The research of Automatic Classification of Products Using Smart Plug by Artificial Intelligence Technique (인공지능 기법으로 스마트 플러그를 이용한 제품 자동분류에 관한 연구)

  • The Smart plug is a device that connects between the outlet and the product at home, and it is an IoT type device that can drive energy saving and transmit information to the outside by power on / off control function and power measurement function. In this case, a smart plug that incorporates deep learning of intelligence technology that allows people to learn how to think about a computer, automatically classifies a product as it operates, and automatically tests the operating status of the washing machine by using input AC current pattern. Through this study, even if the product does not function as IoT, it can classify product type and operation state by smart plug connection alone, so we can draw a new paradigm of life pattern and energy saving in one family.

The Tool Coordinate Adjustment Algorithm for Robot Manipulators with Visual Sensor (시각 센서에 의한 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 툴 좌표계 보정에 관한 연구)

  • Recently many robot manipulators are used for various areas of industriesand factories. It has been frequently observed that the robot manipulator fails to complete the function when the object changes its original position, Due to the unexpected impacts and vibrations the center and direction of the object would be shifted in many real application. In this study, a visual sensing algorithm for the robot manipulator is proposed. The algorithm consists of two parts : Detection of the object migration and adjustments of the orobot manipulators Tool Coordinate System. The image filtering technique with visual sensor is applied for the first part of the algorithm. The change of illumination intensity indicates the object migration. Once the object migration is detected, the second part of the algorithm calculates the current position of the object. Then it adjusts the robot manipulators Tool Coordinate System. The robot manipulator and the Visual sensor communicate each other using interrupt technique via proposed algorithm. It has been observed that the proposed algorithm reduces the malfunction of a robot manipulator significantly. Thus it can provide better line balance-up of the manufacturing processes and prevent industrial accidents efficiently.

Perception-Based Tone Mapping Technique for Rendering HDR Image Using Histogram Modification (히스토그램 변형을 이용한 HDR 영상 렌더링을 위한 인지기반 톤 맵핑 기법)

  • In this paper, we present a perception-based tone mapping technique using histogram modification for displaying high dynamic range image. HDR (high dynamic range) tone mapping algorithms are used to display HDR image on LDR (low dynamic rnage) devices. Although perception-based tone mapping methods provides better performance, it dose not always produce good results for a wide variety of images. The proposed method reduces dynamic range by using the perception-based tone mapping function and histogram modification. A derivative of perception-based tone mapping function is used as constraint function of histogram and additional compensation process is performed. This method not only improves contrast by adopting different constraints on each pixel value, but also preserves more visual details. In order to prevent over enhancement, histogram modification technique is applied. Furthermore, it can control the rate of image contrast using control parameters. Subjective and objective evaluations show that proposed algorithm is better than existing algorithms.

The Safety Equipment for Small-Size Vessel (소형 선박용 안전장치)

  • These days as there are a growing vessel volume in the costal area, the marine accidents has being increased. IMO recommend that all vessels have to be equipped with the safety equipments mandatorily for the safety navigation. Almost medium and large size vessels are equipped with the safety navigational equipments, But many small size vessels are not equipped with those ones because of its owner's financial hardship or indifference. So for the safety of small size vessels in the coastal area, the marine accidents such as stranding, sinking, collision, and so on, have to be protected in advance or the occurred accidents has to be treated quickly. In this paper, the safety equipment for small size vessels having these functions has been developed. This equipment can guarantee the safety of small size vessels in defenseless state considerably by displaying these states in seamen's Smart phone or the cheap dedicated terminal and also informing the control center and nearby other vessels of these states.

  • With the development of the intelligent Internet of Things AIoT that goes beyond the IoT of the Internet of Things, the industry is changing overall. In addition, with the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, revolutionary changes and developments are also taking place in the automobile industry. A representative example is "autonomous driving vehicle". Because the domestic and foreign interests in autonomous vehicles have increased, many developments have been made, and although limited, they have developed into the commercialization stage. However, the structure of the autonomous vehicle that collects, analyzes, and controls data using various sensors installed in the vehicle, not the driver, is often insufficiently exposed to hacking due to the lack of multiplexed devices for security. In this case, as this can be a threat not only to the driver, but also to the surrounding environment, this paper proposes a new data processing function to improve the system security of autonomous vehicles.

