  • 하천공사의 매립 및 준설 시 뿐만 아니라 최근에는 호우 시에도 발생하는 고농도 오탁수의 유출 확산으로 인하여 주변 수역의 수산자원 및 자연환경에 심각한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 유사는 하천과 호소에 유입되어 탁도를 증가시켜 수자원의 이용가치를 저하시키며, 박테리아나 각종 미생물의 이동 매개체가 되고 있다. 또한 퇴적된 유사는 유량이 증가하면 다시 침식되어 부유상태가 되며 이때에 영양염류나 독성물질이 재용출 되기도 하는 등 하천의 물리 및 토양환경의 장 단기적인 변화를 유발하는 원인이 된다. 결국 유사는 다양한 방식으로 하천과 호소의 생태환경에 큰 변화를 초래한다. 부유토사의 발생 가능한 피해의 범위와 정도는 유역의 부유토사 발생율과 하천, 호소 퇴적물의 성분종류와 입도분포, 그리고 유속에 따라 결정된다. 따라서 탁수의 영향범위를 예측하고, 악영향이 예측될 경우에는 탁도를 저하시킬 수 있는 오탁물질의 저하기법을 적용하여 그 대책을 수립하여야 한다. 현재 정부가 역점을 두고 있는 4대강 살리기 사업 중 하나인 하천 준설 사업 시 발생되는 고농도 오탁수는 주변 수역의 수자원 및 자연환경에 심각한 영향을 미치므로 자연환경의 보존, 해양자원을 보호하기 위하여 오탁물질의 제어가 반드시 필요한 실정이다. 기존의 오탁 저감시설이나 방법의 경우 오탁물질의 확산을 제어하는데 한계가 있고 오탁물질의 종류와 관계없이 일률적으로 시공함으로서 오탁제어 효과가 의문 시 되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 오탁물질의 확산 범위를 줄이고 침강효율을 높이는 방법을 찾아 오탁확산 제어 효율을 개선할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 오탁물질 제어 시 2차 응집물로 인한 오염이 발생하는 않는 천연광물 제올라이트를 이용한 실내실험을 통하여 고농도 탁수의 탁도 저감효율을 파악하여 고농도 탁수의 탁도 저감에 대한 제올라이트의 적용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 4대강 살리기 사업 중인 OO강 OO공구의 OO보 현장에서 하천 준설 시 발생하는 고농도 탁수를 이온을 첨가한 제올라이트를 이용하여 확산제어에 관한 효과를 검토한 결과 2,000NTU 정도의 고농도로 유하하는 탁수에 대하여 제올라이트 혼합 후 20분이 경과한 시점에 제거효율이 90%이상으로 제올라이트의 탁수저감 효과가 대단히 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on Change of Suspended Solids by Forest Road Construction(I) -Parallel Watersheds Method- (임도개설(林道開設)에 따른 부유토사량(浮遊土砂量) 변화(變化)(I) -대조유역법(對照流域法)을 중심(中心)으로-)

  • This study was carried out to clarify the sediment export by measuring suspended solids included in streamflow during the rainy season. The study area is located in Experimental Forests, Kangwon National University, where the forest road is under construction. For this purpose, the forest watershed with construction of forest road was compared with normal forest watershed in amount of rainfall and discharge, suspended solids and discharge, and the amount of rainfall and suspended solids. The results were shown as followings. 1. The relationship of discharge and the amount of rainfall was shown as Table 3 and Fig. 3. The delay time of peak point observed in hydrograph was changed by rainfall intensity and amount of previous rainfall. That is, when there was a rain on 12. Jun(more than 20mm/hour for hours), the peak point began three hours after the rainfall intensity over 20mm/hour, and showed $1514m^3/hour$ in automatic water level recorder. In case of the 8th of Aug.(maximum rainfall intensity: 40mm/hour), the peak point of discharge was $1246m^3/hour$ in the same time with maximum rainfall intensity. And on the 20th of Aug.(the maximum rainfall intensity: 17.2mm/hour), the peak point of discharge was $1245m^3/hour$ two hours after the maximum rainfall intensity. 2. On watershed under forest road construction, the relationship between discharge and suspended solids is that suspended solids was proportionately increased by raising discharge. That is, on the 12th of Jun, the maximum of discharge per hour was $1514m^3/hour$ and 1261mg/l of suspended solids was observed an hour after peak point of discharge. And in case of 8th and 20th Aug., each of peak points is $1246m^3/hour$ and $1245m^3/hour$ by measuring time. The maximums of suspended solids measured within two watersheds were examined in value of 4952mg/l and 472mg/l at the same time. 3. During the rainy season, the concentration of suspended solids was influenced by rainfall intensity and indicated especially curve-regressional increase in case of strong rainfall intensity. In each of watersheds, the maximums of suspended solids were 1261mg/l and 125mg/l, 4952mg/l and 44mg/l, and 472mg/l and 4mg/l by the order of rain(a), (b), and (c). Two watersheds showed a remarkable difference.

