미소원공을 갖는 선박 추진축재의 피로크랙 전파 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior of Fatigue Crack Propagation in Marine Propeller Shaft Materials with Small Circular Defect)

  • In this paper, fatigue crack propagation behaviors were investigated experimentally for the materials, carbon steel forgings (SF45A, SF50A, SF60A) which are used in the marine propeller shaft. The results obtained are as follows: The number of cycles required to grow crack length 1.30mm from microcrack initiation was about 60% of the total fatigue life. Fatigue crack propagation rate was expressed by the equation d(2a)/dN_B 2a/$N_f$ and the result was agreed well with the experimented data. And the equation d(2a)/dN=$C{\sigma}_a^m(2a)^n$ was evaluated also. Obtained material property m and n are 3~5 and 1-1.5 respectably, and the result was reasonably agreed to the data obtained from experiments.

  • 본 연구에서는 전보에서 실험역학적으로 도출한 .DELTA.A가 재료 및 하중크기에 의존하는 점에 착안하여, SNC631-A, SNC631-B, S45C, A12024-T3 및 A17075-T6 등 5종 류 재료를 응력비 R=0.1, 0.3, 0.5에서 피로크랙전파속도시험을 실시하고, 피로크랙팁 의 국소피로변형률장의 상태를 정량적으로 나타낼 수 있는 피로변형률확대계수 .DELTA.A(m, P)를 이용하여 크랙전파속도 da/dN을 통일적으로 평가하고, 그 결과의 유용성을 명백 히 하였다.

  • The aim of this study is an investigation of the interaction of two micro hole defects affecting fatigue crack initation life and propagation behavior. The locatio of two micro hole defects was considered as an angle of alignment and the distance between the centers of two micro hole defects. The fatigue cracking behavior is experimented under bending. When micro defects are located close to each other, the fatigue crack initiation lives are varied with their relative locations. In the experiments, the area of local plastic strain strongly played a role in the fatigue crack initiation lives. Therefore we introduce a parameter which contains the plastic deformation area at stress concentrations and propose a fatigue crack initiation life prediction curve. In addition, the directions and propagation rates of fatigue cracks initiated at two micro hole defects are studied experimentally.

연강 시험편에 대한 동적 균열 전파 해석 (Dynamic Crack Propagation Analysis for Mild Steel Specimen)

  • 연강에서의 동적인 크랙 전파는 충격 하중을 받는 3점 굽힘 시험편들에 의해서 연구되어진다. 시험편은 10mm의 두께를 가진 $320{\times}75\;mm$의 크기를 가지고 있다. 하나의 정적인 실험과 30.2 m/s 및 45.2 m/s의 충격 속도들을 가진 두 개의 동적 실험들이 행하여진다. 고속 카메라는 크랙 성장과 크랙 선단 개구 변위들의 데이터를 얻는데 사용되어진다. 두 개의 반쪽 시험편들의 상대 회전을 직접 측정하기 위해서 Moire의 간섭 패턴을 사용한다. 실험들에서는 크랙 전파에 대한 하중 속도의 영향이 없거나 약간의 영향이 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다.

  • Because of the existence of stress interaction field made by other defects and propagating cracks, the structure may be weakened. Therefore in this study, the crack behavior in the interaction field made by two different cracks is studied experimentally. In the experiment, vertical distance between two cracks and applied stress are varied to make different stress interacted field. In addition, the effect of plastic zone is used to examine crack propagation path and rate. Three types of crack propagation in the interacted field were found, and crack propagating path and rate of two cracks were significantly changed according to different applied stress as each crack propagates. And the results are attributed to the effect of the size and shape of the plastic zone.

알루미늄 합금재의 피로크랙 전파거동에 미치는 미소원공결함 (The Influence of the Small Circular Hole Defect on the Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior in Aluminum Alloys)

  • We carried out fatigue testing with materials of aluminum alloyC7075-T6, 2024-T4) by rotary bending fatigue tester. We investigated fatigue limit, fatigue crack initiation, fatigue crack propagation behavior and possibility of fatigue life prediction to the different small circular hole defect. The summarized result are as follows; Fatigue limit of the smooth specimens were related tensile strength and yield strength. In case of more large applied stress and small circular hole crack defect, the fatigue crack was grown rapidly. The fatigue crack propagation behavior proceed at according to inclusion. Fatigue crack propagation ratio appeared instability and retardation phenomenon in the first half of fatigue life but appeared stability and replied in the latter half. On other hand, this experimental data of the materials are appeared fatigue life predictability.

  • This study investigates the behavior of fatigue crack propagating between holes or holes filled with another materials. When holes or the holes bonded with another materials exist near center crack symmetrically, crack propagation rate is influenced by the bonding force of brazing part and the elastic modulus ratio of another material to matrix. It is experimentally and analytically confirmed that the center crack stops when its tip reaches near the center line of the holes and a small crack is initiated from the boundaries of holes or the holes filled with another materials and it propagates to final fracture. The mechanical behaviors of center crack near another materials are also investigated.

  • 균일 인장하중하에 있는 고체 내부에 고립된 제 1형 탄소성 크랙의 반취성 파괴를 경사슬립밴드모델(inclined slip band model)로서 연속크랙전위(conticuum crack dislocation) 및 연속격자 전위(continum lattice dislocation)을 이용하여 이론적으로 연구하였다. 크랙전위 및 격자전위에 관한 힘평형을 나타애는 연립특이적분방정식의 해는크랙전위 및 격자전위에 관한 적정밀도함수를 가지고 특이함을 해소하는 조건을 부가하여 얻는다. 이특이항 해소조건의 타당성은 처음으로 소성영역의 크기를 그 판단기준으로 검토되었으며, 그결과 합당한 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 상기방법으로부터 산출된 COD는 소규모 성역을 넘어서도 선형적으로 .KAPPA.$^{2}$.EPSILON..sigma.$_{Y}$ 에 따라 변화함을 알게 된다. 상기모델에서 위축적분경로(Shrunk path) 상의 J 적분치를 J=.delta..sigma.$_{Y/}$sin2.theta.의 형태로 유도하였는데, 이것은 J 적분에 관한 Eshelby의 힘개념을 구체적으로 표현한다: J는 크랙전파방향으로 탄소성크랙정점에 작용하는 가상적인 힘이며, 1/2 J의 한 슬립편면상에서의 분력은 그 슬립정면사으이 보든 격자전위에 작용하는 전단력의 총화와 같다. 같다.
