Internal Antenna Design for GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900 Using an Overlap of Return Loss (반사 손실 합성법을 이용한 GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900 내장형 안테나 설계)

  • This paper proposes the design scheme of internal triple band antenna intended for using in GSM900, DCS1800, and PCS1900 bands. The suggested folding metal plates of the two branches are mounted on a dielectric coated ground plane for size miniaturization and durability. Return losses are overlapped when length of metal branches are controlled. This is important technique for wide band operation. For the suggested antenna geometry its return loss was calculated by HFSS 9 simulator, and was shown to be -10 [dB] less within the required band. Also, gain and radiation pattern of antenna were measured using far field measurement system in an anechoic chamber. The measured peak gain is more than 3.0 [dBi], and the average gain is over -1.0 [dBi] for the triple band, which is regarded as satisfactory for the internal antenna application. Also, the radiation pattern for two frequencies shows a similar shape each other within the required band.

  • A C-to-SystemC synthesizer which processes the input behavior according to high-level synthesis, and then transforms the synthesis result into SystemC module code is implemented in this paper. In the synthesis process, the input behavioral description in C source code is scheduled using list scheduling algorithm and register allocation is performed using left-edge algorithm on the result of scheduling. In the SystemC process, the output from high-level synthesis process is transformed into SystemC module code by combining it with SystemC features such as channels and ports. The operation of the implemented C-to-SystemC synthesizer is validated through simulating the synthesis of elliptic wave filter in SystemC code. C-to-SystemC synthesizer can be used as a part of tool-chain which helps to implement SystemC design methodology covering from modeling to synthesis.

  • 농업 유전공학 기술은 생산성 향상, 환경보전, 식품의 안정성 및 품질향상에 기여함은 물론 농업의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는 유일한 대안으로 인식되고 있다. 전 세계적으로 유전자 재조합 작물의 경작지는 2000년 한해동안 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 11% 증가하였으며 이는 1996년 대비 25배 증가하였고, 선진국과 개발도상국은 각각 2%, 51% 1999년 대비 증가하였다. 1983년 유전자 재조합에 의한 식물의 형질전환이 성공한 뒤 종묘업계는 형질전환 종자개발과 보급에 열중하고 있으며 종자시장에 형질전화 품종이 차지하는 비율은 2000년 30억 달러에서 2010년이면 전체의 60%인 200억 달러에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 1995년 제초제 저항성 콩(라운드업레디콩)이 농가에 보급된 이후 2000년 형질전환품종 재배면적이 3990만 ha에 이르렀고 1997년 미국과 캐나다는 옥수수, 대두, 면화, 감자, 유채 등의 형질전환 품종 재배로 각각 3억1400만 달러, 5300만 달러를 벌어들였음. 형질전환 품종의 보급 증가속도는 소비자들의 GMO에 대한 거부반응으로 다소 주춤한 상태이다. 그러나 최근 종자회사들은 생태계 위해성 논란을 피해갈 수 있는 연구로 이러한 상황을 돌파하려 하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 유전자변형 생물체에 관한 법률이 제정되었으며 많은 대학과 연구소에서 형질전환 연구가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있고 최근 제초제 저항성 벼와 바이러스 저항성 감자가 개발돼 GMO 안정성 점검에 들어가 있고, 살충성 배추, 혈압강하 토마토, 지방산 강화 들깨, 병저항성 고추 등도 실험실과 포장에서 재배되고 있다. 이르면 4-5년 뒤 형질전환 작물들이 농가에 보급될 전망이다. 이처럼 체크 툴은 Firewall의 수비능력을 보강하는 위치에 있다고 생각할 수 있다.다. 4 장에서는 3장에서 제기한 각각의 문제점에 대해 RAD 의 관점에 비추어 e-business 시스템의 단기개발을 실현하기 위한 고려사항이나 조건 해결책을 제안한다. 본 논문이 지금부터 e-business 를 시작하려고 하는 분, e-business 시스템의 개발을 시작하려고 하는 분께 단기간의 e-business 실현을 위한 하나의 지침이 된다면 다행이겠다.formable template is used to optimize the matching.   • This paper describes an automatic mesh generation system for finite element analysis of three-dimensional cracks. It is consisting of fuzzy knowledge processing, bubble meshing and solid geometry modeler. This novel mesh generation process consists of three sub-processes: (a) definition of geometric model, i.e. analysis model, (b) generation of bubbles, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional crack structures. Bubble is generated if its distance from existing bubble points is similar to the bubble spacing function at the point. The bubble spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Delaunay method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for 3D cracks.

