A Fuzzy-based Dynamic Method for Efficient Sharing Bandwidth in Local Physical Network (로컬 물리적 네트워크에서 효율적인 대역폭 공유를 위한 퍼지 기반의 동적 방법)

  • Current policies for sharing bandwidth increase average throughput and improve utilization of the bandwidth in the local network. However, with these policies, a central administer, which is responsible for allocating bandwidth to each network flow, cannot allocate resources based on user characteristics. Thus, it leads to unfair bandwidth allocation because it does not guarantee services based on user characteristics. Therefore, we propose a novel negotiation method to share the bandwidth in a limited bandwidth network, in which, a user negotiates with other users to gain more resource. Ideally, we use a fuzzy system to infer and determine whether a device will request bandwidth or not based on the current usage of the given device. We conduct two experiments consisting of a video streaming simulation in OPNET and a real-time video streaming in WebRTC. The results of the experiment indicate that the proposed method can flexibly share the bandwidth utilization based on user's requirement in the network.

  • As ubiquitous computing technologies become the important paradigm for replacing internet based IT paradigm and developing the next generation IT, the research and development on the ubiquitous technologies are progressed actively. One of the core technologies for ubiquitous computing is RFID. In this paper, we design and implement the property management system as a new business item using the RFID since the demands for the u-business model that considers the ubiquitous environment are being grown. There are many properties in the organizations such as companies, schools and so on. Many users share these properties. Thus, these fields require efficient management systems for monitoring a variety of information such as the locations and the detailed information of the properties for the monitoring and lending services. We attach RFID tags to every property and monitor their information with our web-based management system. Our management system provides the monitoring service and the lending service for properties and users.

  • As digital contents are widely used and require increasingly high quality, the data storage services over Internet also become more and more important. One of popular services, web-hard, provides lots of users with web-based functions for data storage, management and sharing but such storage utilization requires quite high cost compared to using portable storage devices. Moreover, some users may avoid putting their important data into open Internet area. On the other hand, portable storage devices are cheaper but can be used only when they are physically connected to host devices such as PC. Also additional management and security functions should be equipped to support data sharing among users. In this paper, we propose a web-based data storage system combining those advantages of aforementioned two approaches. The proposed system immediately provides web-based services for data management and sharing when a portable device such as SDD is connected to the server.

  • 최근 e-러닝에서 대두되고 있는 중요한 문제는 곳곳에 산재되어 있는 학습자의 포트폴리오 정보를 표준화 하여 기록하고 이를 학습자의 학습에 다시 활용해야 한다는 것이다. 이를 위해서는 학습자의 포트폴리오의 공유를 위해 포트폴리오의 표준화와 통합 및 관리하는 방법이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 개인의 학습이 여러 기관이나 여러 이러닝 사이트를 통해 이루어 지는 상황을 가정하고 포트폴리오를 IMS에서 발표한 ePortfoliio로 표현하며, 이를 Apache Axis를 사용하여 웹 서비스로 관리한다. 기록된 포트폴리오는 필요에 의해 하나로 통합하고 이를 기반한 역량 온톨로지로 변환되어 학습자의 다음 학습에 필요한 콘텐츠를 제시하는 근거로 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • Most research organizations, universities and enterprises manage the transaction informations (customer informations, account informations, transaction results and so on), which is a fundamental item in the part of buying and research capital expenditure for the execution of R&D project or relative works. But because they don't only manage transaction information systematically but also don't put to practical use as sharing knowledge, many researchers duplicate their operations and it is shown a drop in efficiency. Also there are many problems because useful informations are unapproachable in the side of research management. In this paper, we propose the database design, application plan and service method for joint utilize of transaction information. And we prove the proposed method by service which is operated within intranet system. The transaction information shared by the proposed method will be useful knowledge and a major factor of efficiency improvement in research management field.

