  • Since the introduction of reefer container for seaborne transportation, international trade of reefer products has increased continuously with the development of refrigerate technology, increased speed of the ship and change of consumption pattern. Reefer cargo is perishable and sensitive to temperature, humidity compared with general cargo and normally reefer cargo is more valuable than general cargo. Therefore it needs special care for its handling in transit including land and sea in order to prevent cargo damage. However, lots of claims relating to reefer cargo damage rise frequently in workplace. It may increase unnecessary logistic cost and time. The aim of this study is to improve and prevent damage to reefer container cargo in transit for the purpose of benefits to both merchants and carriers to save unnecessary logistic cost and time as well as to contribute to deliver the cargo more safely and efficiently to destination.

An Efficient Heuristic to Solve Vehicle Routing Problem for Container Shuttle Service (컨테이너 셔틀 서비스를 위한 차량 경로 문제의 근사적 해법)

  • Generally, the container road transportation can be divided into three types; short distance, long distance and shuttle transportation. Specially, the shuttle service occurs several amounts of container which is same as O/D pairs. Also container vehicle can be divided into three types according to the chassis types of vehicle; only 20-feet container, only 40-feet container and combined chassis trailer. Combined chassis trailers can load two 20-feet containers or one 40-feet container. This paper deals with Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) for delivering containers considering shuttle service. This problem is similar to the previously studied Shin and Oh (2008), but the characteristics of shuttle service must be considered additionally. We formulate the container shuttle transportation planning problem using combined chassis trailers based on VRP with pick-up and delivery which can visit each node more than one time, and propose an efficient solution procedure.

  • 우리나라는 수출입화물의 99% 이상이 항만을 통해 해외로 운송되고 있는 관계로 해상화물 운송이 국가적으로 매우 중요한 역할을 수행하고 있다. 해상화물은 크게 일반화물(벌크화물)과 컨테이너화물로 구분되는데 컨테이너화물은 갈수록 그 비중이 증가하고 있어 국내 물류망 개선뿐만 아니라 물류비 인하와 관련해 매우 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 따라서 컨테이너화물의 운송에 대한 기초 연구들은 사회경제적으로 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2011년 기준 우리나라 컨테이너화물의 내륙기종점(O/D)에 관한 연구 분석결과를 중심으로 국내 수출입컨테이너의 주요 항만별, 수입 수출별, 내륙시도별 분포 현황을 살펴 본 후 그 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

  • The cost of domestic container transportation is higher than international sea transportation and it cannot meet the needs of customers either. However, domestic carriers try hardly nothing to improve the carriage system. Especially, the inland transportation connecting Busan port is not receiving a careful study in spite of the importance and urgency now. This paper reviews intention of forwarders, shipping companies, and transport companies conducting a questionnaire and analyse the preferences of transportation modes amongst existing highway, railway, coastal shipping and inland waterway. Its aim is to analyse which factors affect freight agents to choose particular mode.

  • Fresh agricultural product in Korea are currently being exported overseas through expensive air transportation, supported by the governments's farm export subsidies. However all members of the World Trade Organization(WTO) must halt government subsidies by 2023. Accordingly, it is necessary to use marine transport capable of carrying freight at low cost. Reefer containers are used for marine transportation of fresh produce but it have a problem due to the temperature difference inside the reefer container which causes of fresh cargo and drop in freshness during sea transportation. In order to solve the problem, we developed a temperature control algorithm for reefer container that maintain a constant temperature and minimizes the deviation inside reefer container. The result showed that the maintained a constant temperature within a maximum of $0.5^{\circ}C$ based on the set-point of $4.0^{\circ}C$ inside reefer container.

An analysis on the Feasibility of Busan Container Transshipment by Barge service (부산항 환적컨테이너의 바지선 운송 타당성 분석)

  • The Currently, most cargos of container transshipment between Busan Port and New Port are transported over land, and the rest is transported by barge. This study estimated firstly the traffic between those ports through simulations in order to analyze the feasibility of container transshipment by barge. It forecasted annual profitability using determinants to affect on the barge business by the traffic, and then, discussed the feasibility. This study supposed the flexible scenarios with 50%, 60%, 80%, or 100% transshipment and the 25 monthly barge service numbers between two ports, and measured the influences of different factors according to the above various scenarios. And then the sales were evaluated by the different traffics and freights scenarios provided the business would be actually operated. Finally, Net incomes were simulated to analyze the feasibility of different scenarios by various traffics and freights. The net income should be positive to get the feasibility. To achieve this, the minimum traffic should be secured and the lowest freight per TEU should be determined. While all countries of the world is controlling CO2 emissions and emphasizes the green logistics, this study contributed to solve at the same time the problems about the pollution and the efficiency of transportation by reviewing positively the feasibility of barge transportation as an alternative to transportation overland.

  • TSR(Trans Siberian Railway)노선은 남한과 북한, 일본, 중국등 동북아시아와 유럽대륙을 연결하는 기간 운송망으로 그간 많은 국가에서 이를 활용해 왔다. 일본의 경우는 1971년 3월 일본과 나호드카항로에 컨테이너 선박을 취항하여 유라시아컨테이너복합 운송망사업에 참여하였으며, 남한의 경우도 1980년 중반부터 TSR을 이용해 운송하기 시작하였다. 남한의 TSR을 이용한 운송실적은 1991년 25,648Teu에서 1999년에 42,560Teu로 계속증가하고 있는 실정으로 그중 남한과 러시아의 직교역이 약 58%를 차지하고, 러시아를 통과하는 화물이 42%에 이르고 있다.   • In this paper, the reduction of CO₂ gas emission and exhaust gas emission by using the shift of coastal transport from land transport for import-export container cargo was proposed. At first, the domestic CO₂ gas emission, exhaust gas emission and the transportation of import-export container cargo are investigated. And also, we investigated the reduction of CO₂ gas emission and exhaust gas emission by the shift of coastal transport from land transport for the transportation of import-export container cargo between Kyongin area and Pusan Port. Finally, the change of NOx gas emission due to the change of the share of coastal transportation and using the 320TEU container ship are investigated. The research results show that the shift of coastal transport from land transport was effective to reduce the CO₂ gas emission and exhaust gas emission.

  • 운송 컨테이너의 식별자를 추출하고 인식하는 것은 컨테이너 식별자들의 크기나 위치가 정형화되어 있지 않고 외부의 잡음으로 인하여 식별자의 형태가 훼손되어 있기 때문에 어렵다 된 논문에서는 이러한 특성을 고려하여 컨테이너 영상에 대해 Canny 마스크를 이용하여 에지를 검출하고, 검출된 에지 정보를 이용하여 수직 블록과 수평 블록을 추출하여 컨테이너의 식별자 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 컨테이너의 식별자 영역에서 히스토그램 방법과 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 이용하여 개별 식별자를 추출한다. 컨테이너의 개별 식별자 인식은 ART1을 개선하여 지도 학습 방법과 결합한 개선된 신경망을 제안하여 적용한다. 실험 결과에서는 제안된 컨테이너 식별자 추출 린 인식 방법이 다양한 컨테이너 영상에 대해 효율적인 것을 보인다.