Modeling and Controller Design for Attitude Control of a Moving Satellite (이동하는 위성의 자세제어를 위한 모델링 및 제어기 설계)

  • Because the previous simulation tool for attitude control of satellite was designed for the modeling of rigid body and PD controller, the attitude error can be made more than the limitation value for keeping for communication link, and then the communication link can be lost at moving of satellite. So, for rapid attitude restoration and design of stable and modernized controller, the modelling of rigid body and flexible body structure for moving GEO and LEO satellites were performed. Also the minimum time controller is designed for the rapid restoration of attitude error at communication broken and to minimize the disconnection period from ground communication system during the satellite stationkeeping. The linear regulator is designed using the space state vector that is better than accuracy and stability of PD controller. Firstly the simulation was performed for comparison of the rigid and stability of PD controller. Firstly the simulation was performed for comparison of the rigid and flexible models using PD controller and the case of the pitch angle changing by ground command, and the case of the periodic north-south stationkeeping are performed for the analysis of response characteristics of each controller when the attitude is changed. As a result, the flexible body model represents more sililar results of real situation than the rigid body model. The minimum time controller can restore 7 times rapidly than PD controller for its lost attitude. The linear regulator has several merits for capability of adaptation against the external disturbance, stability and response time. In future, we can check the estimated results using this satellite model and controller for real operation. Futhermore the development of new controller and training can be supported.

  • According to the worldwide efforts to reduce greenhouse gases consequent upon climatic change, the field of road traffic is also making diverse efforts to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases. Among these, the exhaust gases from vehicles, the so-called main culprit of the greenhouse gases will take place the more as delay and tie-up of vehicles ever take place. Accordingly, as a scheme for reducing the delay & tie-up of vehicles, it's possible to bring up the idea of supply of new facilities and management of the existing facilities; recently, a lot more focus is being put on the management of the existing facilities due to enormous amounts of construction cost. In the midst of growing concern for traffic demand management policy, it's about the time we should do research on the tollbooth metering on the expressway whose research is almost non-existent home and abroad. As a traffic demand management policy coming to happen in case of the management of pay expressway like Japan and Korea, this research analyzed the contents of tollbooth metering, its effect and its subsequent convenience. Especially as a tool for effect analysis, this research made an analysis using VISSIM-a micro-simulation tool. As the tollbooth metering promoted, as a part of green traffic promotion strategy, is expected to contribute to improvement in traffic flow and reduction in carbon emissions, etc. It seems that there needs to be continuous research work on the management plan & revitalization plan for maximization of its effect later as well.

