Implementation of Wireless Micro-Magnetic Detection System in the Conveyer Belt (컨베어 이송장치에서의 무선 미소자기감지 시스템 구현)

  • Micro-magnetic detection system is used to detect small particles in an automatic transmission valve body, which signal noise and time-delay may occurs in process of signal transmitting and filtering. In this paper, we present the design and implement of a micro-magnetic detection system based on wireless sensor networks in conveyer belt. Micro-magnetic detection system consists of five modules which are magnetic sensor detector, signal processing unit, wireless sensor networks, system control unit and system monitoring unit. Our experimental results show that the proposed wireless micro-magnetic detection system improves both accuracy and time delay compared to the wired system; therefore, it may apply for wireless micro-magnetic detection system by analysis of packet reception rate.

Design of Differential Voltage-to-Frequency Converter Using Current Conveyor Circuit (전류 컨베어 회로를 이용한 차동전압-주파수 변환기의 설계)

  • This paper describes the differential voltage-to-frequency converter which is realized current conveyor circuits. The output frequency of the differential voltage-to-frequency converter is proportional to the difference of two input voltages. The designed circuit is simulated by HSPICE. The range of input voltage difference is from several volts to several milli-volts. From the simulation results the error is less than from -1.9% to +1.8% compared to the calculated values.

Assembly Sequence Planning for Multiple Robots Along a Conveyer Line (다수의 로봇을 이용한 컨베어상의 조립순서 계획)

  • In order to increase productivity of an assembly system composed of multiple robots along a conveyer line, an efficient sequence planning is necessary because the assembly time is dependent upon the assembly sequence. In this paper, a two-robot assembly system is considered in which two robots operate simultaneously and transfer parts from the part feeders to the workpiece on the conveyer one by one. In this case, the distance from the feeder to the workpiece varies with time because the workpiece moves at a constant speed on the conveyer. Hence, the sequence programming is not a trivial problem. Also, the two robots may interfere with each other kinematically and dynamically due to the simultaneous operation, so the sequence should be programmed to avoid the interferences. In this paper, the task sequence optimization problem is formulated and is solved by employing the simulated annealing which has been shown to be effective for solving large combinatorial optimizations.

A Design and Characteristics Analysis of High Efficiency Gantry Crane (고효율 갠트리 크레인 설계 및 성능분석)

  • In this paper, an improved high efficiency gantry crane for container transportation is designed. The basic concept of the designed crane can be used with modification of the classical gantry crane instead of changing lots of them. This crane can reduce the cycle time more than the classical gantry carne. The high efficiency gantry crane can improve the productivity of the container transportation job because of reducing cycle time. The loading and unloading capability are compared with classical crane. The result show that show that the proposed crane has better performances than classical type.

  • We developed a surface washing system for ginseng. The washing system was developed using different treatments and conditions and characterized in terms of product hardness, weight loss, and change in temperature and color. Optimal results were obtained using a surface washing system involving a washing conveyor speed of 1.0 L/min, a water pressure of $35\;kg/cm^2$, a washing nozzle angle of $40^{\circ}$, a washing height of 5 cm, a 1-sec reciprocating washing nozzle cycle, a dehydration wind velocity of 30 m/sec, and an internal drying temperature of $30-33^{\circ}C$. A surface washing system using a washing conveyor speed of0.8 L/min, a water pressure of $40\;kg/cm^2$, a washing nozzle angle of $40^{\circ}$, a washing height of 3 cm, a 1-sec reciprocating washing nozzle cycle, a dehydration wind velocity of 30 m/sec, and an internal drying temperature of $30-33^{\circ}C$ resulted in ginseng that was stained yellow.

A study on inspection system for brake pad (브레이크패드 검사 시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose to develop an inspection system that recognizes surface cracks on the brake pad and the types of brake pads of each car during the production process, on a conveyor belt. The brake pad is made from a mixture of materials, using high-heat and pressure. Therefore, the brake pad can be cracked and damaged on the surface during production. Our goal is to develop an effective detection system and application software to detect substandard product. A shadow is generated when the artificial light shines on the damaged of the surface of pad. Using the computer vision algorithm that is proposed we can detect the substandard product. Results from experiments confrim the performance of the proposed algorithm.

Development of A Drying Unit of Agricultural Wastes (농업폐기물 건조장치 개발)

  • 2013년 국내 시설(비닐, 유리 온실)에서 재배되는 토마토, 풋고추, 파프리카의 생산량은 총 632,315 톤으로 잎, 줄기 등 발생되는 부산물은 수확량의 약 30%에 해당되는 189,695 톤으로 추정되며 대부분 노지에 방치 유실되거나, 소각 처리된다. 본 연구에서는 이처럼 단순 폐기되는 농업폐기물을 재활용한 고형연료 제조에 필요한 건조장치를 개발하고 실험을 통해 그 성능을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 건조용량 100 kg/hr인 실험실용 건조기를 제작하였다. 경상남도 진주시 농업기술원 온실에서 재배되는 파프리카, 토마토, 딸기, 가지, 고추 등의 부산물을 실험원료로 사용하였다. 원료성상, 원료이송방식, 송풍량, 건조온도, 건조시간에 따른 부산물 건조특성을 파악하였다. 원료를 비교적 짧게 절단하고 열풍이 배출되는 다공판위를 견인형 컨베어로 이송시키는 형태의 경우 건조실험 결과 세절된 원료에서 추출된 내부 수분이 외부로 유출되어 원료들 사이의 공극을 채워 건조공기가 원료층을 통과하지 못하게 하고, 특히 $100^{\circ}C$ 이상 고온에 노출되는 경우 원료표면에 잔류하는 유출 수분이 건조되면서 막을 형성하여 내부 원료들은 전혀 건조가 되지 못하는 현상이 관측되었다. 이러한 원료내부의 공극형성 불량으로 국부적으로 공기가 통과되는 부분만 집중적으로 급격한 건조가 진행되고 공급된 건조공기 대부분이 이 부분으로 유출되어 효과적인 건조가 전혀 진행되지 못하였다. 피건조물 사이의 공극형성을 위해 원료를 절단하지 않고 수행한 건조실험 결과 건조 풍량 및 온도에 따라 건조속도 및 처리용량이 다르게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있다. 특히 송풍량과 압력을 증가 시킨 건조 결과로 건조 상하층 간 불균일 건조 해소 및 건조속도, 건조능력에서 연구목표 치를 상회하는 결과를 보여준다. 특히 건조공기온도 $150^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 풍량을 증가시켜서 원하는 건조작업 수행이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Air Fluid Analysis between Porous PE-Plate and Glass in Air-Floating FPD Conveyor System (공기부상 FPD 이송장치에서 다공질판과 글래스 사이의 공기유동 해석)

  • The FPDs(Flat Panel Displays) such as LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode), recently, have been substituted for CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) displays because they have a convex surface, small volume, light weight and lower electric power consumption. The productivity of FPDs is greatly dependent on the area of thin glass panel with 0.6 - 0.8mm thickness because FPDs are manufactured by cutting a large-scaled thin glass panel with patterns to the required product dimensions. So FPD's industries are trying to increase the area of thin glass panel. For example, the thin glass panel size of the 8th generation is 2,200mm in width, 2,600mm in length and 0.7mm in thickness. The air flows both in the thin glass panel and in the porous PE-plate surface were modeled and analyzed, from which a working condition was estimated. The thin glass panel on the porous PE-plate surface with self-lubricating characteristics was investigated and compared with that on the square duct floating bar surface with many holes of 1mm diameter when the thin glass panel contacts the floating bar surface due to malfunction of electric power supply.