Sand Elimination in Shortnecked clam, Ruditapes philippinarum, Harvested from Western Coast of Korea (서해산 바지락 (Ruditapes philippinarum)의 토사 배출 조건)

  • Shortnecked clam, Ruditapes philippinarum, is one of the very important shellfish produced in south-western coast of Korea. But it's ready to be polluted and have sand in flesh because it mainly inhabit in silt at the inside of coastal area. This study was carried out to obtain informations about the elimination of sand in shortnecked clam harvested from western coast of Korea. During rearing shortnecked clams in water tank, the elimination rates of sand from them at 6, 13, 23, $28^{\circ}C$ were 59.0, 88.2, 97.9, $96.1^{\circ}C$ after 48 hours, respectively. The sand was eliminated above $95^{\circ}C$ from the shellfish at 32,9 to $40\%_{\circ}$ of salinity after 48 hours. But the sand elimination from them was incomplete and inconsistent at 10 to 20 of salinity. The sand was eliminated rapidly at pH 1.9 to 9.0 however, its elimination was not effective at neutral or acidity range, It was found that the sand elimination was most effective at $23^{\circ}C, 35\%_{\circ}$ salinty and pH 9.0. Reasonable flow rate for sand eliminate in shortnecked clam was above 150 L/min./shellfish $m^3$ under both 3,000 and 4,000 L/shellfish $m^3$, and above 100 L/min,/shellfish $m^3$ under both 6,000 and 8,000 L/shellfish $m^3$ in water tank.

Phosphorus Fractionations in Sediment of Mankyung and Dongjin River (만경강과 동진강 주요 지점 하천토사 중 형태별 인의 함량)

  • Sediments of Mankyung and Dongjin river were examined on the physico-chemical properties and phosphorus fractionations. The content of total-P in sediment of Mankyung river ranged from 290.1 to 405.4 mg/kg (average = 363.4 mg/kg), while that in sediment of Dongjin river ranged from 304.1 to 431.7 mg/kg (average = 353.6 mg/kg). In both rivers, the total-P was highest in June to September. It is presumed that surficial sediment in arable land flowed into the rivers with rainfall-runoff. Phosphorus fractionations in Mankyung and Dongjin river were apatite-P 52.1% and 42.7%, residual-P 27.3% and 34.2%, nonapatite inorganic-P 18.1% and 22.5%, and adsorbed-P 0.6% and 0.6%, respectively. Adsorbed-P in sediment was the most scarcity fraction. It thus appears that adsorbed phosphorus was not effected in aquatic ecosystem. But nonapatite inorganic-P would be highly released under changes of redox condition and pH in aquatic ecosystem.