A Study on Intelligent Value Chain Network System based on Firms' Information (기업정보 기반 지능형 밸류체인 네트워크 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • Until recently, as we recognize the significance of sustainable growth and competitiveness of small-and-medium sized enterprises (SMEs), governmental support for tangible resources such as R&D, manpower, funds, etc. has been mainly provided. However, it is also true that the inefficiency of support systems such as underestimated or redundant support has been raised because there exist conflicting policies in terms of appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of business support. From the perspective of the government or a company, we believe that due to limited resources of SMEs technology development and capacity enhancement through collaboration with external sources is the basis for creating competitive advantage for companies, and also emphasize value creation activities for it. This is why value chain network analysis is necessary in order to analyze inter-company deal relationships from a series of value chains and visualize results through establishing knowledge ecosystems at the corporate level. There exist Technology Opportunity Discovery (TOD) system that provides information on relevant products or technology status of companies with patents through retrievals over patent, product, or company name, CRETOP and KISLINE which both allow to view company (financial) information and credit information, but there exists no online system that provides a list of similar (competitive) companies based on the analysis of value chain network or information on potential clients or demanders that can have business deals in future. Therefore, we focus on the "Value Chain Network System (VCNS)", a support partner for planning the corporate business strategy developed and managed by KISTI, and investigate the types of embedded network-based analysis modules, databases (D/Bs) to support them, and how to utilize the system efficiently. Further we explore the function of network visualization in intelligent value chain analysis system which becomes the core information to understand industrial structure ystem and to develop a company's new product development. In order for a company to have the competitive superiority over other companies, it is necessary to identify who are the competitors with patents or products currently being produced, and searching for similar companies or competitors by each type of industry is the key to securing competitiveness in the commercialization of the target company. In addition, transaction information, which becomes business activity between companies, plays an important role in providing information regarding potential customers when both parties enter similar fields together. Identifying a competitor at the enterprise or industry level by using a network map based on such inter-company sales information can be implemented as a core module of value chain analysis. The Value Chain Network System (VCNS) combines the concepts of value chain and industrial structure analysis with corporate information simply collected to date, so that it can grasp not only the market competition situation of individual companies but also the value chain relationship of a specific industry. Especially, it can be useful as an information analysis tool at the corporate level such as identification of industry structure, identification of competitor trends, analysis of competitors, locating suppliers (sellers) and demanders (buyers), industry trends by item, finding promising items, finding new entrants, finding core companies and items by value chain, and recognizing the patents with corresponding companies, etc. In addition, based on the objectivity and reliability of the analysis results from transaction deals information and financial data, it is expected that value chain network system will be utilized for various purposes such as information support for business evaluation, R&D decision support and mid-term or short-term demand forecasting, in particular to more than 15,000 member companies in Korea, employees in R&D service sectors government-funded research institutes and public organizations. In order to strengthen business competitiveness of companies, technology, patent and market information have been provided so far mainly by government agencies and private research-and-development service companies. This service has been presented in frames of patent analysis (mainly for rating, quantitative analysis) or market analysis (for market prediction and demand forecasting based on market reports). However, there was a limitation to solving the lack of information, which is one of the difficulties that firms in Korea often face in the stage of commercialization. In particular, it is much more difficult to obtain information about competitors and potential candidates. In this study, the real-time value chain analysis and visualization service module based on the proposed network map and the data in hands is compared with the expected market share, estimated sales volume, contact information (which implies potential suppliers for raw material / parts, and potential demanders for complete products / modules). In future research, we intend to carry out the in-depth research for further investigating the indices of competitive factors through participation of research subjects and newly developing competitive indices for competitors or substitute items, and to additively promoting with data mining techniques and algorithms for improving the performance of VCNS.

Timing Driven Analytic Placement for FPGAs (타이밍 구동 FPGA 분석적 배치)

  • Practical models for FPGA architectures which include performance- and/or density-enhancing components such as carry chains, wide function multiplexers, and memory/multiplier blocks are being applied to academic FPGA placement tools which used to rely on simple imaginary models. Previously the techniques such as pre-packing and multi-layer density analysis are proposed to remedy issues related to such practical models, and the wire length is effectively minimized during initial analytic placement. Since timing should be optimized rather than wire length, most previous work takes into account the timing constraints. However, instead of the initial analytic placement, the timing-driven techniques are mostly applied to subsequent steps such as placement legalization and iterative improvement. This paper incorporates the timing driven techniques, which check if the placement meets the timing constraints given in the standard SDC format, and minimize the detected violations, with the existing analytic placer which implements pre-packing and multi-layer density analysis. First of all, a static timing analyzer has been used to check the timing of the wire-length minimized placement results. In order to minimize the detected violations, a function to minimize the largest arrival time at end points is added to the objective function of the analytic placer. Since each clock has a different period, the function is proposed to be evaluated for each clock, and added to the objective function. Since this function can unnecessarily reduce the unviolated paths, a new function which calculates and minimizes the largest negative slack at end points is also proposed, and compared. Since the existing legalization which is non-timing driven is used before the timing analysis, any improvement on timing is entirely due to the functions added to the objective function. The experiments on twelve industrial examples show that the minimum arrival time function improves the worst negative slack by 15% on average whereas the minimum worst negative slack function improves the negative slacks by additional 6% on average.

