Web Cross Browsing of Korean Enterprises and Public Institutions According to International Guidelines (국제 표준을 통해 살펴 본 한국 기업과 공공기관의 웹사이트 호환성)

  • Korea is one of the most advanced countries in the world in terms of information technologies (IT) applications and usages. However, its web browser market is so dominated by one company, and its web cross browsing according to international guidelines isquestioned. In this research, we have empirically examined web cross browsing of web sites of major companies and pubic institutions in Korea through different web browsers which conform international guidelines. In general, web cross browsing through Firefox was lower by 19% than that through Internet Explorer. Web cross browsing of public institutions was better than that of companies, and financial institutions were the worst. Typical cross browsing problems found with Firefox were inability to pay online, failure to play multimedia contents, and frame display errors. Causes of web cross browsing problems and suggestions for improving cross browsing are discussed.

FastIO: High Speed Launching of Smart TV Apps (FastIO: 스마트 TV 앱의 고속 구동 기법)

  • Smart TV uses Webkit as a web browser engine to provide contents such as web surfing, VOD watching, and games. Webkit uses web resources, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images, in order to run applications. At the start of an application, Webkit loads resources to the memory and creates DOM tree and render tree, which is a time consuming process. However, DOM tree and render tree created by the smart TV application do not change over time because the smart TV application uses web resources stored in a disk. If DOM tree and render tree can be stored and reused, it is possible to reduce loading time of an application. In this paper, we propose FastIO technique that selectively adds persistency to dynamically allocated memory. FastIO reduces overall application loading time by eliminating the process of loading resources from storage, parsing the HTML documents, and creating DOM tree and render tree. Comparison of the application resource loading times indicates that the web browser with FastIO is 7.9x, 44.8x, and 2.9x faster than the legacy web browser in an SSD, Ramdisk, and eMMC environment, respectively.

  • The web is one of the most intimate technologies in people's daily lives, and most of the time, people are sharing data on the web. Simple messenger, news, video, as well as various data are now spreading through the web. In addition, with the emergence of Web assembly technology, the programs that run in the existing native environment start to enter the domain of the Web, and the data shared by the Web is now getting wider and larger in terms of VR / AR contents and big data. Therefore, in this paper, we have studied how to effectively deliver web contentsto users who use Web service by using service worker that can operate independently without being dependent on browser and cache API that can effectively store data in web browser.

  • 문맥광고 또는 컨텍스트 기반 광고란 사용자들이 선택한 웹 콘텐츠 내용을 기반으로 하여 연관성 있는 광고를 자동으로 선택하여 사용자에게 제공하는 광고기법이다. 즉, 웹 사이트를 방문하는 고객을 타겟으로 하여 그들이 찾고자 하는 것과 관련된 광고를 내보냄으로써 효과적인 광고가 이루어지도록 하는 것이다. 그러나 기존의 문맥광고는 사용자가 관심을 가지는 키워드가 아닌 광고주가 선택한 키워드를 중심으로 광고 내용을 선택하기 때문에 사용자의 실제적인 관심이 반영되지 않아 광고의 효과가 떨어지는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 사용자가 웹 콘텐츠를 선택할 때 마다 사용자의 선호도를 동적으로 학습하고, 학습된 선호도를 문맥광고에 활용하는 개인화된 문맥광고를 제안한다. 실험을 위해서 제안한 방법으로 광고를 생성해서 보여주는 웹 브라우저를 구현하여 기존의 문맥광고와 개인화된 문맥광고에 대한 사용자의 평가를 비교하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 개인화된 문맥광고가 ‘콘텐츠의 내용과의 연관성’, ‘사용자의 클릭여부’ 등의 항목에서 기존의 문맥광고에 비해 우수하다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 웹 기반의 스마트 교육 서비스 환경에서 스마트 스크린 단말들 간에 혹은 스마트 스크린 단말과 사용자간의 연결성 및 사용자 경험 증대를 위해서는 직관적이고 손쉬운 사용자 인터페이스 기술 등이 필요하다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법은 단말에 내장된 웹 브라우저위로 사용자의 손가락 제스쳐 인터랙션 등을 통해 웹소켓 기반의 스마트 스크린 단말간 콘텐츠 제어 서비스를 가능하게 한다.

  • In this paper, we developed an e-loaming contents for C programming language using Linux and open source software, not using commercial integrated development tool like Microsoft's Visual Studio. In most programming language courses, students study or practice the programming language by editing source code compiling and running the executable code by commercial software like Visual Studio which installed on each PC. This way of learning has some difficulties in total cost of purchasing software and using other PCs which donot have proper software installed. To overcome this situation and enable loaming anywhere, with any device, at anytime, we propose a way of utilizing Linux and open source software in Web-based learning environment. In this environment students can input their source code on the form of broweser and get the result instantly from the server.

  • M-commerce services are rapidly emerging with recent advances in mobile devices and wireless communications. Internet Shopping mall managers provide mobile phone users with their mobile shopping malls for m-commerce. However, these mobile shopping malls usually have their own sites which are not compatible with their Internet shopping malls, thus resulting in inefficiency to manage the two kinds of shopping malls. In this paper, we develop a M-commerce content provider system to effectively bring Internet shopping malls to mobile phones by extracting items only concerned to users from product documents. We then apply and evaluate the system over a specific internet shopping mall site. The results show that the system reduces considerably the amount of data transferred to user's mobile phones compared with using general web browsers.

  • Gangwon-do is a representative leisure resort. However, the provision of tourism information has not escaped the existing image- and text-oriented simplicity. Therefore, a linkage strategy for the content business is needed to revitalize tourist attractions. In this paper, first, we provide a 360-degree rotating VR content authoring function. Second, we propose a dynamic platform including a function that allows users to easily author tour scheduling after registering VR content on a map. Finally, the proposal system provides pre-tourism customers with an opportunity to increase satisfaction by providing online pre-experience.

  • The early Web technology was to show text information through a browser. However, as web technology advances, it is possible to show large amounts of multimedia data through browsers. Web technologies are being applied in a variety of fields such as sensor network, hardware control, and data collection and analysis for big data and AI services. As a result, the standard has been prepared for the Internet of Things, which typically controls a sensor via HTTP communication and provides information to users, by installing a web browser on the interface of the Internet of Things. In addition, the recent development of web-assembly enabled 3D objects, virtual/enhancing real-world content that could not be run in web browsers through a native language of C-class. Factors that evaluate the performance of existing Web applications include performance, network resources, and security. However, since there are many areas in which web applications are applied, it is time to revisit and review these factors. In this thesis, we will conduct an analysis of the factors that assess the performance of a web application. We intend to establish an indicator of the development of web-based applications by reviewing the analysis of each element, its main points, and its needs to be supplemented.
