Chilseongpul-i is a Korean shamanic myth in which the life story full of hardships of seven sons is told, until they will take up the sacredness of Chilseong god. The seven sons, who were born from Chilseongnim and his wife Okneobuin, are abandoned by their father, Chilseongnim. But sometime later they are born with new characters after going through a special growth process of suffering, dying, and rebirth. They finally recover the sacred position to save their mother. As considered by the analytical psychology, the fact that the seven sons became Chilseong gods shows an individuation process of the heroic mythology. The individuation process might be regarded as a symbol of Self-archetype of Koreans. Self-archetype functions as a healing which gets one's split heart and mind together. An imago dei of healers should be projected upon the seven gods by ancestors.
These studies were conducted to investigate the prey consumption and suppression of cotton aphid and green peach aphid by Chrysopa pallens Ramber as a predator. The 3$^{rd}$ instar of C. pallets fed on 29.8, 77.9, 133.6, and 155.7 individuals of apterous Aphis goussypii Glover a day at 17,22, 27, and 32$^{\circ}C$, respectively. A preovipositing female fed on 73.1 individuals, ovipositing female on 86.6 individuals, and adult male on 69.7 individuals of apterous Myzus persicae (Sulzer) a day at the 27$^{\circ}C$. The functional response curve of the larvae and adults of C. pallens to the densities of A. gossypii indicated Helling’s Type II: the consumption of prey by the C. pallens increased with the prey density but the consumption rate decreased. The attack rate of 3rd instar of C. pallens was the highest among the 2nd instar, 3$^{rd}$ instar, adult male and adult female, and handling time was the shortest. The critical ratio of the predator vs. the prey to effectively suppress the population of A. gossypii by releasing C. pallets eggs was 1 : 4 on red pepper and egg plant, and 1 : 3 on cucumber. Release of second larval stave of C. pallens at the ratio of 1 : 30 of the predator vs. the prey controlled satisfactorily A. gossypii on red pepper, and 1 : 20 on cucumber and tomato. The three-times introduction of the eggs of C. pallens was as effective as four applications of insecticides from mid-June to late September.r.

This study was performed to investigate the response of the lacewing Chrysopa cognata to both Aphis gossypii-induced plant volatiles and lacewing-derived volatiles. The results of a Y-tube olfactometer bioassay showed that more C. cognata males were attracted to green pepper plants infected with A. gossypii than to uninfected green pepper plants alone or clean air and C. cognata males were attractive to C. cognata females. Gas chromatography-electroantennographic detection (GC-EAD) analysis showed that the antennae of C. cognata females elicited EAD-active responses to the volatiles entrained from A. gossypii-infected green pepper plants. 4-Ethylacetophenone, 3-ethylbenzaldehyde, 3-ethylacetophenone, and 4-ethylbenzaldehyde from A. gossypii-induced green pepper volatiles, and (Z,Z)-4,7-tridecadiene, (Z)-4-tridecene, and (Z)-4-undecene from C. cognata female entrainment were elucidated by further analysis using GC coupled nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Of the A. gossypii-induced plant volatiles identified in this study, 4-ethylacetophenone and 3-ethylbenzaldehyde significantly increased the attraction of C. cognata males to nepetalactol, but (Z)-4-tridecene and (Z)-4-undecene did not. (Z,Z)-4,7-Tridecadiene significantly reduced the attractiveness of nepetalactol to C. cognata.
In the capitalized Joseon Dynasty under the Japanese colonial rule, most Gisaengs (female entertainers) were waiting for men who would save them from financial distress, but others chose to seize the opportunity imposed by the modern times and capitalization to transform their lives. Socialist Jung Chil-sung was one of those who utilized such opportunity to transform themselves through political awakening. The political awakening of Chung Chil-sung was the result of two factors-the historical occasion of the March $1^{st}$ movement and her personal labor experience as Gisaeng. The March $1^{st}$ movement was not only a colossal political incident externally manifested in nationalism and but also an occasion which educed the microscopic anger of a woman named Chung Chil-sung. In the early capitalist society, women with jobs were forced to play not only vocational tasks but also to subject themselves to emotional roles of being obedient and generous. In other words, those early career women suffered feelings such as anger, shame and humiliation, when they were defenselessly exposed to gender hierarchy and gender power in the public sphere. As shown in the case of Chung Chil-sung, these emotions led to a certain political awakening. The political awakening through the labor experience and emotional problems was the fact that helped Chung Chil-sung have a concrete and realistic understanding about the issue of women's economic dependence unlike other female socialists. But, although socialism was relatively the most appropriate language to explain Chung Chil-sung's experience, what she experienced contained several elements that cannot be explained by the elite socialist language. Therefore, her life paradoxically proved the need of lower-class women's lives to be divided and registered as a new emotion and to be politically visualized.
