Channel Estimation and Prediction in Cross-Layer Design Using Side-information (크로스레이어 디자인에서 사이드 인포메이션을 활용한 채널 추정 및 예측)

  • The objective of MPEG Media Transport (MMT), which is on going standard, is to develop efficient delivery of media over packet based networks in an adaptive, progressive, download/streaming fashion over various IP based networks, including terrestrial, satellite and cable broadcast networks. In this paper we introduce utilization of signal strength information based on Cross Layer Design(CLD) to efficient multimedia delivery over wireless network in which in practice the wireless conditions can vary significantly. Many recent studies have shown that a significant improvement in wireless video throughput can be achieved by utilizing signal strength information on CLD [1][2]. Despite of its usefulness, however, it was difficult to employ signal strength information in rate adaptation applications due to different representation of signal strength information for each underlying wireless network. To that end, we proposed syntax and semantics of signal strength information in such a way that the information can be interpreted in the unified way. The proposed signal strength information was proposed for the MMT standardization.

Range Error of Monopulse Radar according to the Engagement Angle of Cross-Eye Jammer (크로스아이 재머의 조우각에 따른 모노펄스 레이다의 거리 오차)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the tracking error for the monopulse radar by controlling the phase difference, amplitude ratio and engagement angle of the cross-eye jammer. Cross-eye jamming is an important jamming method for monopulse radars, which causes a displacement in the radar receiving antenna input and misleads the radar's tracking angle. As a result of analyzing the tracking distance error of the radar while changing the engagement angle between the monopulse radar and jammer, the maximum distance error occurs when the engagement angle is 0° and the phase difference is 180°. It was confirmed that the error decreased to 70% or less of the maximum distance error into 45°~135°. In order to increase the efficiency of jammers, it is necessary to study rotary jammers or multi-channel jammers. This study will be very useful for the design of cross-eye jammers for aircraft and ships.

A Study on the efficient AODV Routing Algorithm using Cross-Layer Design (크로스레이어 디자인을 이용한 효율적인 AODV 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the efficient AODV routing algorithm in MANET is proposed. Because transmission channel has a high error rate and loss in MANET, the number of hops can't be regarded as an absolute network metric. After measuring FER periodically at the data link layer using cross-layer design, the scheme that every node forwards the weight of link status in the reserved field of AODV protocol is used. In order to find the efficient route, we design AODV to be able to select an optimal route that has a good channel status by evaluating the sum of weight. The proposed AODV improves throughput, routing overhead and average end-to-end delay in comparison with the generic AODV.

소셜미디어 채널별 특성이 소비자 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 콘텐츠 유형과 개인특성을 중심으로

  • 웹 기술의 발전과 스마트폰 이용자 수의 증가는 소비자와 기업 간의 관계를 혁신적으로 변화시키고 있다. 기업이나 공공기관들은 고객들과 커뮤니케이션 효과를 극대화 하기 위해 새로운 크로스미디어 플랫폼으로 등장한 소셜미디어를 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 블로그, 페이스북, 인스타그램 등 더욱 다양하지고 변화의 속도가 빨라지는 소셜미디어 트렌드 속에서 기업들은 채널의 특성에 따라 어떠한 콘텐츠가 소비자에게 만족과 구매에 중요한 영향을 미치는지 체계적인 분석과 운영전략이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 기업 마케팅의 활용 관점에서 블로그와 SNS 채널 특징에 따라 콘텐츠 유형의 만족도를 비교 분석하고, 이용자의 개인 특성에 따라 채널별로 어떠한 차이가 있는지에 관한 전략적 틀과 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 소비자와 판매자 간의 커뮤니케이션 방법에 따라 소셜미디어 콘텐츠를 홍보성, 정보성, 소통성 유형으로 구분하여 블로그 페이스북, 인스타그램의 소셜미디어 채널별로 소비자 만족도를 조사하고자 한다. 또한, 인터넷 이용자의 개인 특성에 따라 선호하는 SNS 콘텐츠 유형이 다를 수 있음에 착안하여 SNS를 이용하는 사용자의 특성을 네 가지 형태로 분류하고 특성에 따른 만족도의 영향관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 다양한 소셜미디어 채널을 활용하고자 하는 기업들에게 효율적인 SNS 마케팅 전략구축 방안과 인터넷 이용자 특성을 고려한 콘텐츠 활용 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • 기존 LED(Light Emitting Diode) 전류 제어용 SSPR(Secondary Side Post Regulator) 스위치를 갖는 구조의 다중출력 컨버터는 LED 정 전류 제어를 위한 별도의 부스트 컨버터 없이 전류제어가 가능하여 원가 및 부피 저감과 효율이 상승하는 장점이 있다. 하지만, 주 출력단(Master)의 피드백을 받아 1차 측 메인 스위치를 제어하게 되어 제어 회로가 복잡하고 주 출력단 부하 변동에 의해 부 출력단(Slave)의 크로스-레귤레이션(Cross-Regulation) 특성이 좋지 않은 단점이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 기존 SSPR 스위치의 장점을 갖고 주 출력 단의 부하 변동에도 부 출력단의 크로스-레귤레이션 특성이 좋은 새로운 직렬 공진형 LED 구동회로를 제안한다. 최종적으로 제안 회로를 4채널 LED 구동회로에 적용하여 그 실험결과를 바탕으로 제안 회로의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Efficient Video Streaming Mechanism through a New Rate Adaptation Scheme (새로운 전송률 적응기법을 통한 효율적인 비디오 스트림 전송 메커니즘)

