Unusual Waveform Detection Algorithm in Arrhythmia ECG Signal (부정맥 심전도 신호에서 특이 파형 검출)

  • In this paper, unusual waveform detection algorithm based on Refractory Period in arrhythmia ECG signal is proposed. Most of arrhythmia ECG signals consist of unusual waveforms with average 10% rate. Thus tremendous benefit can be obtained in terms of time and cost by providing unusual waveform samples reduced more than 90% to medical staffs who have to monitor and analyze for a long time. The proposed algorithm detects the R-peak using the features of R wave and variable refractory period. For the detected R-peak, unusual waveforms are found using means and standard deviation of electric potential and kurtosis of the R-peaks which are not included in unusual waveform. The proposed algorithm was applied to all records of the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database and showed more than average 90% of compression ratio.

Real-Time Monitoring of ECG Signal under Ubiquitous Environment (유비쿼터스 환경 하의 실시간 심전도 신호 모니터링)

  • In this paper, we present a method of transmitting ECG signals in real-time mobile environment to be possible to implement the ubiquitous healthcare system. Because of the excessive amount of data transmission of ECG signals, it is necessary to propose a limitation to the real-time transmission. We propose a real-time electrocardiographic monitoring system based on the proposal of unusual waveform detection algorithm which detects the R-wave distortions from the arrhythmia ECG signals having unusual waveform of about 10% on average. It is very effective in terms of time and cost for medical staffs to monitor and analyze ECG signals for a long period of time. Monitoring unusual waveform by gradually adjusting the threshold values of potential and kurtosis makes the amount of data transmitted decrease and significance level of waveform to be enhanced. The unusual waveform detection algorithm is implemented with ubiquitous environment inter-working device client. It is applicable to ubiquitous healthcare system capable of real-time monitoring the ECG signal. While ensuring the mobility, it allows for real-time continuous monitoring of ECG signals.

Design of Biometrics System Using ECG Lead III Signals (심전도 신호의 리드 III 파형을 이용한 바이오인식)

  • Currently, conventional security methods including IC card or password type method are quickly switched into biometric security systems in various applications and the electrocardiogram (ECG) has been considered as one of novel biometrics way. However, conventional ECG based biometrics used lead II signal which conventionally used for formulaic signal to heart disease diagnosis and it is not suitable for biometrics since it is rather difficult to find consistent features for heart disease patents. To overcome this problem, we developed new biometrics system using ECG lead III signals. For wave extraction, signal peak points are extracted through AAV algorithm. For feature selection, extracted waves are categorized into one of four wave types and total twenty two features including number of vertices, wave shapes, amplitude information and interval information are extracted based on their wave types. Experimental results for thirty-six people showed 100% specificity, 95.59% sensitivity and 99.17% of overall identification accuracy.

Voice Source Estimation Using Robust Sequential SVD (견실 순차 특이치분해를 이용한 음원추정)

  • 본 논문에서는 변화가 심한 음원파형을 추정하는 새로운 순차처리 알고리듬을 제안한다. 먼저, 1) 기존의 순차처리 분석법중 대표적인 분석법인 RLS(recursive least square)의 문제점들을 검토하고, 2) 이를 개선하기 위해서 관측행렬(observation matrix)을 최적차수의 SVD(reduced-rank singular value decomposition)로 재구성하고, 3) 이에 견실개념(robustness concept)을 적용해서 최적의 성도변수(vocal tract parameter)를 찾아내고 역필터를 적용해서 음원(voice source)을 효과적으로 구분해낸다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법으로 음원을 추정할 경우, 변화가 심한 음원파형을 잘 추정할 수 있으며, 음원의 특성을 구분해낸 성도 파라미터도 효과적으로 추정할 수 있다. 본 연구내용은 음성합성에서 자연성 개선 및 개인성 구현을 위해서 필수적이며, 다양한 형태의 음성을 표현하기 위해 사용되어질 수 있다. 또한, 음성코딩, 화자인식, 음성인식에서도 사용되어질 수 있다.