The lactate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.27, LDH) in liver of Lempetra japonica was purified in buffer of affinity chromatography. The liver-specific $C_4$ isozyme of Gadus macrocephalus was purified by heat treatment, affinity chromatography, and DEAE-Sephacel chromatography. The liver-specific $C_4$ isozyme was eluted in a buffer containing NAD+ and was coeluted with $B_4$isozyme in plain buffer of affinity chromagraphy. Liver-specific $C_4$ isozyme in G. macrocephalus was the most thermostable, and$B_4$isozyme was more stable than $A_4$. The LDH in the fraction of pH 7.45 purified from the liver of L. iaponica by chromatofocusing was more inhibited by pyruvate than purified LDH. The optimum pH of the LDH isozyme in the liver of L. japonica was 7.5 and that of liver-specific$C_4$ isozyme was 8.5. The LDH in liver of L. japonica made complexes more with antibody against Coreoperca herzi$A_4$ and liver-specific $C_4$ than with that against eye-specific $C_4$. Therefore, the structure of the LDH in liver of L. japonica might be similarly evolved to that of subunit A and liver-specific $C_4$ isozyme in liver tissue of G. macrocephalus. The evolution rate of subunit C is faster than that of subunit A. LDH in liver of L. japonica has not one isozyme but isozymes and it was also found out to have not only subunit A and B but also subunit C.
An aphid predator, Chrysopa pallens Ramber, was reared on the artificial diets containing chicken egg yolk, yeast hydrolysate, brewer's yeast or Vanderzant's vitamin mixture, sucrose andlor bee honey, casein hydrolysate, and cholesterol. On these diets, 20.0 to 70.0% of the 1st instar larvae developed to apparently normal adults depending on diets used. The adults fed on one of these diets which was the most effective laid 230 fertile eggs for her 36 days of adult life span. The nonlipid part of the aphid, Myzus persicae Sulzer was thought to be nutritionally more important than the lipid part for the development of the green lacewing.
The green lacewing, Chrysopa pallens (Rambur), was reared on artificial diets supplementedwith natural products such as lyophilized beef liver, silk worm pupae powder and drone honey beepowder. The performance of the green lacewing was improved siginificantly on only the diet to whichadded 1 % of silk worm pupae powder (wt/v). Larval developement was completed in 15.6 f 0.99 days, cocoon weight was 16.4f2.94 mg, and suvival to adult was 89.3% at 27$^{\circ}$C. And another diet made bymixing 4 part of lyophilized beef liver powder, 4 part of lyophilized beef powder, 3 part of lyophilizedchicken egg, 4 part of sucrose, and 50 mg each of vitamin C and Vanderzant's vitamin B mixture waspromising. Larval development of the green lacewing on this diet was completed in 12.7 f 1.45 days at27"C, pupal weight was 18.1 f 2.24mg, suvival to adult was loo%, and 633f70.4 eggs were laid in 20days after beginning of oviposition.ginning of oviposition.
All vertebrates other than lampreys exhibit multiple loci encoding lactate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.27,LDH). From the result shown by cellulose acetate and starch gel electrophoresis, the lampreys were-reported to have only one isozyme. However in our results the LDH of skeletal muscle, heart and kidney in Lampetra japonica were separated into three isozymes and that of liver was separated into two isozymes by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The LDH of skeletal muscle and heart were separated into four isozymes and that of liver was separated into two isozymes by polyacrylamide gel isoelectric focusing (PAGlEF). The LDH of skeletal muscle were separated into four isozymes through the chromatofocusing. The molecular weight of LDH isozymes in skeletal muscle was approximately estimated to be 140,000 by Sephadex G-200 gel filtration. The LDH isozymes of skeletal muscle, heart and liver were inhibited by pyruvate to the nearly similar degree. And the degree of inhibition by pyruvate showed the value between LDH A$_4$and LDH B$_4$isozyme. And the LDH isozymes in heart, liver and skeletal muscle were thermostable. The results mentioned above indicate that the LDH isozyme in lamprey (Lampetra japonica) has not one isozyme but isozymes. And it is also found out that the two structures of their subunits are similar each others.
