A Study on Visual Attention Factors for Advertising Photographs (광고 사진을 위한 시각적 주의 기초요인 연구)

  • We see many images every day, some of these images are stored in memory, and the majority are immersed in the unconscious world. Visual elements are seen by personal attention or by visual or biological attention factors. Specific and clear discovery of this visual attention has not yet been made. However, there is an interesting discussion of this visual attention in the fields of interior, design, visual perception, advertising, and psychology. Advertising photographers are expected to produce what their work will have on viewers and consumers. However, the adjustment of subject, exposure, color, or post-production, which could have a visual effect on the consumer, was determined only by the photographer's senses rather than the experimental verification. The advertisement photographs provide a specific image related to the object to be advertised and deliver a certain message. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the effect of the image in a certain visual way. According to previous studies, there are two major factors that affect the visual impression of the viewer. One is the factor depending on the type and content of the subject and the other is the factor about the density and color of the subject. The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaningful changes in the visual perception depending on the shape, content, color and tone of the subject, which can be called the main subject, And to analyze the effects of I will study some implications of visual elements through various analyzes.

A Study on the Kiosk UI Reflecting the Elderly's Characteristics (고령자의 특성을 반영한 패스트푸드점 키오스크 UI 연구)

  • This study was conducted to improve the use experience of elderly people in fast food kiosks which are actively utilizing 'un-tact' technology. First, the Kiosk design analysis criteria were discussed through literature research. Then, the UI screens of McDonald's, Lotteria and Burger King, which are currently serving kiosks in Korea, were divided into colors, layouts and buttons. Next, the usability evaluation and survey of the elderly revealed problems with the interface design of the current kiosk. As a result, older people do not recognize buttons without an outline as buttons, and errors occur when layout changes or when viewing is complicated. In addition, horizontal navigation and vertical layout menus were error-free, and the design of buttons was error-free with the same color for the same function. Research shows that the Kiosk UI design is preferred by older people. First, buttons in the form of outline or solid are recommended. Second, vertical binding of buttons combined with images and text is recommended. Third, the screen layout should be consistent with the direction of view flow and manipulation, and should avoid increasing the number of menus and information. Fourth, page navigation is recommended in horizontal form and menu arrangement is vertical form. Finally, buttons that perform the same function are efficient for buttons to use the same color, and for different functions, applying a complementary colors can reduce confusion.

  • The demands of people who purchase fashion products on Internet shopping are gradually increasing, and attempts are being made to provide user-friendly images with 3D contents and web 3D software instead of pictures and videos of products provided. As a reason for this issue, which has emerged as the most important aspect in the fashion web shopping industry, complaints that the product is different when the product is received and the image at the time of purchase has been heightened. As a way to solve this problem, various image processing technologies have been introduced, but there is a limit to the quality of 2D images. In this study, we proposed an automatic conversion technology that converts 2D images into 3D and grafts them to web 3D technology that allows customers to identify products in various locations and reduces the cost and calculation time required for conversion. We developed a system that shoots a mannequin by placing it on a rotating turntable using only 8 cameras. In order to extract only the clothing part from the image taken by this system, markers are removed using U-net, and an algorithm that extracts only the clothing area by identifying the color feature information of the background area and mannequin area is proposed. Using this algorithm, the time taken to extract only the clothes area after taking an image is 2.25 seconds per image, and it takes a total of 144 seconds (2 minutes and 4 seconds) when taking 64 images of one piece of clothing. It can extract 3D objects with very good performance compared to the system.

Feasibility Study of Product Information Design at Internet shopping sites (인터넷 쇼핑 사이트에서 제품 정보 설계의 타당성 검토)

  • This study examines what information is that affects factors of purchase from product detail page of internet shopping malls. For this purpose, the first, the classification of Internet shopping malls and product information and purchasing factors were determined through previous studies, the second, by constructing a questionnaire based on this, verify the validity of each factor and, the finally, the biggest influence what information was performed to examine. What consumers really wants the information, what information to make purchases, the Internet shopping site will be to assist in the design. The results using the Internet shopping site that users reviews, site reliability, Information Architecture, reserve, 3D images and product images available, has been identified as factors affecting the use of reviews and product images available on the factors affecting the revealed. In the site design layout, color systems, text and many design factors are important, but will have to be designed to be purchased by providing sufficient information for the product.

Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA (Deformable Template과 GA를 이용한 얼굴 인식 및 아바타 자동 생성)

  • This paper proposes the method to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth in a color image for making an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light condition, and we find skin regions in an input image by using the skin color is defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and Genetic Algorithm(GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those can represent various shape of a face, eyes and a mouth. And GA is very useful search procedure based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. Second, an avatar is created automatically by using contours and Fuzzy C-means clustering(FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face color As a result, we could create avatars like handmade caricatures which can represent the user's identity, differing from ones generated by the existing methods.

A Study on Video Search Method using the Image map (이미지 맵을 이용한 동영상 검색 제공방법에 관한 연구 - IPTV 환경을 중심으로)

  • Watching a program on IPTV among the numerous choices from the internet requires a burden of searching and browsing for a favorite one. This paper introduces a new concept called Mosaic Map and presents how it provides preview information of image map links to other programs. In Mosaic Map the pixels in the still image are used both as shading the background and as thumbnails which can link up with other programs. This kind of contextualized preview of choices can help IPTV users to associate the image with related programs without making visual saccades between watching IPTV and browsing many choices. The experiments showed that the Mosaic Map reduces the time to complete search and browsing, comparing to the legacy menu and web search.

Estimation of the Spectral Power Distribution of Illumination for Color Digital Image by Using Achromatic Region and Population (디지털 영상에서 무채색 영역과 모집단을 이용한 조명광원의 분광방사 추정)

  • In this paper we propose a new method that can be estimation the spectral power distribution of the light source from three-band images. the light source is estimated by dividing the reflected spectral power distribution of the maximum achromatic region(L(λ)) by the corresponding surface reflectance(Ο(λ)). In order to obtain reflected spectral power distribution of the maximum achromatic region from three-bend images, a modified gray world assumption algorithm is adapted. And the maximum surface reflectance is estimated using the principal component analysis method along with achromatic population. The achromatic population is created from a set of given Munsell color chips whose chroma vector is less than threshold. Cumulative contribution ratio of principal components from the first to the third for classified achromatic population was about 99.75%. The reconstruction of illumination spectral power distribution by using achromatic population and three-band digital images captured under various light source was examined, and evaluated by RMSE between the original and reconstructed illumination spectral power distribution. The Study on the Application of Monotone in Contemporary Moving Image (현대영상에서 모노톤 활용에 관한 연구)

  • There is a dazzling display of colors used in contemporary visual media. The flood of color image in films leads to the application of partial colors onto the monotonous image, which is one of the reverse phenomena in this field of visual media. Nowadays, it became possible to revise the colors of moving images through computer graphics, and the excessive use of colors has a tendency to make visual impact uninteresting. The attempt is applied in a variety of ways from making video commercials and music videos as well as films. In particular, the application of partial color in the monotonous image in films such as Schindler's List(1993) and Sin City(2005) gave scores of audiences a fresh shock and added the depth of moving image. The purpose of this study is to examine how the principles and properties of the color affect us and how the application of monotone shows its effectiveness in moving images. By analyzing various case studies, this paper will propose and validate the progressive value toward the application of moving images in combination in the future.

  • Real-time remote monitoring system has an important value in many surveillance situations. It allows someone to be informed of what is happening in his monitoring locations. Kinect v2 is a new kind of camera which gives computers eyes and can generate different data such as color and depth images, audio input and skeletal data. In this paper, using Kinect v2 sensor with its depth image, we present a monitoring system in a space covered by Kinect. Therefore, based on space covered by Kinect camera, we define a target area to monitor using depth range by setting minimum and maximum distances. With computer vision library (Emgu CV), if there is an object tracked in the target space, kinect camera captures the whole image color and sends it in database and user gets at the same time a notification on his mobile device wherever he is with internet access.

A Study on LED Motion Graphic Formative Image on TV Music Show (TV음악쇼 LED모션그래픽 조형이미지 구성 연구)

  • This study analysed motion graphic formative image composition of TV LED backdrop to be used as background display for performers such as singers appeared on TV music show. Motion graphic LED images are comprised of various plane figures, and backdrop's design function as background screen has a goal to convey synesthesia and sensibility of visual elements. And this analyse classified sensibility concept about color, motion direction and speed to be elements of transmitting sensibility. As the analyse of graphic form among transmitting sensibility elements, this classified form type into its' applied elements, and studied how these elements' motion pattern and arrangement could be placed and replaced at song's four step composition, intro, verse, bridge, chorus part, and also characterized differences of backdrop design for male and female performers. As a case study, it included terrestial broadcasting TV song ranking shows targeted at teenagers. Because they carried out various motion design utilizations. Finally, this reasoned out mainly designing form type, its' applied elements, motion pattern and its' arrangements type division according to the song developing four steps.