토석류 유발 시나리오에 따른 충격력 분포도 작성

  • 최근 기후변화로 인해 국지성 집중호우 및 태풍으로 인한 피해가 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며, 많은 인명피해와 재산피해가 발생하고 있다. 그 중 토석류 피해가 산지뿐만 아니라 도심지에서도 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며 토석류에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 토석류 연구를 위한 다양한 토석류 모형이 있으며 토석류 거동 분석, 토석류 피해범위 분석 등이 이루어지고 있지만 토석류에 의한 충격력에 관한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 토석류의 유속과 유동심을 이용하여 피해범위에 따른 충격력을 산정하고 충격력 분포도를 구축하고자 하였다. 대상지역으로는 2011년 집중호우로 인해 토석류가 발생하였던 서울 우면산, 춘천 마적산 2개소, 용인시 능원리 지역으로 선정하였다. 토석류를 유발시키는 홍수량을 해석하기 위해 분포형 강우-유출모형인 S-RAT모형을 사용하였으며, 토석류 충격력 해석을 위해 토석류 2차원 수치해석모형인 RAMMS모형을 사용하였다. 모의 시나리오는 빈도별 확률강우량(30년, 50년, 100년, 200년)과 토사농도(Cv : 0.4, 0.5)를 이용하여 RAMMS모형에 적용하여 분석을 실시하였으며 각 시나리오에 따른 충격력 분포도를 구축하였다. 분석 결과로 나온 토사재해 충격력 분포도를 통하여 재료별(콘크리트, 철골, 조적식, 목재) 저항력에 따른 시설물 설치 가능 지점을 판단할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • Excavation works on stream beds have been done for various reasons including aggregate collection, sediment dredging, bridge constructions, or laying pipes under the ground. These activities may cause significant loadings of SS (suspended solids) resulting in water pollution and other detrimental effects to the surrounding environment. This research investigates application potential of a fickian diffustion model, derived from two dimensional advection-diffusion equation through some simplifying assumptions, as a planning tool for the estimation of SS loadings from excavation works and evaluation fo pollution prevention measures in case that sophisticated numerical simulation models are not applicable due to various practical reasons. Through a case study of the Juncheon stream in the Donghae City on the Kangwondo Province, this study demonstrates applicability of the fickian diffustion model as a practical method for the preliminary estimation of Ss loadings from excavation works and evaluation of performance of fabrics made of synthetic fiber for the reduction of downstream SS concentration with deficient field data.

  • The objective of this study is to propose reservoir operation method in relation to the suspended sediment concentration due to rainstorms. Present analysis is made for the Tamjin reservoir which is under construction. For the hydrologic computations the Huff rainfall distribution, Clark unit hydrograph method and Puls reservoir routing method are used. The variation of suspended sediment concentration is calculated by 2-dimensional RMA-4 model. As a result of this study, the possible intake time from the reservoir under low frequency flood is estimated and the rainfall-ret urn period - possible intake time relationship is established, which is very important in maintaining the water quality standard when supplying water from the reservoir for different utilizationurn period- possible intake time relationship is established, which is very important in maintaining the water quality standard when supplying water from the reservoir for different utilizations.

Experimental Study of Changes in Channel Characteristics at Stream Confluences (하천합류점의 하도특성치 변화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Flume experiments are conducted to describe channel adjustments at stream confluences and to examine some factors to which changes in channel characteristics are subject. There are different factors controlling channel size and shape; shereas the fomer is primarily controlled by water discharge alone, the latter including channel slope is influenced by sediment load as well as water discharge. The morphometric adjustments of confluent tributaries can be consequently classified into three types based upon changes in sediment concentration which are associated with the relative increasing rates of water discharge and sediment load at these sites. Flow is accelerated at stream confluences due to the convergence of confluent flows, causing an sharp increase in velocity. It restrains an increase in channel capacity, and furthers a decrease in channel slope, of a receiving stream. As a result, effects of slight increases in sediment concentration hardly appear on changes in channel characterisitics at stream confluences.

Sediment Discharge Based on a Time-Integrated Point Sample (연속점 채취를 이용한 유사량 계산)

  • A procedure for computing total suspended sediment load is presented based on a single point-integrated sample, a power velocity distribution, and Laursen's sediment concentration distribution equation. The procedure was tested with field data from the Rio Grande River. Computed concentrations agreed well with depth-integrated measurements corrected for unmeasured load using nominal values of $\beta$, $\kappa$ and w. Even better agreement was obtained when site-specific data were used to define the x and z exponents of the velocity and concentration distributions. The difference between total suspended load computed using a single measurement and this procedure and conventional computations based on depthintegrated measurements is well within sampling error. There are major advantages in estimating total suspended load using a single time-integrated suspended-sediment point sample. Less field time is required; sampling costs are greatly reduced; and sampling can be more frequent and better timed to measure the changing sediment load. Single-point sampling makes automatic sampling procedures more feasible.
