Design of DC-DC converter for a logic process MTP memory IPs (로직 공정 기반의 MTP IP용 DC-DC 컨버터 설계)

  • In this paper, a DC-DC converter is designed for logic process MTP (multi-time programmable) memory IPs using dual program voltage, which are used for analog trimming or storing chip IDs in sensor applications. The DC-DC converter supplies VPP (=5.25V), VNN (=-5.25V), and VNNL ($=2{\cdot}VNN/5$). It uses MOS capacitors and designed with only 3,3V devices. VPP and VNN are configured in two and five stages, respectively. And their pumping currents are $9.17{\mu}A$ and $9.7{\mu}A$, respectively.

YOLOv4-based real-time object detection and trimming for dogs' activity analysis (강아지 행동 분석을 위한 YOLOv4 기반의 실시간 객체 탐지 및 트리밍)

  • In a previous work we have done, we presented a monitoring system to automatically detect some dogs' behaviors from videos. However, the input video data used by that system was pre-trimmed to ensure it contained a dog only. In a real-life situation, the monitoring system would continuously receive video data, including frames that are empty and ones that contain people. In this paper, we propose a YOLOv4-based system for automatic object detection and trimming of dog videos. Sequences of frames trimmed from the video data received from the camera are analyzed to detect dogs and people frame by frame using a YOLOv4 model, and then records of the occurrences of dogs and people are generated. The records of each sequence are then analyzed through a rule-based decision tree to classify the sequence, forward it if it contains a dog only or ignore it otherwise. The results of the experiments on long untrimmed videos show that our proposed method manages an excellent detection performance reaching 0.97 in average of precision, recall and f-1 score at a detection rate of approximately 30 fps, guaranteeing with that real-time processing.

Reduction Technology of Bad Quality of Strip Cutting Face in the Side Trimming Process of the Cold Rolling (냉간압연 사이드트리밍공정에서의 스트립 절단면 품질불량 감소기술 개발)

  • It is very important to diagnose state of knife and strip cutting face in real time in the side trimming process due to improvement of quality of trimming face. In this study, diagnosis system for knife and strip cutting face was developed. CCD camera was installed at the both side of strip in the entry of burr masher roll. This system offer to operator the diagnosis result that was analyzed image obtained from CCD camera. As a result, bad quality of trimming face is decreased below 1/10 and knife breakage is detected $100\%$.

  • 본 글은 이동통신용 안테나의 이해를 돕기 위하여 쓰여진 글이다. I장 서론에는 이동통신용 안테나에 대한 개괄적인 설명을 하고 이어서 II장에서는 이동통신용 안테나의 요구조건에 관하여 약술하였으며 III장에서는 이 분야의 소형안테나로서 널리 사용되는 대표적인 형태의 안테나들의 동작원리 및 설계방식에 대하여 논의하였다. 1절과 2절에서는 각각 헬리컬과 루프 안테나에 대하여 교과서적 수준으로 간략하게 설명하였으며 3절과 4절에서는 마이크로스트립 안테나와 평면형 역-F안테나(PIFA)에 대하여 개념적으로 설명하되 대략적인 설계가 가능하도록 하였고 특히 실험적인 트리밍과정의 중요성을 강조하였다. 5절에서는 자동차용 뒷유리 열선 안테나에 관향 경험적인 설계방법을 간단히 살펴보았다. 이어서 IV장에서는 이동통신용 안테나의 흥미로운 일례로서 비행체에서 광범위하게 사용되는 다양한 형태의 안테나에 대하여 간략하게 설명하였으며 V장에서는 이동통신분야에서 앞으로 그 중요성을 더해갈 다이버시티 기술에 관하여 논의하였으며 VI장에서는 이동통신용 소형안테나의 성능평가 및 설계에 도움이 되는 실험과정에 대하여 논의하여 보았다.

Scrambling Technology using Scalable Encryption in SVC (SVC에서 스케일러블 암호화를 이용한 스크램블링 기술)

  • With widespread use of the Internet and improvements in streaming media and compression technology, digital music, video, and image can be distributed instantaneously across the Internet to end-users. However, most conventional Digital Right Management are often not secure and not fast enough to process the vast amount of data generated by the multimedia applications to meet the real-time constraints. The SVC offers temporal, spatial, and SNR scalability to varying network bandwidth and different application needs. Meanwhile, for many multimedia services, security is an important component to restrict unauthorized content access and distribution. This suggests the need for new cryptography system implementations that can operate at SVC. In this paper, we propose a new scrambling encryption for reserving the characteristic of scalability in MPEG4-SVC. In the base layer, the proposed algorithm is applied and performed the selective scambling. And it encrypts various MVS and intra-mode scrambling in the enhancement layer. In the decryption, it decrypts each encrypted layers by using another encrypted keys. Throughout the experimental results, the proposed algorithms have low complexity in encryption and the robustness of communication errors.

