Changes in physical characteristics of white pan bread by addition of GABA rice bran and its extract (GABA 미강 및 미강추출물 첨가에 의한 식빵의 텍스처 및 저장성의 변화)

  • A rice bran physically treated to increase the residual gamma amino butyric acid (GABA) content (200 mg/100 g) or its hot-water extract (200 mg/100 g) was added into a white pan bread, and changes in the physical properties including color, and volume and texture changes during storage at room temperature were examined. The addition of bran powders had negative effects on bread quality and storage stability whereas that of rice bran extract (RBE) improved the storage stability of bread. The lightness of bread crumbs decreased but the volume of bread slightly increased after addition of the RBE. The increase in crumb hardness during storage was retarded by the RBE addition. The residual concentration of GABA in bread was increased 38-fold when 20% of RBE was added. The addition of RBE to white pan bread improved the resistance to staling and health-promoting function because of GABA.

  • 본 논문은 한 물체에 대해 스캔 위치 정보가 없는 여러 시점의 레인지 이미지들로부터 3차원 형상 복원을 위한 정합 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 정합 방법은 스캔 위치 정보와 기하학 정보를 이용하여 레인지 이미지들을 정렬시킨 반면, 본 논문의 정합 방법은 스캔 위치와는 독립적으로 수행되며 기하학 정보와 텍스쳐 정보를 함께 이용하여 정렬시킨다. 그러므로 텍스쳐가 있는 여러 장의 레인지 이미지들로부터 3차원 형상을 보다 정확하고 효율적으로 복원할 수 있다.

  • 이 논문은 그래픽스 API인 OpenGL에서 제공하는 기존의 빌보드 기법을 좀 더 사실적으로 표현하기 위한 방법에 대해서 고찰한다. 빌보드 기법은 다각형에 텍스처 이미지를 매핑하여 이 다각형이 항상 시점을 바라보도록 표시하여 어느 정도의 사실성을 유지하는 3차원 영상을 빠르게 생성한다. 그러나, 기존의 빌보드 기법은 물체의 위치에 관계없이 항상 동일한 이미지를 사용하여 사실성이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 빌보드 기법과 관측 방향에 따라 다른 이미지를 생성하는 뷰 모핑 기법을 조합하여 관측 방향에 따라 물체가 변화하여 보다 사실적인 3차원 영상을 생성하는 빌보드 기법을 제안한다.

Analysis and Synthesis of Structural Textures Using Projection Information (투사정보를 이용한 구조적 텍스처의 분석 및 합성)

  • In this paper we propose a new algorithm which extracts spatial arrangement information of texture elements in structural textures. In the proposed algorithm, by the use of projection information in several directions obtained from the texture image we can get two directions which determine the texture structure and the parallelogram grid which isolates texture elements. The isolated texture elements are analyzed and used to synthesize texture images. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method can extract proper spatial structure of the texture element even when the texture image is highly corrupted by additive noise.

  • 통신 수단의 발달로 인터넷을 이용한 E-mail이 활성화된 지금 명함에서 E-mail정보는 빠지지 않고 표기된다. 만약 수작업으로 관련 정보를 입력했던 것을 명함이미지에서 E-mail을 자동으로 추출한다면 유용할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 명함 영상에서 E-mail 영역을 검출하기 위한 텍스처 특성을 분석하여 텍스트 영역을 분할하고 연결화소를 이용한 개별문자 추출 방법을 통해 at symbol@을 인식하는 방법에 관하여 논한다.

  • 유무선 정보통신환경에 맞춰 제한된 비트율로 압축된 CCTV 영상의 화질은 좋지 않을 수 있다. 본 논문은 제한된 비트율로 압축된 영상내 관심영역의 화질개선을 위해, 영상압축을 수행 하기 전의 카메라 센서로 획득한 영상에 전처리를 수행하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 관심영역 및 비관심영역에 차등적 필터를 적용하여 화소 별 공간적 상관도를 향상시킨다. 제안된 방법을 사용한 결과 관심영역에서의 텍스처 손실을 최소화 할 수 있었으며 전처리 과정을 적용하지 않은 영상과 비교하여 객관적 화질이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 가상 피팅은 옷의 구매에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 하지만 아직까지 여러 문제가 있어서 상용화가 되기 힘든 현실이다. 이러한 문제들 중에서 우리가 초점을 맞춘 것은 자연스러운 주름의 표현이다. 시간적 특성을 이용해 옷의 움직임을 자연스럽게 하고, 옷의 데이터를 얻어서 그 데이터로 옷의 주름표현과 텍스처 표현을 자연스럽게 할 수 있을 것이다.