  • Researchers have increased their interest in effectively managing the disaster that appear in large scale and complex form. There are two types of disaster information, which are unstructured text data and structured data. Unstructured text data usually refers to text documents that have been referenced by disaster management personnel such as disaster manuals and related regulations, while structured data refers to various disaster information build in the disaster related organization system. This paper proposes a methodology of constructing a disaster information sharing system that enables joint use of disaster related organizations through the establishment of a mutual linkage system by utilizing both unstructured and structured form of disaster information. Especially, Based on the linkage information between structured earthquake information in earthquake related system and earthquake manuals and countermeasures against earthquake disaster, we propose a service that provides the necessary information for earthquake management. It is expected that the task manager will perform effective earthquake state management by acquiring the integrated structured and unstructured earthquake information of the ministries and related organizations.

  • The big data utilization category in the sports field was mainly focused on the big data analysis to improve the competence of the athlete and the performance. Since then, 'big data technology' which collect and analyze more detailed and diverse data through the application of ICT technology such as IoT and AI has been applied. The use of big data of sports contents in future has value and possibility in the smart environment, but it is necessary to overcome the shortage and limitation of platform to manage and share sports contents. In order to solve such problems, it is important to change the perception of the companies or providers that provide sports contents and cultivate and secure professional personnel capable of providing sports contents. Also, it is necessary to implement policies to systematically manage and utilize big data poured from sports contents.

Efficient Cooperative Caching Algorithm for Distributed File Systems (분산 파일시스템을 위한 효율적인 협력캐쉬 알고리즘)

  • In distributed file-systems, cooperative caching algorithm which owns the data cached at each node jointly is used to reduce an expense of disk access. Cooperative caching algorithm is the method that increases a cache hit-ratio and decrease a disk access as it holds the cache information of distributed systems in common and makes cache larger virtually. Recently, several cooperative caching algorithms decrease the message costs by using approximate information of the cache and increase the cache hit-ratio by using local and global cache fields dynamically. And they have an advantage that increases the whole field hit-ratio by sending a replaced block to the idel node on cache replacement in order to maintain the replaced block in the cache field. However the wrong approximate information deteriorates the performance, the concistency maintenance goes to great expense to exchange messeges and the cost that manages Age-information of each node to choose the idle node increases. In this thesis, we propose a cooperative cache algorithm that maintains correct cache information, minimizes the maintance cost for consistency and the management cost for cache Age-information. Also, we show the superiority of our algorithm through the performance evaluation.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 발전은 기존의 정적인 웹을 탈피하여 사용자들로 하여금 더욱더 동적이고 다양한 콘텐츠를 요구하는 형태로 바뀌어 가는 실정이다. 따라서 이러한 사용자들의 욕구를 충족시키기 위해 인터넷 상에서 표현의 고급화와 체계적이고 구조적인 방식의 콘텐츠를 생성하고 관리하기 위한 방법들이 논의됨에 따라 이를 충족시키기 위한 방법으로 W3C(World Wide Web Consortium)에서는 SVG(Sealable Vector Graphics)를 제안하였다. SVG는 기존의 인터넷에서 사용되던 비트맵 기반의 디스플레이 보다 훨씬 풍부하고 정교한 그래픽 표현을 제공하기 때문에 기능이나 장지 호환성의 희생 없이 완전하게 벡터 그래픽을 표현한다. 또한. 그래픽에 대한 논리적인 구조를 기술함으로써 인덱싱, 검색, 저장 또는 공유가 가능하도록 정의하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 SVG에 관한 기초기술 연구 및 구조화된 SVG 문서를 사용자 중심의 편집 인터페이스를 통해 일반 사용자들이 손쉽게 그래픽 객체를 직접 저작함에 따라 복잡한 SVG 구문을 자동으로 생성하는 SVG 문서 저작 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다.

  • In order to provide effective studies in accordance with the shifts in learning paradigms, an LD Publication engine, which is the former engine from the Learning Design (LD) based learning management system, was designed and implemented. The LD Publication engine analyzes the learning contents packages that have been prepared based on the LD and analyzes the constructions and meanings of the information files that describe learning activities in order to model them. The modeled data are fragmentized into effective and accessible forms from in the learning management systems and are then put into the database. LD based learning management systems provide learning effects and learner convenience designed to provide learners with a high performance learning platform. In addition, they will activate the development of content through the reproduction, reuse and sharing of the learning content, which will contribute to the expansion of infrastructures. These systems are also designed to enable linkages among learners' competences, preferences and portfolio, and thus the systems can be easily expanded.
