A Study on Standard for State Assessment of Tunnel Structures (터널 구조물의 상태평가 기준에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, as tunnel structures are getting older and decrepit, many tunnel inspections are carried out for evaluating the tunnel state and safety. But, because there is no exact standard for tunnel state and safety, depending on subjective decision, the new standard to assess the tunnel state is required. The existing standard including mainly the assessment of the state of tunnel lining is not considered the characteristics of tunnel as underground structures. Also, the item of assessment and process of grading and classifying the state of tunnel is not objective and systemetic. In this study, new standard for assessment of tunnel state is presented for improving the problems in evaluating the tunnel state and safety. In the new standard, the new items of assessment including geotechnical condition were selected and graded, the process in classifying the tunnel state is quantitative for objective assessment for tunnel state. This new standard and method is practically used in effective safety inspection and diagnosis and tunnel maintenance.

  • The representative Limit State Design(LSD) codes, AASHTO LRFD and Eurocodes, are widely being applied when designing civil structures. However, these codes are only applying tunnel lining design and segments design for shield tunnels. Recently in Europe, the Eurocode 7 committee was trying to create a research group called EG12, but they reluctantly decided not to create EG12 since it could have an impact on some of the other Eurocodes(including Eerocodes 2 and 3). Still there is an effort to continue researching LSD for tunnelling. LSD method will become the norm for the field of civil structural design in the near future. Therefore, it is important to fully understand Eurocode7:Geotechnical design in connection with Eurocode 2 and Eurocode 3. In addition, it is essential to follow international research trends and also to research for application to tunnelling.

  • In this study, the performance assessment criterion for reasonable maintenance of shield TBM tunnel was presented. The performance assessment items such as crack, leakage, breakage, spalling, exfoliation/detachment, efflorescence, quality condition, exposure of steel, carbonation, faulting step, bolts condition, drainage condition, ground condition, contact section condition and conduit condition were selected by analyzing domestic and foreign performance assessment criterions and investigating segment lining deterioration cases through the site investigation and in-depth inspection analysis result on the shield TBM tunnel. In addition, the reasonable weight using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) were estimated.

  • The number of tunnels are in fact increasing as a part of linear improvement project of general national highway and road enlargement and pavement project. Recently, collapses of portal slope are also occurring considerably, due to local raining from severe rain storm and abnormal weather. Accordingly, it was risen a necessity to efficiently respond to tunnel portal slope damage and maintenance in Korea and oversea nations. This paper is a basic proposal to execute a survey on the current status and state of the tunnel portal slopes that were already installed and are now being operated along general national highways, and also to execute state evaluation for the purpose of managing those effectively. As a research method, domestic tunnels were analyzed in accordance with geometrical shape such as access type, portal form, and tunnel type, etc. via field survey to analyze the types of tunnel portal slopes along national highways. State evaluation classification sheet is presented to divide classes for the danger state of the surveyed portal slopes, and then the related grades are divided. It is mainly aimed at classifying the tunnel portal slope along national highways with using this state evaluation, to use it as basic data so that continuous maintenance can be executed in the future in accordance with danger classes.

Analysis of the peak particle velocity and the bonding state of shotcrete induced by the tunnel blasting (발파시 터널 숏크리트의 최대입자속도와 부착상태평가 분석)

  • Bonding strength of shotcrete is a significant influential factor which plays the role of collapse prevention of tunnel crown and of debonding prevention of shotcrete induced by the blasting vibration. Thus, the evaluation of the shotcrete bonding state is one of the core components for shotcrete quality control. In this study, the peak particle velocities induced by blasting were measured on the shotcrete in a tunnel construction site and its effect on the bonding state of shotcrete is investigated. Drilling and blasting technique was used for the excavation of intersection tunnel connecting the main tunnel with the service tunnel. Blast-induced vibrations were monitored at some points of the main tunnel and the service tunnel. The shotcrete bonding state was evaluated by using impact-echo test coupled with the time-frequency domain analysis which is called short-time Fourier transformation. Analysis results of blast-induced vibrations and the time-frequency domain impact-echo signals showed that the blasting condition applied to the excavation of intersection tunnel hardly affects on the tunnel shotcrete bonding state. The general blasting practice in Korea was evaluated to have a minor negative impact on shotcrete quality.