  • To provide efficient video streaming service over a wireless networks, the rate adaptation scheme should be applied at the low layer and the quality adaptation scheme should be considered at the high layer. In this paper, we propose a new cross-layer design which includes rate adaptation scheme at the MAC/PHY layers and quality control at the application layer. Proposed rate adaptation scheme improves the wireless channel utilization by transmitting the consecutive frames and selects optimal transmission mode by calculating the goodputs for each transmission mode. Based on selected transmission mode, the rate adaptation scheme calculates the rate limits and informs that to the application layer. Then the video streaming application utilizes this rate limits to adjust the quality of the video stream. Through performance evaluations, we prove that our cross-layer design improves the quality of the wireless video streaming service by means of the proposed rate adaptation scheme.

MIMO-OFDM BPLC over Statistical Power Line Channels with Cross-Talk (크로스 토크를 갖는 통계적 전력선 채널 하에 MIMO-OFDM 광대역 전력선 통신)

  • In this paper, we present a MIMO-OFDM broadband power line communication (BPLC) for Smart Grid and its associated applications and analyze its performance over the 3-phase 4-wire power line channels. For practical BPLC system simulation, we adopt the statistical power line fading channel model instead of the existing deterministic fading channel models (Zimmermann model, MTL model, and so on). In this paper, we implement $2{\times}2$ and $3{\times}3$ MIMO schemes using 3-phase 4-wire power lines. We investigate the capacity loss and BER performance of the proposed MIMO system by considering the effect of cross-talk between antenna paths. We choose space-frequency coding in order to reduce frequency interference between subcarriers and employ maximum ratio combining (MRC) that achieves both multiple antenna path diversity gain and multiple fading path diversity gain. We evaluate the proposed system performance through computer simulation in terms of the impulse noise index and the capacity loss ratio and compare the different signal combining schemes including MRC, equal gain combing (EGC), and selection combining (SC).

  • Split-beam 트랜스듀서의 입력신호로써 Sweep 신호를 구동한 어군탐지기 SONAR에 대하여 기술한다. Sweep 신호의 대역폭은 트랜스듀서 공진 대역의 대역폭에서 주파수 이동 변환하였다. 목표 대상물의 방위각 추정은 각 수신 채널 사이의 크로스-스펙트럼을 사용하여 추정한다. 추정 방위각의 정확도는 제안한 시스템의 알고리듬에 관계하고 있다.

Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Vaned-Diffuser and Return-Channel for a Multistage Centrifugal Pump (원심다단펌프용 디퓨저-리턴채널의 유동특성)

  • This paper presents the steady-state performance analysis of the first stage of a multistage centrifugal pump, composed of a shrouded-impeller, a vaned-diffuser and a return-channel, using the commercially available computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, ANSYS CFX. The detailed flow fields in the vaned-diffuser with outlet in its side wall and the return-channel are investigated by the CFD code adopted in the present study. The effect of the vaned-diffuser with a downstream crossover bend and the corresponding return-channel on the overall hydrodynamic performance of the first stage pump has also been demonstrated over the normal operating conditions. The predicted hydrodynamics for the diffusing components herein could provide useful information to match the inlet blade angle of the next stage impeller for improving the multistage pump performances.

A Study on Multicast ATM Switch with Tandem Crosspoints (탠덤크로스포인터 멀티캐스트 ATM 스위치 연구)

  • This paper proposes a new output-buffered multicast ATM switch with tandem crosspoints switching fabric, named the MTCOS(Multicast Tandem Crosspoint Output-buffered Switch). The MTCOS consists of multiple simple crosspoint switch fabrics, named TCSF(Tandem Crosspoint Switch Fabric) , and concentrated output buffers for efficient multicasting. The TCSF resolves the cell delay deviation problem which the self-routing crossbar switches inherently have. Further, it offers multiple concurrent pathes from one input to multiple output ports. It also provides multi-channel switching by easy software configuration and has several desirable characteristics such as scalability, high Performance, and modularity. A shared traffic concentration and output queuing strategies of the MTCOS results in lower cell loss as well as lower cell delay time over a wide range of multicast traffic. Furthermore, it has lower hardware complexity than that of the SCOQ and Knockout multicast switch to achieve the same Knockout concentration rate as the conventional switches. It is shown that the proposed switch can be easily applied to design high performance for any multicast traffic by analytic analysis and computer simulation.
