Electrolytic Synthesis of 9-Methyl-2,3,6,7-tetramethoxyfluorene with Carbon Electrodes (카본전극을 이용한 9-Methyl-2,3,6,7-tetramethoxyfluorene의 합성)

  • The intramolecular cyclization of 1,1-bis-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethane was shown to take place upon anodic oxidation at carbon electrodes in acetonitrile or in a solvent-mixture containing dichloromethane, trifluoroacetic acid(TFA). Yields are low in the former solvent due to the fact that the cyclized product (9-methyl-2,3,6,7-tetramethoxyfluorene) is more easily oxidized than it's precursor and the oxidation product is not stable. In the presence of TFA, the cation radical derived from the oxidation of the cyclized product is stabilized thus, after reduction may be isolated with better yields.

Catalytic decomposition of ethane over carbon blacks (카본 블랙 촉매를 이용하는 에탄 분해에 관한 연구)

  • Catalytic activities of color and conductive carbon blacks in ethane decomposition for $CO_2-free$ hydrogen production were investigated. The ethane decomposition was carried out in a conventional fixed bed reactor under atmospheric pressure at 973-1173 K for 2 hours. When the decomposition in the presence of carbon black was compared with the non-catalytic thermal decomposition, the former exhibited significantly higher ethane conversion, higher C(s) selectivity and lower ethylene selectivity with small increase of the methane selectivity, which resulted in higher hydrogen yield. This indicates that carbon black is catalytically effective for dehydrogenation of ethane as well as subsequent decomposition of ethylene. All the carbon blacks exhibited stable catalytic activity with time. In durability tests, fluffy N-330 and BP2000 maintained their activities for 36 hours.

  • 재료의 종류 및 특성에 따른 전기 반응 약물방출 특성을 확인하기 위하여 전압을 이용한 약물방출 시스템을 설계 하였으며 각각의 재료의 특성에 따른 약물방출 특성을 확인하였다. 약물방출은 활성탄소섬유에 친수성 관능기를 도입할 경우 방출되는 약물의 양이 37% 감소하였다. 한편 PVA에 카본블랙을 첨가하여 전도성을 향상 시킨 경우 11%의 약물만을 방출하던 PVA가 대부분의 약물(98%)을 방출하였다.

  • 산업이 고도화되는 과정에서 에너지의 고효율화를 위하여 고온, 고압 등의 극한환경 하의 공정이 불가결하며, 이에 따라 초미세분진인 나노 입자가 증가되고 있다. 이에 따라 해당 나노의 입자 처리를 위하여 다양한 용도에서의 고온 필터가 산업적으로 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 디젤엔진 매연저감 후처리 장치, 소각로, 발전소 등의 미세 분진 포집 필터로서의 응용을 위해, 카본 파이버에 SiC 휘스커를 증착하는 실험을 진행하였다. 휘스커 증착 공정은 촉매없이 SiC 휘스커를 카본 파이버 위에 화학증착하였다. 휘스커 성장 시 증착 조건의 변화를 통하여 다양한 휘스커의 증착 형태 및 미세구조를 관찰하였다. 또한 높은 포집 효율 및 기체투과도를 갖추기 위해, 휘스커가 증착된 시편의 포집효율 및 기체투과도 향상을 위한 실험을 진행하였다. 해당 실험의 결과로, 증착된 필터는 70% 이상의 포집효율을 보이면서도 기체 투과도는 현재 상용화되어 있는 코디얼라이트보다 5배 이상 높았다. 또한 필터에 추가적인 SiC 침윤공정을 통하여 시편의 내산화성, 내마모성, 내열성 등의 특성이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

  • Mechanical characteristics of composite laminates and cylindrical shell using scrim of glass scrim are evaluated in this paper. Composite laminates and cylindrical shells are made by inserting carbon scrim or glass scrim between layers. The mechanical properties are routinely characterized by ASTM stands. Experimental results show that the mechanical properties of UD prepreg in the transverse direction are highly improved by inderting scrims between layers.

  • We prepared EM wave absorbers by using recycled Ba ferrite far GHz frequency, and investigated the effects of carbon additions and preparation temperatures on their EM wave absorption properties. We clarified that it is very important to consider carbon amounts in Ba ferrite and preparation temperature for Ba ferrite EM wave absorbers with high quality.

  • The effects of carbon black on the fatigue lift and the fracture morphology and the carbon black dispersion of the carbon-black filled natural rubbers, for the vibration-proof, were investigated. Different kinds of carbon blacks resulted in different fatigue lift and fracture morphologies, which are classified by micro-scale and macro-scale fracture morphologies. These results be related to the size distribution of carbon black particles, the development of the carbon black agglomerate and the combine forces between the carbon black and the natural rubber.

  • We demonstrated the viability of fully microfabricating SWCNT(single-wall carbon nanotube) film strain sensors for force and weight sensing. Our spray-deposited SWCNT film strain sensors showed good linearity over a range from 0 to 400 microstrain, and much higher sensitivity compared to commercial metal foil-type gauges. The number of grids and the thickness of the SWCNT film were found to have a significant effect on the strain sensing properties of the SWCNT film gauges. A strain sensing methode for the CNT-based strain gauges was also investigated using a binocular type beam load cells. Preliminary results indicate that the microfabrication method shown here is promising for developing a commercial strain gauge using a spray-coated SWCNT thin film. In the near future, various studies will be performed to further enhance the properties of the spray-coated SWCNT film strain sensors.

  • Photografting reaction onto styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) as a function of monomer concentration, irradiation time and carbon black content has been studied using ultraviolet (UV). Acrylamide and benzophenone are used as monomer and photoinitiator, respectively. FT-IR ATR and static contact angle analysis using distilled water are used to measure the graft ratio of acrylamide onto SBR surface. Graft ratio of acrylamide increases with acrylamide concentration and irradiation time and contact angle tends to decrease with increasing graft ratio. It is observed that graft ratio increases with carbon black content.

  • In this research is an examined the fundamental characteristics of color quantization of color mortar in according to the liquid carbon black. If the mortar mixed with liquid carbon black, and is excellent in color developing property as compared to existing powdered black pigment, compressive strength was excellent value in the range of less than 1%.
