A large suite of official statistical data sets has been compiled for geographical units under the national directives, and it is the quantitative regional analysis procedures that could add values to them. This paper reports our attempts at prototyping a statistical GIS which is capable of serving over the Web a variety of regional analysis routines as well as value-added statistics and maps. A pilot database of some major statistical data was ingested for the city of Seoul. The baseline subset of regional analysis methods of practical usage was selected and accommodated into the business logic of the target system, which ranges from descriptive statistics, regional structure/inequality measures, spatial ANOVA, spatial (auto) correlation to regression and residual analysis. The leading-edge information technologies including the application server were adopted in the system design and implementation so that the database, analysis modules and analytic mapping components may cooperate seamlessly behind the Web front-end. The prototyped system supports tables, maps, and files of downloadable format for input and output of the analyses. One of the most salient features of out proposed system is that both the database and analysis modules are extensible via the bi-directional interface for end users; The system provides users with operators and parsers for algebraic formulae such that the stored statistical variables may be transformed and combined into the newly-derived set of variables. This functionality eventually leads to on-the-fly fabrication of user-defined regional analysis algorithms. The stored dataset may also be temporarily augmented by user-uploaded dataset; The extension of this form, in essence, results in a virtual database which awaits for users commands as usual. An initial evaluation of the proposed system confirms that the issues involving the usage and dissemination of information can be addressed with success.

Generally, TBM specifications have been empirically designed by the know-hows of its manufacturers. Since they govern the excavation performance and the cost of TBMs, it is very crucial to reliably determine them in the design stage of TBMs. In this study, a database consisting of TBM data collected from a various kinds of TBM tunnel projects was built to propose the statistical correlations for estimating TBM main specifications. From the statistical analyses, TBM outer diameters are found to have a strong effect on the TBM specifications such as thrust, torque and cutterhead driving power, which are much more important than TBM types and ground conditions.

본 연구는 현재 통계학회의 홈페이지(http://www.kss.or.kr)를 통해 서비스중인 ${\ulcorner}$통계학용어 온라인 대조표${\lrcorner}$를 개인의 PC에 설치하여 보다 손쉽게 통계용어의 검색에 활용할 수 있도록 소프트웨어로 재구성한 것이다. 따라서 사용자는 웹에 접속이 불가능한 경우에도 알파벳이나 가나다순의 검색 및 키워드를 입력한 검색이 가능하며, 검색된 결과의 레이아웃이나 글꼴을 조정하여 출력도 가능하다. 구현된 소프트웨어는 앞으로 추가되는 자료가 있더라도 사용된 데이터베이스만을 업데이트하면 소프트웨어에 대한 추가수정 없이 재사용이 가능하도록 구성되었다.

공간 데이터베이스에서의 질의에 대한 선택률 추정에 대해서는 많은 연구가 있었지만 공간 데이터베이스에서의 공간 질의에 대한 선택률 추정이 매우 중요함에도 불구하고 이에 대한 연구는 아직 미흡한 상태이다. 이 논문에서는 공간 검색 조건의 정확한 선택률 추정을 위해 공간 데이터 분포를 통계 데이터로 저장하고 이를 이용하여 선택률을 추정하는 방법을 제안하고 구현하였다. 공간 질의에 대한 선택률 추정을 위해서 기존의 통계 데이터를 작성하는 방법으로 균등 분할 방법과 비균등 분할 방법이 사용되고 있지만 보다 정확한 선택률을 추정하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 새로운 통계 데이터 작성 방법인 크기별 분할 방법을 제안하였다. 각 방법의 성능은 다양한 파라미터에 대한 선택률 오차를 산출하여 평가하였다.

마이크로어레이 기술은 근래에 개발된 신기술로써 동시에 수천-수만 개의 유전자 발현을 측정할 수 있어 다양한 생물학적 연구에 이용되고 있다. 여러 단계의 실험 과정과 이를 통해 얻은 다량의 데이터를 처리하기 위해서는 이를 효율적으로 관리. 저장, 분석할 수 있는 통할 정보 관리 시스템을 필요로 한다. 현재 외국에서는 몇몇 관리시스템이 개발되어 있고. 국내에서도 WEMA 등이 있지만 아직 데이터 관리부분에 기능이 치우쳐 있다. 따라서 우리는 복잡한 자료구조를 가지는 마이크로어레이의 실험 정보와 각 단계별 처리 정보 등을 사용자의 관점에서 효과적이고 체계적으로 관리할 수 있고, 데이터 정규화 및 다양한 통계적 분석 기능을 갖춰 불필요한 시간과 비용을 줄임으로써 마이크로어레이 연구에 도움을 주고자 통합 분석관리 시스템 cMAMS (cDNA Microarray Analysis and Management System)를 개발하였다. 웹 기반으로 구현된 cMAMS는 데이터를 저장, 관리하는 부분과 데이터를 분석하는 부분, 그리고 모든 관련 점보가 저장되는 데이터베이스 부분으로 구성되어 있다 데이터관리부분에서는 WEMA의 계층적 데이터구조론 도입해 관리의 효율성을 높이고 시스템의 이용자를 시스템운영자, 프로젝트관리자, 일반사용자로 구분하여 데이터 접근을 제한함으로써 보안성을 높였다. 통계처리 언어 R로 구현된 데이터분석 부분은 7 단계의 다양한 분석(전처리 정규화, 가시화, 군집분석. 판별분석, 특이적 발현 유전자 선뿐, 마이크로어레이 간의 상판분석)이 가능하도록 구현하였고, 분석결과는 데이터베이스에 저장되어 추후에 검토 및 연구자간의 공유가 가능하도록 하였다. 데이터베이스는 실험정보가 저장된 데이터베이스, 분석결과가 저장된 데이터베이스, 그리고 유전자 정보 탐색을 위한 데이터베이스로 분류해 데이터를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있게 하였다. 본 시스템은 LiNUX를 운영체계로 하고 데이터베이스는 MYSQL로 하여 JSP, Perl. 통계처리 언어인 R로 구현되었다.

본 연구는 분산환경에서 이용자가 다수의 데이터베이스를 개별적으로 검색할 매와 통합적으로 검색할 때에 유용성과 이용자선호도, 이용자 만족도를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에는 럿거스대학 School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies에 재학중인 28명의 대학원생들이 참가하였다. 두 시스템에 대한 이용자선호도와 만족도에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 많은 참가자들이 통합인터페이스보다 분리인터페이스를 선호하였고, 분리인터페이스의 검색결과에 더 만족하였다. 통합인터페이스의 편리함과 능률성에도 불구하고 참가자들이 분리인터페이스를 선호한 주된 이유중의 하나는 데이터베이스를 이용자 스스로 선택하고 통제할 수 있기 때문인 것으로 나타났다.

차가 증가함에 따라, 교통은 혼잡하게 되고, 교통 체증은 더욱 심화된다. 만약에, 교통 체증이나 도로의 속도를 이전의 통계를 이용하여 예측할 수 있다면 상당히 도움이 될 것이다. 본 논문은 다양한 종류의 도로 중 고속도로의 속도에 영향을 주는 요소를 분석하여 상호 영향을 주는 요소를 고찰한다. 이를 수행하기 위해 고속 도로 교통에 대한 데이터베이스를 구축하며, 도로 교통 데이터베이스에 교통 체증의 시간대의 가설을 적용하고, 다양한 데이터 마이닝의 연산을 사용하여 결과를 도출한다.
