본 논문은 움직임 벡터 재 산출 방법에 있어서 제한된 영역 내의 움직임 벡터 재 탐색 과정을 보다 효율적으로 운용함으로써 기존의 방법보다 빠르게 동작하는 크기조절 트랜스코딩 방법을 제안한다 기존의 크기조절 비디오 트랜스코딩은 크기 조절된 비디오의 정형화된 재 산출 과정을 통해 움직임 벡터를 구하고, 화질 열화의 최소화를 위해 재 산출된 움직임 벡터를 제한된 탐색 영역 내재 탐색을 통해 좀더 정확한 움직임 벡터를 구하는 방법을 사용한다 그러나 움직임 벡터 재 탐색과정은 않은 계산이 요구되어 속도 저하의 원인이 되며, 비디오의 특성에 따라 움직임 벡터 재 탐색 과정이 불필요한 경우가 발생한다. 따라서, 움직임이 없는 비디오에 대해서는 움직임 벡터 재탐색 과정을 수행하지 않음으로써 트랜스코딩 과정의 수행 속도를 개선하고, 움직임이 많은 프레임에 대해서는 움직임 벡터 재 탐색을 수행하여 화질 열화를 최소화하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 적용하였을 때. 움직임이 적은 비디오일수록 화질 열화 없이 트랜스코딩 속도가 약 15%의 향상된 성능을 얻었다.

An adaptive hexagon based search(AHBS) algorithm is proposed in this paper to perform block motion estimation in video coding. The AHBS evaluates the value of a given objective function starting from a diamond-shaped checking block and then continues its process using two hexagon-shaped checking blocks until the minimum value is found at the center of checking blocks. Also, the determination of which checking block is used depends on the position of minimum value occurred in previous searching step. The AHBS is compared with other fast searching algorithms including full search(FS). Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides competitive performance with slightly reduced computational complexity.

본 연구는 인지양식이 온라인 학습의 성취도에 영향을 미치는 요인중의 하나라는 선행연구 결과들을 토대로, 인지양식이 온라인 정보탐색능력에도 영향을 미치는지 그리고 어떤 다른 개인적인 특성들이 온라인 정보탐색행위와 연관성이 있는지 고찰 하였다. 연구 대상은 대학원 석사과정과 박사과정에 재학중인 학생 36명이었으며, 인지양식검사와 Ellis와 Haugan (1997)의 정보탐색행위 모델에 근거하여 연구자에 의해 제작된 설문조사를 실시하였다. 학생들에게 연구 주제를 주고 온라인상에서 정보를 탐색하도록 시켰으며, 이들의 정보탐색행위 과정과 특성을 관찰하고 기록하였다. 인지양식검사 결과와 설문조사 결과를 양적 분석하고, 정보탐색행위 과정과 특성에 관한 질적 분석한 결과에 의하면, 개인의 인지양식과 온라인시스템을 이용한 정보탐색능력과는 아무런 상관관계가 없었다. 반면에, 정보탐색행위는 컴퓨터 이용 능력, 온라인 도서관 시스템 사용경험/능력과 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 검색한 정보에 대한 만족도는 정보탐색에 보내는 시간과 반비례 상관관계를 가지며, 대부분의 학습자들이 총 8단계의 정보탐색과정 중 " Browsing" 단계에 대부분의 시간을 보내는 것으로 관찰 되었다. 끝으로 대부분의 학생들이 도서관 시스템 사용능력에 높은 효능감을 보였지만, 학교 온라인도서관 시스템이 사용하기 편리하지 않도록 설계되어있다고 대답했으며, 자신들의 연구를 위해서 인터넷 검색엔진보다는 도서관 데이터베이스를 더 자주 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

To solve the large scale optimization problem approximately, various approaches have been introduced. They are mainly based on recent research advancement of simulations for evolutions, flocking, annealing, and interactions among organisms on artificial environments. The typical ones are simulated annealing(SA), artificial neural network(ANN), genetic algorithms(GA), tabu search(TS), etc. Recently the particle swarm optimization(PSO) has been introduced. The PSO simulates the process of birds flocking or fish schooling for food, as with the information of each agent Is share by other agents. The PSO technique has been applied to various optimization problems of which variables are continuous. However, there are seldom trials for visualization of searching process. This paper proposes a new visualization tool for searching process particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm. The proposed tool is effective for understanding the searching process of PSO method and educational for students.

