Effects of SW Education Using App Inventor on Computational Thinking and Attitude towards Computer of Elementary School Students (앱 인벤터 활용 SW 교육이 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력과 컴퓨터에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • SW education is considered important in the present age where various sciences converge. According to this tendency, SW education was included in the regular education course in Korea, which aims to develop the learner's CT. Therefore, researches on CT and educational tools are being activated. App Inventor is a simple app development tool that has many advantages over traditional tools. In this study, we developed and applied a SW instruction program that uses an App Inventor to develop CT for elementary school students. Moreover, CT was classified into two elements-calculative perception and calculative creativity- and performed tests after applying SW instruction programs. Furthermore, attitude towards computer were classified into three elements-c computer anxiety, computer preference, and computer confidence- and conducted tests. After performing paired t-test pretest-posttest matching samples on test outcomes, it was found that the CT of the learners who applied the program was increased, and the attitude towards computer also showed a positive change.

  • The method of distributing some questionnaires to the total 4 schools in the area of Gwang-ju city and then collect them later has been used in this study. By using the coefficient of Cronbach's alpha for the collected data, the trust rate of the method of questionnaires have been verified. In conclusion it's been analized that there are disparities in 'computer education course, professor lesson, possibility of computer use, teaching obstacles, self development of teachers, choice and organization of the computer education contents' according to the general situation of the teachers who charge computer education sand there are also disparities in 'goal of computer education, computer curriculum related learning activity, computer curriculum related learning satisfaction, practical use of computer facility, interested contents of students, other lessons besides regular education course' according to the general situation of the students who receive computer education in commercial high school.

Development of Edutainment Program using Computer Science Unplugged (언플러그드 에듀테인먼트 교육프로그램의 개발)

  • By result of statistics, over half of teachers college students recognized the computer science education is not important for elementary education as well as is having difficulties of learning in their real lectures. To solve these problems, this study proposed new edutainment learning program using unplugged computing. Firstly, we developed the learning content in computer science having edutainment attribute with unplugged computing and the teaching-learning methods. We also applied to college students in computer education that programs in two lectures and tested the efficiency of that program. As a result of test, the students have improved the self-lead learning and has a high level of academic achievement. Moreover, we found their perceptions were changed positively and felt the computer science as a worthy subject.

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과의 제재를 주제로 한 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습을 설계하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 프로젝트 학습과 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습에 대한 제이론을 고찰하고 이를 바탕으로 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습 모형을 설계하여 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과의 주제를 중심으로 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습을 설계하였다. 설계 단원은 초등학교 6학년 컴퓨터 교과(재량교과)의 '정보의 이해와 윤리', '컴퓨터 기초', '소프트웨어의 활용' 영역을 예비 학습으로 학습하고, 주제별로 그룹별 프로젝트 활동을 함으로써 학습자 중심의 학습이 가능하도록 하였다.

  • 최근 국내외적으로 SW 교육에 대한 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 변화에 따라 올해 중학교에서 SW 교육을 시작으로 2019년부터는 초등학교, 고등학교에서도 SW 교육이 시작될 예정이다. 앞으로 SW 교육의 성공적인 안착을 위해서 컴퓨터교육 이전의 세대인 학부모에게도 SW 교육의 이해를 위한 적합한 교육이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 2015년 개정 정보과교육과정을 기반으로 학부모를 위한 체험 프로그램을 제시하고 평가한다. 제안된 프로그램의 이론수업은 새로운 교육과정의 SW 교육에 대한 정보를 제공하며, 실기수업은 컴퓨팅 사고력(Computational Thinking)을 기반으로 문제 해결을 체험하도록 구성된다. 제안된 체험 프로그램을 통하여 학부모는 정보과교육과정과 컴퓨팅 사고력을 이해하였고 SW 교육에 대한 긍정적인 반응이 증가되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 과학·수학·정보 융합 교육 활성화를 위하여 한국의 융합 교육 연구를 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 한국의 융합 교육이 겪는 문제점을 도출하였으며, 과학·수학·정보 융합 교육을 활성화하기 위한 해결 과제를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 과학·수학·정보 융합 교육의 활성화를 위해서는 과학·수학·정보 융합 교육 모형 개발과 역량 기반 교육 모델, 교수-학습 및 평가 모델 개발이 필요하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구 결과를 활용하여 후속 연구에서는 과학·수학·정보 융합 교육을 활성화하기 위한 교육 모델 개발을 진행하여야 한다.

  • Since 2001, we have taught computer in elementary school to become the advanced country of IT in the 21C. However, people criticized that ICT education which is consisted mainly of the computer skills is not appropriate for information literacy education. In 2005, "ICT Education Guide Rev." is published. Thereafter, information literacy education has systematic frame. The experts emphasize the importance of performance assessment. Computer education can become the problem solving education if the performance assessment carried out. However, it is not successful without the good rubrics for performance assessment In this paper, we developed the rubrics for performance assessment for "presentation document writing".

  • In this study, we have look through the national progress of computer science education in South Korea and analyzed the main subjects and contents of each period. We suggests the ways to evolve the current computer science education in terms of class hours for computer science education, hierarchical instructions, and the limitation of current national curriculum. In South Korea, it has been leaded the computer science education in the world since the it was promoted in earnest since 1995. Based on the recently revised national curriculum, South Korean government are taking efforts to nurture a leader through computer science education in terms of the students' future skills. However, it should be promoted to strengthen the ability of not only problem-solving ability through programming education, but also balanced computing and digital literacy through enhancing the ICT skills. In order to improve the curriculum of computer science education in elementary school of South Korea, a sufficient class hours of computer science education should be secured first.
