All countries of the world have been spurring foreign direct investment consistently for securing of economic growth and growth engines, and Korea is no exception. Korea has been stimulating investment of high quality through various political support and the government has been publicizing it as an achievement. Based on the most of previous studies analyzed the results of foreign direct investment only on the view of domestic economy, this study supposes that foreign direct investment influences positively on management and innovation performance on companies, and evaluated effects of foreign direct investment by using Propensity score matching method. Analysis shows that foreign direct investment has positive influence on management and innovation performance before matching them. However, after matching them, the most statistical significance disappears. Consequently, foreign direct investment has limited effect on company's performance comparison on initial assumption. 'This study indicates that incentive policy of foreign direct investment would need to be amended, because effect of incentive policy was limited for firm's performance.

This study provides an empirical analysis based on 2012 Korea Innovation Survey (STEPI) to investigate the relation between R&D cooperation and in-house R&D investment. The study further analyzes the effect of the R&D cooperation and in-house R&D investment on technical innovation. First, the relation between company's in-house R&D investment and R&D cooperations is estimated with the two equations using SUR models. Second, the effect of in-house R&D investment and R&D cooperation on the company's technical innovation is estimated using Probit model. This study differs from other existing R&D studies using Korean data in that empirical models are based on structural relationships among in-house R&D, R&D cooperation, and technical innovation. The results can be summarized as follows; the R&D cooperation expands the in-house R&D investment and the in-house R&D strengthen the R&D cooperation. Furthermore, In-house R&D investment increases the chances of success in innovation. As we obtain evidence of complementary relation between R&D cooperation and in-house R&D investment, it is necessary to develop environment conducive to this complementarity in order to have more efficient R&D system.

본 논문에서는 해양 및 수산 분야의 투자용 기술력평가모형 개발을 위하여 민간 VC투자 활성화를 위한 평가기법 선행조사를 수행하며, 국내 관련 전문기관 등의 기술투자 관련 기술력평가 모형개발과 활용수준 등을 조사하고, 해외 관련 전문기관의 기술평가모형 현황에 대한 조사·분석을 수행하였다. 또한 투자용 기술력평가 모형의 용도와 방향 설정을 위하여 국내 기술투자 관련 전문가 그룹을 활용하여 기술공급자와 수요자 관점에서의 견해를 반영한 투자모형의 용도와 방향설정을 제시하였다. 결과적으로 기술투자 목적의 평가요인을 도출하고, 기술투자자 입장의 평가결과 유효성 검증을 통해 평가결과의 실무적 활용성을 제고시키고자 한다. 기술보증기금에서 개발한 기존의 투자용 기술력평가 모형이 많은 타 기관에 파급되어 운영되고 있지만, 활용수준이 미미한 점을 검토하여 VC의 투자의사결정 요소에 관한 연구결과를 기반으로 해양수산분야 투자용 기술력평가 신규모형을 설계하였다.

창업기업의 성과는 창업가 개인의 역량 뿐 만 아니라 네트워크 등 기업가 정신이 발현되는 모든 영역의 요소들이 작용한다. 재무적 자원에서부터 기업의 기능별 역량과 자원에 이르기까지 충분하지 않은 창업기업들은 전략적으로 기업이나 대학과 같은 외부 주체들과의 제휴를 추진하여 성과향상을 의도할 수 있다. 전략적 제휴와 기업 성과 간의 관계는 전략경영분야에서 오랫동안 다루어져 온 연구 주제였다. 다만, 창업기업이라는 한정된 역량과 자원 상황에서 창업 기업이 실제로 이러한 전략적 제휴를 통해 재무성과를 향상시키는지에 대한 연구는 미흡하였다. 이에 본 연구는 창업기업의 전략적 제휴가 재무성과에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 그러한 관계에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 혁신역량 강화활동으로서 R&D투자와 교육훈련 투자의 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 또한, 창업기업이 보유한 인적 여유자원(slack resource)의 역할도 함께 규명하여 창업기업의 전략적 제휴와 관련한 행동적 특성을 논의하고자 한다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 기업이 전략적 제휴를 통해 보다 나은 성과향상을 위한 투자로서 다양한 혁신역량 강화활동 필요성에 대한 시사점을 제시할 것으로 기대한다.