  • Industrial HMI(Human Machine Interface) system is the main element among the factory automation processes and have been used to monitor and control operation and status of machine in factory with PLC. This HMI often brings heavy loads to the system development and difficult decreasing the system because it tends to use a specific system per each manufacturer. Therefore, in this thesis, we have developed an embedded linux-based embedded industrial HMI software modules which can be used for touch panel embedded system to solve these problem. In this module, we have used the Qt/Embedded software component because it can be used by all systems which support C++ compiler without modifying the existing codes. We can design more flexible system and network configuration because we have used the wireless communication module. In this thesis, we implement linux-based HMI software modules which are capable of wireless communication as well as bringing the mobility to the overall system and finally decreasing the system development loads by using the general purpose OS with competitive price.

  • Technology that can determine the location of individuals is required in a variety of applications such as location based control, a personalized advertising. Missing-child prevention and support for field trips, and applications such as push events based on the user's location is endless. In particular, the technology that can determine the location without interruption in the indoor and outdoor spaces have been studied a lot recently. Because emphasizing on accuracy of the positioning, many conventional research have constraints such as using of additional sensing devices or special mounting devices. The algorithm proposed in this paper has the purpose of performing the positioning only with standard equipment of the smart phone that has the most users. In this paper, sensor Fusion with GPS, WiFi Radio Map, Accelerometer sensor and Particle Filter algorithm is designed and implemented. Experimental results of this algorithm shows superior performance than the other compared algorithm. This could confirm the possibility of using proposed algorithm on actual environment.

  • In this paper study for VSAT(very small aperture terminal) LNB(low noise block). ship LNB was demanded high stability and low noise figure. We designed FEM(Front-End Module) that was operated multi-band. FEM designed was constructed in a multi-band low noise receiver amplifier, a frequency converter, IF amplifier, Voltage Control Oscillator signal generating circuit four circuit using. To convert the multi-band 2.05GHz band, it generates four local oscillator signals, the four(band1, band2, band3, band4) designed to output an IF signal developed conversion apparatus, the conversion gain 64dB, noise figure 1dB or less, output P1dB 15dBm or more, phase noise showed -73dBc@100Hz.

  • Korean power consumption of the electrical supply problems due to excess demand is repeated every year, the interest in energy increasing social and personal cost has been subject to the number of ways to reduce this cost increases. Automatic doors and automatic door installation market is increasing every year and frequently, when used in general commercial and communal porch consumption based on average 300 times a day power is 70[W] degree is a monthly average usage is about 50.4[KW]. The level can not ignore the power consumption due to switching frequency is large. In this paper, by converting the energy to be discarded in the automatic doors to the inverter and the regenerative energy and to develop control systems for power regeneration to reduce the power consumption by utilizing automatic contact auxiliary power.

A Parallel Processing System for Visual Media Applications (시각매체를 위한 병렬처리 시스템)

  • Visual media(image, graphic, and video) processing poses challenge from several perpectives, specifically from the point of view of real-time implementation and scalability. There have been several approaches to obtain speedups to meet the computing demands in multimedia processing ranging from media processors to special purpose implementations. A variety of parallel processing strategies are adopted in these implementations in order to achieve the required speedups. We have investigated a parallel processing system for improving the processing speed o f visual media related applications. The parallel processing system we proposed is similar to a pipelined memory stystem(MAMS). The multi-access memory system is made up of m memory modules and a memory controller to perform parallel memory access with a variety of combinations of 1${\times}$pq, pq${\times}$1, and p${\times}$q subarray, which improves both cost and complexity of control. Facial recognition, Phong shading, and automatic segmentation of moving object in image sequences are some that have been applied to the parallel processing system and resulted in faithful processing speed. This paper describes the parallel processing systems for the speedup and its utilization to three time-consuming applications.
