 새로운 방법으로서, 능동 적으로 소음을 제어하는 방법에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이것은 원하지 않는 소음을 그 신호의 역위상을 갖는 부가음을 이용하여 능동적으 로 감쇠시키는 방법으로서, 저주파수 대역에서 비효율적인 수동적인 방법인 소음기둥에 대한 대안으로 많은 학자들의 관심의 대상이 되어 왔다. 초기에 는 소음을 줄이기 위해 요구되는 여러가지 음향요소의 전달함수를 제어하는 데 대한 불가능성으로 인해 능동 소음제어에 대한 실질적인 발전이 지연되 어 왔으나 최근 마이크로 컴퓨터를 비롯한 전자공학의 발전으로 인해 적응 신호처리 분야가 등장하게 되었으며, 음향계의 소음을 원하는 수준까지 제어 하는 능동 소음제어의 실시간 구현이 가능하게 되었다. 그 중에서도 음이 1 차원적으로 전파한다고 볼 수 있는 길이가 긴 덕트구조물에서의 능동 소음 제어는 가장 기본적이며 현실적으로 자동차 배기계나 냉동.공조설비에 있어 서 실용적으로 적용할 수 있는 문제임 만큼 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 능동 소음제어 방법을 음향계에 적용하였을 때, 부가적인 음을 발생 하는 제어용 스피커로 인해 입력마이크로폰으로의 음향궤환이 존재하고 이 에 따라 제어계가 불안정해질 수 있으며, 또한 변환기의 사용으로 인한 부가 적인 전달함수가 존재하므로 이에 대한 중요한 의미를 갖고 고려하여야 한 다. 본 연구에서는 적응 필터링 이론에 의한 소음원의 입력신호에 대한 최적 한 예측으로써 부가음을 발생시키고, 입력신호 및 제어된 출력신호간의 차인 오차를 최소화 시키도록 하는 오차적응제어법을 이용한 능동소음 제어 방법 을 제시하였다. 이와 아울러 제어계의 환경변화에 따른 파라메타의 변화에 적응적으로 응답이 가능해야 하는 적응 소음제어 시스템에서, 음향궤환과 함 께 필히 고려해야 하는 부가적인 전달함수의 영향을 고려한 능동 소음제어 에 대해 연구하였다. 경량화 추세에 따라 지반이나 케이싱이 경량이거나 유연하여 회전축과 동적으로 연성된 경우 회전축-베어링-지반으로 이루어진 2중구조의 회전축 계 동특성을 해석할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하므로서 회전 기계류의 진동 전반에 걸친 문제점에 대한 그 원인과 현상을 명확히 분석하여 국내의 전기 계류의 보다 신뢰성있는 설계 및 제작자료를 확보하는데 기여할 수 있게 하 였다.존의 small molecular Gd-chelate에 비해 매우 큼을 알 수 있었다. Geoacoustic Model at the YSDP-105 Long-core Site in the Mid-eastern Yellow Sea (황해 중동부 해역 YSDP-105 심부코어 지점의 지음향 모델)

  • In the mid-eastern Yellow Sea, glacio-eustatic sea-level fluctuations and a regional tectonic subsidence have combined to represent an aggradational stacking pattern of sedimentary units during late Pleistocene-Holocene. The accumulated sediments are divisible into two-type units of Type-A and Type-B in high-resolution air-gun seismic profiles and the deep-drilled core of YSDP-105. Type-A unit largely comprises clast-rich coarse-grained sediments of non-marine to paralic origin, whereas Type-B unit consists mostly of tidal fine-grained sediments. Based on a bottom model of the sedimentary units, this study suggested a geoacoustic model of long-coring bottom layers at the YSDP-105 drilling site of the mid-eastern Yellow Sea. The geoacoustic model of 64-m depth below the seafloor with four-layer geoacoustic units was reconstructed in continental shelf strata at 45 m in water depth. For actual modeling, the geoacoustic property values of the models were compensated to in situ depth values below the seafloor using the Hamilton modeling method. We suggest that the geoacoustic model will be used for geoacoustic and underwater acoustic experiments of mid- and low-frequency reflecting on the deep bottom layers in the mid-eastern Yellow Sea.

Removing Contaminants from the Surface of Jagyeongnu of Changgyeonggung Palace, National Treasure No. 229 (국보 제229호 창경궁 자격루 누기 표면에 고착된 오염물 제거 방법 연구)

  • Korea's National Treasure No. 229, the Jagyeongnu (clepsydra) of Changgyeonggung Palace, is a scientific and cultural property representing the pinnacle of science and technology in the Joseon Dynasty. Currently, only the large, mid-sie, and small Pasuhos (bronze jars) remain. During a nearly two-year conservation project by the Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Center (CHCSC) that began in 2018, conservators identified the contaminants on the surface of the water clock's components. It turned out that the contaminants had been caused by the exposure of squalane and silicone oil, used in an earlier preservation treatment, to the elements. The CHCSC conducted experiments to determine the most effective method to remove the contaminants. First, the conservators tried using an organic solvent, a poultice, and the application of toluene and bentonite, which yielded excellent reactivity and significant color difference changes (𝚫E). However, the reactivity was insufficiently effective to warrant the health hazards to the conservators and the environment (toluene is toxic). Although organic solvents required considerably more effort, time, and human resources, the conservators confirmed that their use achieved a true color difference variation (𝚫E) that was within the same range as the toxic hydrocarbon. Thus, they confirmed that using an organic surfactant was the best method for removing the contaminants.