Trimming Line Design using Incremental Development Method and Finite Element Inverse Method (점진 전개기법 및 유한요소 역해석법을 이용한 자동차 패널 트리밍 라인 설계)

  • In most of automobile body panel manufacturing, trimming process is generally performed before flanging. To find feasible trimming line is crucial in obtaining accurate edge profile after flanging. Section-based method develops blank along manually chosen section planes and find trimming line by generating loop of end points. This method suffers from inaccurate results of edge profile. On the other hand, simulation-based method can produce more accurate trimming line by iterative strategy. In this study, new fast simulation-based method to find feasible trimming line is proposed. Finite element inverse method is used to analyze the flanging process because final shape after flanging can be explicitly defined and most of strain paths are simple in flanging. In utilizing finite element inverse method, the main obstacle is the initial guess generation for general mesh. Robust initial guess generation method is developed to handle genera] mesh with very different size and undercut. The new method develops final triangular mesh incrementally onto the drawing tool surface. Also in order to remedy mesh distortion during development, energy minimization technique is utilized. Trimming line is extracted from the outer boundary after finite element inverse method simulation. This method has many advantages since trimming line can be obtained in the early design stage. The developed method is verified by shrink/stretch flange forming and successfully applied to the complex industrial applications such as door outer flanging process.

Disturbance Effects on the Stiffness of Normally Consolidated Clay (정규압밀 점성토의 교란에 따른 강성 변화)

  • Laboratory tests are generally used to determine the input parameters for the selected constitutive models controlling various stress and drainage conditions, but have disadvantages in that the tests are performed on the samples obtained from the bore hole which are prone to be disturbed by various factors such as the tube penetrations, sample preparations and storage. To overcome these disadvantages, it is necessary to understand the effect of disturbance on the stiffness of the sample, especially the normally consolidated clays which are generally considered as soft clays. Therefore, in this study triaxial tests are performed on the normally consolidated kaolinite to evaluate the sample disturbance effects on the stiffness and to determine the field representative input parameters. The stress path results show that the shear and coupling modulus degradation patterns with strain are affected seriously by the disturbance. However, the strengths of the normally consolidated kaolinite are little influenced by the disturbance.

Design of Digital Calibration Circuit of Silicon Pressure Sensors (실리콘 압력 센서의 디지털 보정 회로의 설계)

  • We designed a silicon pressure sensor interface circuit with digital calibration capability. The interface circuit is composed of an analog section and a digital section. The analog section amplifies the weak signal from the sensor and the digital section handles the calibration function and communication function between the chip and outside microcontroller that controls the calibration. The digital section is composed of I2C serial interface, memory, trimming register and controller. The I2C serial interface is optimized to suit the need of on-chip silicon microsensor in terms of number of IO pins and silicon area. The major part of the design is to build a controller circuit that implements the optimized I2C protocol. The designed chip was fabricated through IDEC's MPW. We also made a test board and the test result showed that the chip performs the digital calibration function very well as expected.

  • PMIC chips based on a BCD process used in automotive semiconductors require multi-time programmable (MTP) intellectual property (IP) that does not require additional masks to trim analog circuits. In this paper, MTP cell size was reduced by about 18.4% by using MTP cells using PMOS capacitors (PCAPs) instead of NMOS capacitors (NCAPs) in MTP cells, which are single poly EEPROM cells with two transistors and one MOS capacitor for small-area MTP IP design. In addition, from the perspective of MTP IP circuit design, the two-stage voltage shifter circuit is applied to the CG drive circuit and TG drive circuit of MTP IP design, and in order to reduce the area of the DC-DC converter circuit, the VPP (=7.75V), VNN (=-7.75V) and VNNL (=-2.5V) charge pump circuits using the charge pumping method are placed separately for each charge pump.

  • This study propose a new approach to control the optimal working path of vertical type articulated robot with translation joint for trimming working process automation in forging manufacturing process. The basic structure of the proposed robotic joints controller consists of a Proportional-Intergral controller and a Proportional-Derivative controller in parallel. The proposed control scheme takes advantage of the properties of the fuzzy PID controllers. The proposed method is suitable to control of the trajectory and path control in cartesian space for vertical type articulated robot manipulator. The results illustrates that the proposed fuzzy computed torque controller is more stable and robust than the conventional computed torque controller. The reliability is varified by simulation test for vertical type s articulated robot with seven joints including one trqanslation joint.
