The Effects of Home connected Praise and Encouragement Programs on Children's Interpersonal Relationships and Subjective Well-being (가정연계 칭찬.격려프로그램이 초등학생의 대인관계 및 주관적안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the home connected praise and encouragement program which it affects the interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being of elementary children. To achieve this purpose, 58 fifth grade students were measured based on the interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being scale. Then 29 students were placed in the experimental group while the other 29 children were placed in the control group. The experimental group participated in home connected praise and encouragement program, the control group didn't. The quantitative analysis results verifying the effects of the program were as follows: The experimental group treated by the home connected praise and encouragement program showed significant improvement in interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being compared to the control group. Follows are results from qualitative analysis. First, children have increased positive personal relations with companion, parents, teacher, and improved closeness with family by the home connected praise and encouragement program. Second, children have increased edification of self-confidence, satisfaction in school and home by them. These results supported our hypothesis that the home connected praise and encouragement program effectively improved interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being of elementary school children.

  • 얼마 전 난생 처음 결혼식 주례를 부탁받게 되었는데 황당도 하고 착잡하기도 했지만 결혼에 대한 반추해 보는 시간이 되었다. 결혼은 서로 칭찬하고 격려하는 것이며 짝지워진 배우자를 비교하지 말고 최상급으로 생각하며 사는 것이 아닐까.

  • This study looked into how to carry out sacrifices for intra-game cooperation in becoming a high-level player. The results are as follows. First, the way players behave is dependent on their resources(scores). Second, the higher the player's score, the more praise cards were given to dealers. Third, high-scoring players have taken on a role of "sacrificing the self to serve the many" by voluntarily playing the role of healer, leading the team to set the rules and consequently reducing the risk of a probable role conflict within the team.

The Effects of Peer-Praise Activity Program on Peer-Relationship and Class Cohesiveness for Elementary School Students (또래 칭찬활동 프로그램이 초등학생의 교우관계와 학급응집성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate how the Peer-Praise Activity program influence the Elementary School Students' Peer-Relationship and Class Cohesiveness. 2 Classes from the 5th grade of J elementary school in Seoul were selected as experimental group and control group. After the Peer-Praise Activity program was applied to experimental group, a post-test was given to verify the effects of the program. After one month, follow up-test was conducted to check the effect of durability on program. The program was applied to experimental group to check the inadequency and problem. Contrastively, control group had no application of the program. The results of this study are as follows : Compared to control group, experimental group that participated in the Peer-Praise Activity program showed significant improvement(p<.05) in Peer-Relationship and Class Cohesiveness. To supplement the results of quantitative analysis, opinion documents and qualitative analysis were executed. It shows that children had help of having confident school life by improving friendship and having a sense of unity and community spirit. In follow up-test result, it is known that the effect of Peer-Praise Activity Program is continued in Peer-Relationship and Class Cohesiveness and its all sub-factors except Communal life with friends which is one of the sub-factor in Peer-Relationship. The results above prove that Peer-Praise Activity Program has a positive effect on the Peer-Relationship and Class Cohesiveness for elementary school students. But it is needed to study long-term conducted program to improve durability effect. And curriculums and subjects which is able to connected with program should be studied continually.
