슬립 캐스팅을 이용한 통기성 세라믹형의 쾌속 제작 (Rapid Tooling of Porous Ceramic Mold Using Slip Casting)

  • The application field of porous mold is more and more expended. A mixture of alumina and cast iron is used for making porous mold using slip and vacuum casting method in this study. Slip casting is a process that slurry is poured into silicon rubber mold, dried in vacuum oven, debinded and sintered in furnace, In this procedure, slurry is composed of powder, binder, dispersion agent, and water. Vacuum casting is a technique for removing air bubbles existed in the slurry under vacuum condition. Since ceramics has a tendency of over-shrinkage after sintering, cast iron is used to compensate dimensional change. The results shows that sintering temperature has a great effect on characteristics of alumina-cast iron composite sintered parts. Finally ceramic-metal composite sintered mold can be used for aluminum alloy casting of shoe mold using this process.

  • This paper addresses a development work of a SLA apparatus on laboratory basis. The SLA test machine is composed of optical, movement, curing and control subsystems. Optical part is performed by a He-Cd laser with mirror combination and mechanical movement is achieved by X-Y table. The developed system is evaluated by several test runs, and shows a good precision capability in forming a basic part. The technique used in this work can be extended to replace the high technology transfer cost of commercial RP machine.

  • Rapid prototyping becomes widely used in design and manufacturing of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Here a drag valve disk consisted of complicate configuration has designed by CAD, and prototyped by a stereolithography apparatus (SLA) to confirm the design configuration. Also the prototyped valve disk was used for checking if it could be applied for casting from the view point of accuracy, cost, and time. The rapid-prototyped disk by SLA was compared with a high-speed machined disk by MAKINO V55, and it is found that the prototyping of the disk by SLA appears more economical, more accurate and faster than by machining with MAKINO V55.

쾌속금형제작을 위한 진공주형과 동용침 분말주조기술에 관한 연구 (Study on Vacuum Casting and Cu Infiltration Powder Casting for Rapid Tooling)

  • With the emergence of the 3D CAD, it is possible to create a physical part directly from a digital model by accumulating layers of a given material. The technology is being widely used for checking designs, to create master models for rapid tooling, and for reverse engineering. However, in general, a model created by rapid prototyping technology is made of soft material that cannot be used as mass prouduction hard tool. Newly developed powder casting is suitable for rapid-manufacturing metallic tools. Powder casting can serve as a promising rapid tooling method because of high density characteristics and low dimensional shrinkage below 0.1% during sintering and infiltration. Through this process, we have realized significant time and cost savings eliminating the expense of conventional prototype tooling process.

고정 마스크에 의한 레이저 미세패터닝 쾌속 제작 (Rapid Manufacturing of Laser Micro-Patterning Using Fixed Masks)

  • The technologies of laser micromachining are changed toward more complex-micropatterning, from the micro circle-shaped hole drilling to the micro arbitrary-shaped hole drilling. In this paper, the fundamental experiments by using DPSS 3rd harmonic $Nd:YVO_4\;laser({\lambda}=355nm)$ were carried out in order to obtain the feasibility of flexible micropatterning by various fixed masks. Fixed masks and Galvano scanners were investigatde to make micro patterns. from these experimental results, micropatterns on PEN film were rapidly manufactured in large area.

  • The RP&M (Rapid prototyping and Manufacturing) is the most appropriate technology for the small-lot production system, in which the production cycle is getting shorter owing to various needs from consumers. In this paper, RP&M is applied to a casting process. A casting process has a merit of being able to reflect complicated shapes at one time. But it has not been applied to the precision industry because of bad quality on surface. So we will improve characteristics of aluminum casting process using vacuum sealed casting process and porous ceramic mold which is made by slurry casting process.

  • The STL file format is an approximation of 3-D model with triangular facets. STL is a standard input file format of Rapid Prototyping(RP) equipment. In computer graphics, a circle has been approximated with an inscribed polygon, which causes an error between the real and approximated circles. In this study, an intersecting polygon has been used to approximate the circle and applied to produce more accurate RP part. The newly proposed method shows it's excellence in part accuracy.

  • The RP&M(Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing) is the most appropriate technology for the small-lot production system, in which the production cycle is getting shorter owing to various needs from consumers. Recently RP products which are made of plastics, wax, and paper are used to verify the design of samples. But these products cannot be applied to the real mold because the strength enough to be a mold cannot be given by soft materials such as plastics. So RP products are copied to AFR(Al powder Filled Resin) molds or metal molds, which is called the RP&M. In this paper, RP&M is applied to a casting process. A porous casting mold, which is made from ceramic powder and binder, is used for rapid tooling of aluminum shoes molds.

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 재료의 시트(Sheet)를 각각 절단하여 적층하는 방법으로 기존 적층조형법과는 다른 쾌속 임의형상제작 시스템인 CAFL/sup VM/(Computer Aided Fabrication of Lamination for Various Material)을 제안한다. 이러한 조형 방법은 가공 속도를 빠르게 하며 복잡한 후처리 과정을윽 대폭 줄일 수 있고, 여러 가지 재료가 사용 가능한 장점을 지니고 있다. 이러한 목적으로 개발된 2자유도의 X-Y테이블 형태의 CAFL/sup VM/은 레이저빔으로 시트(Sheet)를 절단, 적층하여 조형물을 완성하는 새로운 고속적층 시스템으로 가능성을 검증하였다. 하지만 2자유도 시스템은 X-Y 평면을 이동하는 작업공간에 수직으로 레이저 가공이 이루어지는 방법으로, 조형된 사물의 표면에 계단 형상이 나타나는 표면정밀도상의 문제점을 드러낸다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 2자유도에 3자유도를 추가한 5자유도 시스템을 제안하여 레이저의 경사절단이 가능하게 함으로서 조형된 사물의 표면 정밀도를 높이고, 일정한 패턴의 모양을 갖는 조형물 가공의 경우 여러 시트(Sheet)가 적층되는 부분을 한번에 가공할 수 있도록 하여 보다 빠르고 정밀한 5자유도 매니퓰레이터 CAFL/sup VM/ 시스템을 설계한다. 즉, 정속경로제어와 경사각절단제어를 구현하고 그 외에 수반된 자동화 CAFL/sup VM/ 시스템을 구현하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다.

주얼리CAD와 RP 장비를 이용한 주얼리제작 활용방안 (Plan of Jewelry Product Application Using Jewelry CAD and RP Equipment)

  • 주얼리 관련 산업은 국내 시장의 불황, 디자인 개발 부재, 기능 인력의 부재와 높은 인건비 부담으로 고민에 처해 있다. 또한 소비자들의 가격대비 최대한의 가치를 가진 차별화된 제품을 원하고 있다. 주얼리 CAD와 RP 장비는 수작업에 의존했던 주얼리 제조업체에게 생산성을 단축시켜주고 다양한 디자인과 빠른 신제품을 제공해 줄 수 있다. 하지만 아직까지 RP에서 출력된 합성 수지의 직접 주조의 어려움으로 원본 작업에 필요한 만큼의 최상의 주조 소환 사이클을 알지 못하는 상태이다. 이에 본 연구자는 CAD의 활용성과 RP 장비에 관하여 분석하고, 주얼리 CAD 작업과 RP 작업을 통하여 직접 주조가 가능하도록 주조 소환 사이클을 분석하여 원본 제작에 적합한 제품을 제작할 수 있었다. 이 논문을 통해 주얼리 제품의 질적 향상과 차별성을 확보하여 다양하고 경쟁력 있는 디자인과 제품 생산에 새로운 기반을 제공하는 것에 의의를 찾고자 한다.