Classification of Epileptic Seizure Signals Using Wavelet Transform and Hilbert Transform (웨이블릿 변환과 힐버트 변환을 이용한 간질 파형 분류)

  • This study proposed new methods to classify normal and epileptic seizure signals from EEG signals using peaks extracted by wavelet transform(WT) and Hilbert transform(HT) based on a neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions(NEWFM). This study has the following three steps for extracting inputs for NEWFM. In the first step, the WT was used to remove noise from EEG signals. In the second step, the HT was used to extract peaks from the wavelet coefficients. We also selected the peaks bigger than the average of peaks to extract big peaks. In the third step, statistical methods were used to extract 16 features used as inputs for NEWFM from peaks. The proposed methodology shows that accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity are 99.25%, 99.4%, 99% with 16 features, respectively. Improvement in feature selection method in view to enhancing the accuracy is planned as the future work for selecting good features from 16 features.

Maximum dV/dt Detection Alaorithm for Photoplethysmography Waveform (광용적맥파 신호 최대 dV/dt 검출 알고리즘 개발)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 광용적맥파 해석에 중요하게 사용되는 최대 상승기울기(maximum dV/dt) 지점 검출 알고리즘 개발로, 미분 및 필터링을 통한 전처리 과정, 극점 검출과정, 역탐색 등의 후처리 과정으로 구성되는 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 총 74,225개의 맥박파형을 사용한 검증을 수행하였으며, 동시에 측정된 심전도 QRS지점을 기준으로 최대 dV/dt 측정 위치 정확성을 판정하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 적응형 임계치 극점 검출 방법과 함께 사용하였을 때, 제안된 알고리즘은 기존 광용적맥파 상단, 하단극점 검출 알고리즘과 유사한 성능인 98.57%, 99.98%의 민감도와 특이도, 0.02%의 오검출율을 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

A Study on Detection Method of Specific Waveform in Distribution Line (배전선로의 특이파형 검출 방법에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this investigation is to detect specific waveforms in a distribution line prior to the occurrence of a fault. Conditions were introduced such that a feeder remote terminal unit (FRTU) of the distribution automation system selects and stores fault waveforms from the different waveforms detected in the distribution line. In addition, an algorithm was developed to detect specific waveforms from the fault waveforms stored using the FRTU. This algorithm exploits the duration and periodicity of harmonic changes in voltage and current. The efficacy of the algorithm was confirmed based on the measurements of fault waveforms in an actual distribution line. The results indicated that faults in a distribution line can be predicted via experimental measurements.

  • 실혈견(失血犬)에 있어서 염산(鹽酸)케타민 전신마취(全身麻醉)가 심전도(心電圖), 뇌파(腦波) 및 혈압(血壓)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)하였던 바 그 성적(成積)은 다음과 같았다. 심전도소견(心電圖所見)에 있어서는 동성빈맥(洞性頻脈)이 지속(持續)되었으나 심장조율(心臟調律)에는 특이(特異)한 변화(變化)가 나타나지 아니 하였다. 그러나 건강견(健康犬)에 있어서 염산(鹽酸)케타민 마취군(麻醉群)과 비교(比較)해서 파형(波形)의 변화(變化)와 S-T분절(分節)의 편위(偏位)가 경미(輕微)하게 있었으며 P-Q와 Q-T 간격(間隔)은 상대적(相對的)으로 다소(多少) 연장(延長) 되었다. 뇌파(腦波)는 건강견(健康犬)에 있어서의 염산(鹽酸)케타민 마취군(麻醉群)과 유사(類似)한 양상(樣相)을 보였으나, 그 진폭(振幅)은 약간 감소(減少)되었다. 혈압(血壓)은 마취후(麻醉後) 약간 하락(下落)되었으나 곧 마취전(麻醉前)으로 회복(恢復)되었으며, 악화(惡化)되지는 아니하였다.

Multi-Frequency Crosswell Seismic Experiment (다중 주파수 송신원에 의한 공대공 탄성파 실험)

  • First arrival signals of multi-frequency crosswell seismic data, acquired in wells drilled in granitic rock, were analyzed to investigate the characteristic behavior of the signals at the shear zones. Dominant frequencies of the sources were; 10-, 20-, 40-, 56-, and 80 kHz. No obvious changes in the waveform at the shear zones were found; however, at the shear zones, some degree of velocity reductions were observed in the signals of all frequency sources. The 80 kHz signal is slightly faster than 10 kHz signal in the survey region, and the velocity difference between the two signals were found largest at the shear zone where the permeability measured greatest in the survey interval.
