Despite the growing need for customized operating system kernels for embedded devices, kernel development continues to suffer from insufficient reliability and high testing cost for several reasons such as the high complexity of the kernel code. To alleviate these difficulties, this study proposes the MOdel-based KERnel Testing (MOKERT) framework for detection of concurrency bugs in the kernel. MOKERT translates a given C program into a corresponding Promela model, and then tries to find a counter example with regard to a given requirement property, If found, MOKERT executes that counter example on the real kernel code to check whether the counter example is a false alarm or not, The MOKERT framework was applied to the Linux proc file system and confirmed that the bug reported in a ChangeLog actually caused a data race problem, In addition, a new data race bug in the Linux proc file system was found, which causes kernel panic.

In this paper, we propose music and voice separation using kernel sptectrogram models backfitting based on log-spectral amplitude estimator. The existing method separates sources based on the estimate of a desired objects by training MSE (Mean Square Error) designed Winer filter. We introduce rather clear music and voice signals with application of log-spectral amplitude estimator, instead of adaptation of MSE which has been treated as an existing method. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method shows higher performance than the existing methods.

In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based retinal vessel segmentation model for handling multi-scale information of fundus images. we integrate the selective kernel convolution into U-Net-based convolutional neural network. The proposed model extracts and segment features information with various shapes and sizes of retinal blood vessels, which is important information for diagnosing eye-related diseases from fundus images. The proposed model consists of standard convolutions and selective kernel convolutions. While the standard convolutional layer extracts information through the same size kernel size, The selective kernel convolution extracts information from branches with various kernel sizes and combines them by adaptively adjusting them through split-attention. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we used the DRIVE and CHASE DB1 datasets and the proposed model showed F1 score of 82.91% and 81.71% on both datasets respectively, confirming that the proposed model is effective in segmenting retinal blood vessels.

The kernel density was determined based on sampling points obtained in a Markov chain simulation and was assumed to be an important sampling function. A Kriging metamodel was constructed in more detail in the vicinity of a limit state. The failure probability was calculated based on importance sampling, which was performed for the Kriging metamodel. A pre-existing method was modified to obtain more sampling points for a kernel density in the vicinity of a limit state. A stable numerical method was proposed to find a parameter of the kernel density. To assess the completeness of the Kriging metamodel, the possibility of changes in the calculated failure probability due to the uncertainty of the Kriging metamodel was calculated.
In this paper, the kernel regression model is applied for the case study of gas turbine abnormal state analysis. In addition to vibration analysis at the remote site, the kernel regression model technique can is useful for analyzing abnormal state of rotor vibration signals of gas turbine in power plant. In monitoring based on data-driven techniques correlated measurements, the fault free training data of shaft vibration obtained during normal operations of gas turbine are used to develop a empirical model based on auto-associative kernel regression. This data-driven model can be used to predict virtual measurements, which are compared with real-time data, generating residuals. Any faults in the system may cause statistically abnormal changes in these residuals and could be detected. As the result, the kernel regression model provides information that can distinguish anomalies such as sensor failure in a shaft vibration signal.

In this paper, a deep learning method is proposed to detect the fire effectively by using video of surveillance camera. Based on AlexNet model, classification performance is compared according to kernel size and stride of convolution layer. Dataset for learning and interfering are classified into two classes such as normal and fire. Normal images include clouds, and foggy images, and fire images include smoke and flames images, respectively. As results of simulations, it is shown that the larger kernel size and smaller stride shows better performance.