Analysis of traction and power requirement for forage harvester (조사료 수확기의 견인력 및 소요동력 분석)

  • 국내에서 대부분 생산되는 사료(사일리지) 수확 작업은 베일 생산 및 비닐 래핑 작업이 독립적으로 수행되고 있어서 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 조사료 수확기는 수집, 롤링, 베일 네트 생성, 래핑, 래핑 종료 및 베일 방출작업을 통합적으로 수행하도록 설계-제작하였다. 통합형 다목적 조사료수확기의 설계는 3D 디자인 툴 (CATIA V5R18)을 이용하여 실시하였으며, 기구부 23 파트 어셈블리, 전기제어 어셈블리, 유압요소기술을 통합하여 통합시작기를 제작하였다. 기초 프레임, 오거장치파트, 픽업장치파트, 하부롤러파트, 상부롤러파트, 하부 프레임 및 주행부 파트, 래핑회전파트, 롤러부 구동 동력부, 유압파트, 전기제어파트, 드로우바파트, 체결 및 컨트롤러 파트 등 25개 파트로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시작기의 견인력 및 소요동력 분석은 선행 연구에서 사용한 Brixius (1987) 제안 모델을 체택하여 분석하였다. 이 Brixius 제안 모델은 견인력 예측에서 토양변수 및 토양강도 특성을 나타내는 원추지수 (Cone Index, CI)를 이용하여 트랙터의 견인력 예측에 사용하였다. 또한 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 소요 견인력을 예측하는데 있어, 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템이 운용되는 토양조건과 트랙터의 마력에 따른 소요 견인력 특성을 분석하기 위해 대표적으로 3수준의 토양조건 (CI: 356 kPa, 543 kPa, 1,429 kPa)을 적용하였으며, 베일의 개당 최대무게는 최고 수준인 옥수수 기준으로 800 kgf를 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 적용된 3수준의 CI 조건은 연구팀에서 선행연구과정 (토양특성에 따른 최적 경운작업 시스템 개발, 2006)에서 분석한 전국 10개 지역의 33개 지점의 경반층 CI지수의 측정범위인 1,050-3,170 kPa에 대해 견인력이 많이 소요되는 열악한 조건 수준을 적용하였다. 각 작업에 사용된 소요동력은 베일 작업시 (ASABE D497.7, 2011) 그리고 래핑작업시 (Zhortuylov et al., 2013)를 사용하였으며 두 소요마력을 트랙터-조사료 수확기 시스템의 필요 소요마력의 합계로 계산하였다. 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 최소 소요 동력, 차축 소요 동력과 PTO 소요 동력을 Zoz and Grisso (2003)을 이용하여 계산하였다. 연구에서는 기본적으로 ASAE의 작업속도 및 작업효율을 적용하였는데, 적용된 조사료수확기의 현장 작업효율은 60-86%의 범위이고 일반적으로 70%를 적용하고 이때 작업속도는 2.5-8.0 km/h이며 전형적으로 5.0 km/h를 기준하고 있다. 자주식 (SP; sief-propelled machine) 조사료수확기의 경우 작업속도가 2.5-10.0 km/h의 범위에서 작업효율은 60-85% 범위이다. 적용되는 조사료 수확기의 작업효율인 60-85% 범위에서 일반적으로 적용되는 작업효율인 70%를 적용하면 트랙터의 소요동력은 95hp를 적정 작업환경으로 하였다.

Sequential Involvement of Distinct Portions of the Medial Prefrontal Cortex in Different Stages of Decision Making Using the Iowa Gambling Task (갬블링 과제를사용한 의사결정 과정에서 중앙 전전두엽의 영역별 활성화에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose : Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to assess the temporal response of neural activation in healthy subjects while they performed the Iowa Gambling Test (IGT), which utilizes decisions involving ambiguity and risk. The IGT was divided into five blocks of 20 trials; analysis showed that activity in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) moves gradually from the dorsal to the ventral mPFC over the course of the IGT. These findings suggest that cognitive division of the mPFC, including the dorsal portion of the anterior cingulated cortex (ACC), plays a major role in ambiguous decision making and that the aspect of the IGT corresponding to risky decision making is associated with significant activity within the corticolimbic network strongly implicated in emotion and reinforcement. Our results also suggest that decisions made under ambiguity and decisions made under risk situations can be further divided into sub-phases based on the neural network involved.
