Characteristics of Brazing of Eyewear Frame Ti Alloy with Electric Resistance (전기저항을 이용한 안경테용 Ti 합금의 땜질 특성)

  • Titanum and its alloys have been used as the important materials of eyewear frame because of its light weight, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. This study investigated the characteristics of P-Ti and ${\beta}$-Ti alloys in accordance with joining conditions by electric resistance brazing. Hardness of P-Ti and ${\beta}$-Ti has been reduced because of an increase of grain size by the growth of brazing time. Hardness reduction and reduction area by grain growth were largely appeared in P-Ti than ${\beta}$-Ti.

  • In this paper, The process of thin-film coating technology was applied to improve adhesion of the hardness thin film and nitride layer. This thin-film coating technology have formed composite thin-film to gain hardness and toughness used in press mold. The thin-film coating manufacturing technology increased vacuum present in the vacuum chamber and improved the throw ratio of the gun power using physical vapor deposition coating technology. Ti alloys target improved performance and surface material through the development of a composite film coating technology for various precision machining parts.

  • 1970년대에 개발된 Ti-15-3 합금은 상온에서 우수한 성형성을 가지고 있어 Ti-6-4 합금보다 성형 공정을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있어 생산비용을 크게 감소시킬 수 있는 장점이 있는 합금이다. 또한, 냉간 성형성이 우수하고 강화 범위가 폭넓기 때문에 항공기의 프레임, 항공기 압력 용기 및 고장력 유압 튜브 등에 많이 사용하고 있으나, 열간 성형성이 Ti-6-4 티타늄 합금보다 좋지 않기 때문에 이제까지의 적용 분야는 판재 성형 등의 한정된 분야에만 적용되어 오고 있는 실정이다.

  • 티타늄 합금은 높은 내부식성, 우수한 피로 수명과 무게비에 비해 높은 강도를 가진다는 우수성으로 인해 항공기 부품과 화학 공업 분야등에 다양하게 사용되고 있다. 이번 연구에서는 Ti-3Al-2.5V 합금 TIG 용접부에 대하여 용접부 인성과 기계적 성질에 영향을 주는 가장 중요한 인자인 용접 입열에 대한 영향을 평가하고자 하였다. 이에 입열조건에 대한 용접부에 대한 강도, 충격 인성과 노치 인성을 평가하였으며 적정 입열 조건에서 강도와 인성이 우수한 용접부를 얻을 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Characteristics for High Frequency Induction Heating of Ti Alloy Groove Wire (안경테용 Ti 합금 홈선의 고주파유도가열처리에 따른 특성 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Titanum and its alloys have been used as the important materials of eyewear frame due to its light weight, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. This study investigates hardness and microstructures of titanum alloy groove wires in according with heating time by high frequency induction heating. Because of increase of grain size by the growth of heating time, hardness of ${\beta}-Ti$ has reduced. Hardness of Ti-325 reduced until 2 sec and rapidly increased at 3 sec by high frequency induction heating. It is observed that hardness of Ti-325 reduces by the increase of the grain size until 2 sec and suddenly increased by the development of the detailed ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ lamella at 3 sec.

Effects of Surface Treatment of Cathode Materials on the Electrodeposition Behavior of Fe-Ni Alloy (표면처리와 전극 재료가 철-니켈 합금 도금에 미치는 영향)

  • In this research, Fe-Ni alloy films were electrodeposited on stainless steel (SS304 and SS430) and Ti plates to investigate the effects of surface conditions of cathode on deposits. The Ti plates were electropolished in 3 M H2SO4-methanol electrolytes at various conditions before electrodeposition, and unpolished Ti and the optimized specimen, polished at 10 V for 8 min, were used as cathode. The anomalous codeposition, the phenomenon which more active Fe is reduced preferentially, occurred on all substrate, however, there were differences in composition of all deposits. As the results of potential monitoring during electrodeposition, it was confirmed that the larger overpotential was applied to the deposition cell when using Ti cathode, leading to high Fe content of deposits from unpolished Ti due to increase in nucleation of Fe. Also, it was founded that the polished Ti can reduced deposition overpotential.

Comparative Study of Design Loads for the Structural Design of Titanium Leisure Boat (티타늄합금 레저보트의 구조설계를 위한 설계하중 비교연구)

  • Recently, people's interest in marine leisure has been increasing, and research and development on leisure boats are actively being carried out to pioneer overseas markets. These days, the materials used for leisure boats are fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) and aluminum alloy. However, FRP is hygroscopic and causes environmental problems, and aluminum alloy has high thermal conductivity and fire susceptibility. Therefore, titanium alloy is being adopted as a material for leisure boats instead. In this study, hull thicknesses and design pressures were calculated while considering dynamic effects for titanium boats. Four sets of rules and regulations were used: ISO 12215-5, RINA Pleasure Yacht, LR Special Service Craft, and KR High-speed Light Craft. The maximum bottom slamming loads were in the order of ISO, KR, LR, and RINA, and the required hull thicknesses were in the same order. This research might be helpful for understanding the rules, regulations, and overseas export of leisure boats.