서울 남부순환 도로, 관악터널 설계

  • 서울시에 건설될 새로운 내부 남부순한 도로는 제2 성산대교와 서쪽의 주요 고속화 도로를 연결하는 초고속 도로망을 구축할 것이다. 노선연장은 지하구조물 10.4km를 포함하여 총 34.8km에 달한다. 도로망이 완성되면 수도 서울 중심가의 심한 교통체증은 상당부분 완화 될 것이다. 공사비 7000억원에 이르는 대규모의 서울 남부순환 도로는 3차선 병렬터널 3개 공구를 포함하는 것으로 계획되어졌다. 이들 터널은 3차선, 일방향, 병렬터널로서 계곡부를 관통하며 굴착공법은 대부분 발파공법으로 계획되어져 있다. 가장 긴 관악터널은 지질조건이 복잡하며 따라서, 이런 지반에 적용성이 좋은 발파공법에 의한 굴착으로 계획되어졌다. 특히, 갱구부는 지질상태가 매우 불량하여 풍화암 자연상태로 설계하는 것이 불가능하였다. 설계자들은 터널 화재와 교통사고 등과 같은 터널내에서의 긴급상황에 대한 최적의 대책 수립에 중점을 두어야만 했다. 관악 터널 상부에 위치한 수로관을 통과하는 방법을 찾는 것이 당면 최대 관건이었다. 또한, 갱구부 주변지역의 환경을 보존하고 현장의 자연적인 아름다움 을 유지하기 위하여 굴착량을 최소화하는 공법선정이 중요하였다.

천부 터널 굴착에 따른 지하수 유동체계 변화 모사 - 현장 적용 사례

  • Visual MODFLOW를 이용하여 서울지하철 7호선 706공구에 계획된 터널 굴착에 따른 지하수 유동계의 변화를 모사하였다. 경계조건은 모델 영역 내 하천(굴포천)의 경우 일정수두경계, 터널 굴착 구간의 경우 $0.39{\sim}0.58m^2/day$의 전도계수를 갖는 배수경계(Drain), 터널 개착구간은 Inactive cell이 존재하는 일정수두경계 조건으로 설정하였다. 모델 보정은 현장시험을 통해 구해진 수리상수는 일정하게 유지하고 함양률을 변화시키면서 실시하였으며, 정류모사를 반복 수행하여 최적의 함양률(150 mm/yr)을 결정하였다. 모사 결과 터널 구간으로의 지하수 유입량은 굴착 및 개착 완료 시 $623m^3/day$, 터널 완공 후 정류상태의 경우 $584m^3/day$인 것으로 나타났다. Zone Budget을 이용한 유출입량 분석 결과 정류 상태 시 터널 내로 유입되는 지하수의 69%는 터널 인근 하천수의 유입에 기인하며, 나머지 31%는 주변 지역에서 함양된 지하수에 의한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Tunnel modelling in the field of geotechnical engineering essentially requires models of tunnelling machines and the simulation of tunnelling processes to clarify the detailed behaviour of tunnel construction. Modern advanced mechatronics, including construction processes, machinining and control technologies, are making it possible to fabricate such models. These technologies, however, are essentially developed in a gravity field condition and are needed to examine in a 1g or cenrifuge field condition. This paper presents the simulation method for tunnelling processes and the design method for tunnelling machines with special reference to the problem of earth pressure acting on the lining of a shield tunnel. The paper then introduces and verifies the design method for tunnelling machines in the 1g field by means of checking the reproduceability of experiment data and their comparison with data in the field.

  • This study is about an arrangement method of trapezoidal pre-cast segment lining that can be applied in shield tunnel construction. Trapezoidal segment lining is formed by assembling tapered pre-cast concrete segments taking advantage of the tapered shape of pre-cast segments upon delivery on site. By calculating tapering of the segments manufactured in single type and rotating the segments when putting them together, a variety of tunnel alignments can be arranged in the most efficient way. Once the design criteria and tunnel alignment (straight or curved) is analyzed, the sequence of assembling trapezoidal segments in compliance with tunnel alignment will be computed. On site an operator can utilize the softwareto automatically determine sequential arrangement of trapezoidal segments. When the actual arrangement of segmental lining is different from the computed output, the operator can input the actually measured values to coincide the computerized calculation with the real status of assembly. Then the adjustment will be the basis of subsequent arrangement of segments, thus the continuity of work can be guaranteed.

  • 본 연구에서는 터널구조물의 안전상태를 평가하기 위하여 터널라이닝에 광변위센서 계측시스템을 적용하였다. 먼저 터널 라이닝 모델실험을 실시하여 광변위 계측시스템의 신뢰성을 검증하였고, 터널 현장적용을 통하여 계측시스템의 적용성을 검토하였다. 본 계측시스템은 터널구조물의 상시적인 안전관리측면에서 효과적이라 할 수 있으며, 계측결과의 평가와 정밀안전진단에의 활용에 대한 연구가 필요하다.