지난 50년간 정부의 기초연구 투자는 과학기술 경쟁력 배양 및 국가 선성장 동력을 확보하여 선진국으로 도약하기 위한 중요한 국가 전략 중 하나로 강조되어 왔다. 문재인 정부는 국정운영 5개년 계획을 통해 연구자 주도 기초연구지원을 강조하는 등 정부의 기초연구 투자확대 기조는 현 정부에서도 계속될 전망이다. 순수 기초연구비 2배 확대, 연구자 주도형 자유공모과제 비율 2배 확대 등의 기초연구분야 투자의 양적인 성장과 더불어 절적인 성장을 위한 체계적인 투자 전략이 필요한 시점이다. 이를 위해 기초연구 투자에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구가 선행될 팔요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 1999년부터 2016년까지의 정부R&D투자, 연구원 수, 물가, GDP 등의 요인의 상관관계 분석을 통해 각 요인이 정부 기초연구투자에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 이는 향후 정부 R&D투자 전략의 수립에 활용될 수 있다.

This study conducted an empirical analysis of whether the accelerator incubation program (mentoring, seed investment) and entrepreneur self-efficacy affect competitive advantage performance for start-up representatives who have experienced the accelerator incubation program. At this time, the mediating effect of innovation capability was also examined. As for sample collection, 334 samples collected from representatives of start-ups nurtured by national accelerators and regional centers for creative economy and innovation in Korea were tested using the Smart PLS 4.0 program, and the analysis results are as follows. First, mentoring has no significant effect on competitive advantage performance, whereas seed investment and entrepreneur self-efficacy have a positive (+) effect on competitive advantage performance. Second, mentoring, seed investment, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy have a positive (+) effect on innovation capability. Third, innovation capability has a positive (+) effect on competitive advantage performance. And fourth, it was confirmed that innovation competency has a positive (+) effect between mentoring, seed investment, entrepreneurship self-efficacy and competitive advantage, and has a mediating effect. As a result, while mentoring did not have a direct significant effect on competitive advantage performance, it was confirmed that there was a significant effect mediated by innovation capability. Seed investment, entrepreneur self-efficacy, and innovation capability directly helped competitive advantage performance, and it was confirmed that innovation capability has an effect on the competitive advantage performance as a mediating effect. It is expected that this study will be able to suggest a direction that can help start-ups improve their competitive advantage performance.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of economic uncertainty on business innovation. To this end, Ahir et al. (2018) World Uncertainty Index (WUI) is selected as a proxy for economic uncertainty, while total R&D investment (RD), capitalized R&D investment (RD_A), expensed R&D investment (RD_E), and the proportion of capitalized R&D investment to total R&D investment (RD_R) are selected as variables representing business innovation. The research findings showed that economic uncertainty (WUI) had a statistically significant positive (+) relationship with total research and development investment (RD), asset-based research and development investment (RD_A), and the proportion of asset-based research and development investment (RD_R). This relationship remained the same even after controlling for managerial opportunistic accounting behavior (DACC; discretionary accruals). These findings suggest that companies focus on research and development investment as an opportunity for management innovation even in the face of economic uncertainty. The results of this study are significant in demonstrating the validity and effectiveness of government support for industrial promotion under economic uncertainty.

정부는 R&D 재원의 전략적인 투자를 위해 199년에 국가과학기술위원회를 설치한 이후, R&D 예산 배분 조정을 지속적으로 추진하면서 개별 사업에 대한 예산조정 이전에 투자우선순위를 설정하였다. 그러나 그간의 투자우선순위 설정은 중장기 투자전략, 기본계획 등을 근거로 하기 때문에 중점적으로 투자해야 할 기술분야에 대해 정성적인 언급에만 머무를 수밖에 없고, 현재 연구트렌드를 반영하기 어려위 실제 R&D 예산 배분 시 구체적인 연계성이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 나노분야 R&D를 중심으로 키워드를 활용한 트렌드 분석을 통해 정부 R&D 예산 배분의 전략성을 제고할 수 있으며, 사업의 투자규모를 설정하는데 있어 투자우선순위와의 연관도를 높이는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Technological innovations is a main source of competitive advantage and at the same time, it needs great investment to achieve it. So in the back of many successful firms, always there is great technological innovation and much investment to achieve it. But investment in technological innovation does not always give good performance. In this paper according to the technological innovation model presented by Abernathy and Utterback(1975), the relationship between technological innovation and manufacturing strategy/ manufcaturing activity is testified by domestic firms empirically. The ultimate purpose of this paper is to prepare for basement of normative research on technological innovation to improve firm performance.