Effect of Addition of Enzyme-Resistant Rice RS3 on Quality and Textural Characteristics of Madeleine (효소저항성 쌀전분의 첨가가 마들렌의 품질 및 텍스처 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to examine the application of retrograded starch (RS3) isolated from rice flour into Madeleine which is easy to make, supply enough energy and micro nutrients with adequate drinks, and prevent an adult disease. This could be a popular food to anyone regardless of age and gender who avoid rice and become high value-added, processed rice foods. For this, control Madeleine was made from wheat flour and an experimental one was made from 5 or 10% rice RS3 addition as well as wheat flour. Four different types of rice were produced from Premium Ho-Pyong Rice, that is, dry milled rice flour(RFD), soaked for 8 hours and milled, followed by air-dried rice flour(RFW), rice starch(RST), and retrograded rice starch or enzyme-resistant starch(RS3). The results found were as follows: Proximate compositions were decreased with soaking to make RFW, RST and RS3, compared to RFD. RS3 had the highest L, +a and ${\Delta}E$ with the lowest +b, changing it to a dark color, explaining the need for heat control during processing. At $80^{\circ}C$, the swelling power was shown in the order of RST>RFW>RFD>RS3 and the solubility of RS3 was the highest. There were significant differences in viscosities of peak, trough, cold, breakdown and total setback of all rice samples using RVA (p<0.001). Due to the pH of RS3, the Madeleine batter became acidic (p<.01) and expanded, resulting in more air cells and open texture. With an increasing RS3 level in Madeleine, several textural attributes among 'fresh' and 'stored at room temperature' Madeleine samples were significantly different by using Texture Analyzer. While the addition of RS3 in Madeleine did not significantly affect the sensory evaluation, indicating RS3 isolated from rice as a beneficial ingredient for processed rice products.

Depth From Defocus using Wavelet Transform (웨이블릿 변환을 이용한 Depth From Defocus)

  • In this paper, a new method for obtaining three-dimensional shape of an object by measuring relative blur between images using wavelet analysis has been described. Most of the previous methods use inverse filtering to determine the measure of defocus. These methods suffer from some fundamental problems like inaccuracies in finding the frequency domain representation, windowing effects, and border effects. Besides these deficiencies, a filter, such as Laplacian of Gaussian, that produces an aggregate estimate of defocus for an unknown texture, can not lead to accurate depth estimates because of the non-stationary nature of images. We propose a new depth from defocus (DFD) method using wavelet analysis that is capable of performing both the local analysis and the windowing technique with variable-sized regions for non-stationary images with complex textural properties. We show that normalized image ratio of wavelet power by Parseval's theorem is closely related to blur parameter and depth. Experimental results have been presented demonstrating that our DFD method is faster in speed and gives more precise shape estimates than previous DFD techniques for both synthetic and real scenes.

Computer-Aided Detection of Clustered Microcalcifications using Texture Analysis and Neural Network in Digitized X-ray Mammograms (X-선 유방영상에서 텍스처 분석과 신경망을 이용한 군집성 미세석회화의 컴퓨터 보조검출)

  • Clustered microcalcifications on X-ray mammograms are an important sign for early detection of breast cancer. This paper proposes a computer-aided diagnosis method for the detection of clustered microcalcifications and marking their locations on digitized mammograms. The proposed detection method consists of the region of interest (ROI) selection, the film-artifact removal, the surrounding texture analysis method for the detection of clustered microcalcifications, which is based on the second-order histogram in two nested surrounding regions on the current pixel. This paper also describes the effectiveness of the proposed film-artifact removal filter in terms of the classification performance with the receiver operating-characteristics(ROC) analysis. A three-layer backpropagation neural network is employed as a classifier. The appropriate marking for the locations of clustered microcalcifications can be used to alert radiologists to locations of suspicious lesions.