The Particle Swarm Optimization simulates the process of birds flocking or fish schooling for food, as with the information of each agent is skated by other agents. The Particle Swarm Optimization technique has been applied to various optimization problems whose variables are continuous. However, there are seldom trials for visualization of searching process. This paper proposes a new visualization tool for searching process of Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. The proposed tool is effective for understanding the searching process of Particle Swarm Optimization method and educational for students. The computational results can be shown tiny and very helpful for education.

This study examines the effects of the judgment of information quality and cognitive authority on Web searching behavior. Sixteen scholars from diverse disciplines participated in the experiments, and the data were collected combining search logs, think-aloud during the searches, and post-search interviews in the laboratory setting. The results identified two distinct kinds of judgment, predictive judgment and evaluative judgment. The facets of judgment and criteria used for making Judgments of quality and authority were analyzed associated with the types of task, status of users, and discipline areas of users.

This study compared whether there are significant differences of searching characteristics between the subject specialists and professional searchers in education in terms of internet search engines. The major findings and conclusions from the study are as follows. Subject specialists used more search terms and Boolean operators and spent more times on the computers than professional searchers. However, professional searchers retrieved more relevant documents and had higher precision ratios than subject specialists.

본 논문은 육각 탐색에 기반한 고속 블록 정합 알고리즘의 성능 개선에 관한 것으로, 육각 탐색과정에서 추출한 정합점에 대해 정합 검증 패턴을 이용하여 정합도를 검증함으로써 국부 최소 문제를 효과적으로 개선한 고속 움직임 벡터 추정 기법에 관한 것이다. 제안된 방법은 우선, 적응형 육감 탐색에 있어서 차순위 국부 정합점을 이용하여 탐색 패턴을 확장한다. 이후 이렇게 확장된 탐색 패턴에서 추출한 임시 전역 정합점을 대상으로 정합 검증 패턴을 이용하여 정합도의 비교우위를 재차 검증한다. 이 검증 결과에 따라 추가 탐색 과정을 계속적으로 진행할 것인지 또는 현 임시 전역 정합점을 최종 전역 정합점으로 확정할 것인지 여부를 결정하는 과정을 반복적으로 수행함으로써 움직임 보상화질을 개선한 것이다. 제안된 방법에 따르면, 정합 검증 패턴을 적용한 검증 과정에서 추가적인 연산량 증가가 초래되지만 이를 상호타협적으로 보상할 수 있는 화질 측면에서의 성능 개선 효과를 기대 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to find important personal characteristics that affect search process and outcome, and to formulate causal models about searching behavior, by examining the channels and the magnitude of the factors identified. The study was designed to conduct a quasi-experiment with 67 student subjects. A total of 29 elements concerned with aptitude, personality, formal education, effectiveness of online training, search process, and search outcome are measured and reduced to 9 variables. 12 hypotheses were tested statistically and path analysis was done to investigate causal relationship among variables. Finally 5 models were formulated.

The aim of this study is to identify how searchers reflect the search goal requirements associated with search questions in process and outcome. One query which has two different search goal requirements was given to subjects, that is, one is to increase high precision and the other is to increase high recall. Using ERIC ONTAP file through DIALOG online search system, 54 subjects conducted online searches twice for the high precision search and for the high recall search. Subjects employed significantly different search strategies, invested significantly different efforts, and achieved significantly different results between the high precision and the high recall search.
